Chapter 23 - Minotaur Slayer

Silas hurled his spear, a crackling arc of lightning enveloped it, the weapon streaking through the air with terrifying speed before striking the minotaur square in the head.

The impact sent the massive monster reeling, and it lost its grip on the wall, tumbling backward.

Upon hitting the ground, its body convulsed violently as electricity surged through it, burning its fur and charring its skin.

The minotaur let out an ear-splitting scream, its muscles spasming as it feebly tried to pull the spear from its skull.

Seeing this, Luka licked his lips, excitement flashing in his eyes. 'Good opportunity!'

With speed, he nocked an arrow, his hands moving faster than before—thanks to his newly granted title.

He let the arrow fly, and it shot straight into the minotaur's eye.

The monster convulsed once more before going completely still.

[Ding! You have killed a Minotaur!]

[+100 XP Earned!]

[New Title Unlocked: (Minotaur Slayer) - Taking any sort of damage has a small chance to increase attack power for a short duration of 5 seconds]

Hearing the system's voice, Luka grinned, feeling on top of the world.

That was a huge chunk of XP!

And also a nice title!

'Stealing someone else's kill is always satisfying,' he thought smugly.

Of course, he was a hypocrite in this regard.

Luka hated when others stole his kills, yet when he did it himself, he couldn't help but find it amusing.

That was, after all, the mindset of most gamers.

"Good finisher, son!" Silas called back his spear, glancing over with a half-nod.

At first, he had been worried about his only son fighting so close to the chaos, where death lurked at every turn.

But after seeing his son's contributions, pride swelled in his chest.

Luka was about to return the nod when— CRASH!

The wall suddenly gave way.

The second minotaur had broken through.

With a deafening roar, it charged forward, wielding its massive axe as it barreled into the warriors below—Tanks and Fighters bracing themselves for battle.

"Shit, hold your ground!" one of the fighters bellowed, tightening his grip on his sword as he searched for an opening.

But before anyone could react, the minotaur's rage found its first target—the closest Tank, who was standing at the front.

The monster's axe swung down in a brutal arc.

"FUCK!" The tank raised his shield in desperation, but it wasn't enough.

The sheer force of the strike cleaved through the shield, through his armor— and through his body.

With a sickening slice, his torso slid clean off his lower half, blood spraying across the ground.

At that moment, more tanks surged forward, shields raised, forming a defensive line as fighters rushed in from every direction.

They wielded whatever weapons they had—gauntlets, swords, axes—desperately trying to bring the minotaur down.

From above, Luka could only watch, frustrated.

The minotaur wasn't just holding its own.

It was slaughtering them.

Unlike the one before, this minotaur was a little larger, stronger.

'It seems we know who the boss of this dungeon outbreak is...' Luka thought to himself.

More and more blood sprayed in all directions as the minotaur's axe carved through the tanks and fighters like they were nothing.

Luka clenched his fists. 'This isn't working.'

"Hey, mages!" he shouted, waving them over.

The mages, initially focused on the fight below, turned their attention to him and hurried over.

"Yes, young master?" the lead mage inquired.

Luka pointed at the minotaur. "Hit that bastard with everything you've got."

All the mages blinked, their faces blank with hesitation.

It was as if question marks hovered over their heads.

"But... that would cause collateral damage!" one of them finally spoke up.

"The fighters and tanks are still in the fight!"

Luka sighed, rubbing his forehead. 'They don't get it.'

"They're being slaughtered," he said.

"If we wait, they'll all be dead anyway. And then who do you think the minotaur will come for next? This is an order. Use everything you've got."

It was harsh—Luka knew that.

But practical.

If they hesitated any longer, it would be them getting targeted.

Being ordered by a noble, the mages had no choice but to swallow their reluctance.

They turned their focus back to below, casting their highest elemental spell skills in unison.

The sky crackled with energy as massive lightning bolts rained down from above, striking the minotaur with fierce precision.

Ice shards materialized mid-air, slicing through the air toward their target.

A water dragon formed, roaring as it barreled downward, while a fire tornado spiraled upward, engulfing the minotaur in flames.

The very earth beneath the monster seemed to come alive, grabbing hold of its massive legs, holding it in place.

Despite the onslaught, the minotaur struggled violently, swinging its axe with mad abandon, trying to break free. It was in a frenzy.

The remaining fighters and tanks, caught in the chaos of the elemental barrage, were quickly overwhelmed and killed.

But the minotaur was still standing.

But not for long...

It roared in pain as the elemental spell skills wreaked havoc upon it, causing it to collapse onto its knees.

Yet, it continued to fight, its survival instinct refusing to yield.

Luka reacted instantly, drawing an arrow and firing, only to see his shot vanish against the elemental spell skills.

'Damn, I wanted this kill... But whatever...'

His attention quickly shifted to his father.

Silas stood frozen, eyes wide in shock. He had never expected his own mages to attack while the tanks and fighters were still alive.

"Father, stop standing around and attack!" Luka yelled. "We don't have all day!"

Snapping out of his stupor, Silas steadied himself, his battle-hardened instincts kicking back in.

He raised his spear, activating one of his highest-level skills:

[Heaven's Spear]

The spear transformed, turning into a brilliant golden weapon, with light swirling around it, radiating divine energy.

With a powerful thrust, Silas threw it forward with unimaginable speed.

The minotaur, struggling to maintain its grip, dropped its axe and reached for the spear.

But before its hand could even graze the weapon, it was struck deep in the stomach.

A burst of pain shot through its body as the spear drove further in, and in that moment, it's body began to transform into gold, limb by limb.

The minotaur's roar grew louder as the gold spread, its body growing heavy by each passing second.

The ground beneath it trembled, the surrounding air vibrating with the monster's defiant screams.

But slowly, the sound began to fade, quieter and quieter, until the minotaur was silenced altogether, it's face frozen in a silent scream as gold covered its mouth.

The once-mighty boss of this dungeon outbreak was reduced to nothing but a golden statue.
