Chapter 194: Chapter 194: I Only Remember His Surname Is Shen

"Cecilia, it’s okay if you don’t want to participate. Don’t force yourself..." Chloe Sutton wanted to say more, but a harsh glare from the station director made her swallow her words.

"How do I participate?"

After Cecilia Nathan spoke, the station director’s eyes widened in pleasant surprise, his voice trembling with excitement. "Miss Selina Nathan, are you really willing to participate?"

"Actually, Chloe was right. I didn’t want to join at first, but you just mentioned how hard it is to produce shows these days. Chloe is my friend, and I don’t want to see her in a difficult position. Besides, I was thinking of giving it a shot anyway, to fulfill my own dream of being a musician."

The station director clapped his hands in delight. "Wonderful, wonderful! This is great! Miss Selina Nathan, I’ve reviewed your work. Musically, you’re not just a composer—you’re a genius. With you on board, you’re sure to bring us a magnificent auditory feast."

Seeing Cecilia Nathan agree to participate, Chloe Sutton lowered her head, touched.

The station director had followed her all the way here, which essentially put Cecilia in a tight spot.

"Chloe, did you forget I studied music? I got tired of being Damian Hawthorne’s secretary at the Hawthorne Family, so it’s nice to return to my real profession. Who knows, maybe I can even promote my piano shop."

After Cecilia Nathan spoke, the guilt on Chloe Sutton’s face slowly faded. "Cecilia, thank you."

No matter what Cecilia said, Chloe knew she was definitely doing this for her sake.

Although they were good friends, Cecilia had helped her far more.

"Silly, you’re my friend. There’s no need to say all that." Cecilia patted Chloe’s hand.

When she was in a bad situation before, Chloe was always thinking of ways to help her. Now it was Chloe’s turn, and she couldn’t possibly do nothing.

"In that case, come with me to the station first and fill out the registration forms. In a couple of days, we’ll announce that a mysterious guest will be joining."

The station director gave Chloe a gratified smile. "After this show is over, I’ll have the station create an entertainment program for you to host next." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

This was his way of reassuring her.

After seeing the station director off, Chloe let out a long sigh of relief.

"Cecilia, I’m so sorry..."

"Silly, I told you I wanted to do it."

Just as Cecilia finished speaking, she caught a glimpse of a familiar figure out of the corner of her eye.

That person looked a lot like Miles Sinclair.

...

"What’s wrong?"

Miles Sinclair, wearing a mask, walked into a private room in the restaurant. A few minutes later, a slender figure followed him in.

"Miles..."

Quinn Sutton stood by the door looking aggrieved, her voice delicate as tears welled up in her eyes.

Miles Sinclair glanced at her coolly. "What do you want? Didn’t I tell you not to contact me for a while?"

"How could I not contact you... Miles, let me ask you, have you already made your move?"

Miles’s eyes turned cold. "This has nothing to do with you."

"Of course it does!" Quinn walked forward agitatedly. "Don’t forget, we’ve come this far together. If something happens to you, wouldn’t all our efforts be for nothing?"

"They won’t be for nothing..." A hint of gloom lurked in Miles’s gentle eyes. "Even if I make a move, I’ll be careful. You don’t need to worry."

"But isn’t our target Selina Nathan? Why have you started going after the Hawthorne Family? Don’t you know how terrifying Damian Hawthorne is...?"

Quinn trembled all over as she recalled what Damian had done when he came to the Sinclair Family estate.

That day, Damian had brought bodyguards to interrogate her, frightening her so much that she nearly fainted.

If Fiona Sinclair hadn’t intervened, Damian might have already taken her away.

She had long heard that Damian was a ruthless man who moved in all circles. He looked like a devil-may-care playboy, but she never expected him to be so vicious when he took action.

"With Damian around, we can’t touch the Nathan Family." Miles lowered his eyes, his fingers tightening into a fist.

’More than once, Damian has called me a fraud.’

’If this keeps up, even Cecilia won’t believe me anymore.’

"Last time, Damian asked me if you were an impostor and what you were really up to. I think he’s already investigating us," Quinn said, nervous and worried.

Just then, the name "Cecilia" was heard from outside the door, and both of them froze for a moment.

’Cecilia?’

’Cecilia Nathan?’

Quinn quickly shut the door, cutting off all sound from outside.

Miles frowned. "What’s Cecilia doing here?"

"I... I don’t know either. But it shouldn’t matter, right? We’re in a private room, after all. Miles, you don’t need to be so afraid of her. She’s just a love-struck fool; she probably won’t notice anything." Quinn didn’t think Cecilia was a threat.

But Miles knew what kind of person Cecilia really was.

"She won’t notice? That’s because you don’t know her well enough." Thinking of Cecilia’s personality, a trace of worry and gloom crossed Miles’s handsome face.

"Cecilia, what’s wrong?" Seeing Cecilia walking toward the private room, Chloe followed her worriedly.

Cecilia glanced at the private room, lost in thought.

’Did I see that wrong?’

’But the person who just went in looked so much like Miles Sinclair.’

’Why would he be here?’

"Cecilia, are you looking for someone?" Chloe glanced toward the private room. "I heard a meal in one of this restaurant’s private rooms costs at least five figures. Most people don’t book them. Do you know someone over there?"

Before Cecilia could reach the room, the people inside seemed to notice something and quickly shut the door.

Cecilia stopped in her tracks and didn’t take another step forward.

"Cecilia..."

"It’s nothing. I must have seen it wrong." Cecilia rubbed her eyes. "I haven’t been sleeping well lately. Sorry, Chloe. Let’s head to your station now and get the registration sorted out."

Chloe nodded. "Okay."

After the two left, the people in the private room held their breath, not daring to speak.

Ten minutes after Cecilia was gone, color finally started to return to Quinn’s pale face.

"You were right." Quinn slumped into a chair, her chest heaving. "Cecilia is no simple person."

"Miles, we might have to move our plan up."

...

Not long after Damian Hawthorne and Frances Bennett walked out of the police station, Caleb Kramer followed them out.

When he saw Damian and Frances, Caleb Kramer’s face turned a furious shade of red.

But he quickly composed himself.

"Thank you for letting me off the hook." If Damian and Frances hadn’t signed the settlement agreement, he would have been in prison for at least a few years.

Thinking about the reason he’d been jailed, Caleb’s face filled with resentment.

’If it weren’t for that person, I never would have ended up at the police station.’

"I can get you out, and I can put you right back in." Damian lit a cigarette, stuck one hand in his pocket, and squinted at Caleb. "So, talk. Who put you up to it?"

Caleb wasn’t short by any means, but in front of Damian, his presence seemed to shrink.

The man before him wore a simple gray jacket, yet he exuded a powerful, oppressive aura.

This was Damian Hawthorne, the legend of Korsyth.

Caleb was old now, and his cloudy eyes were filled with jealousy.

He was no longer young; faced with such vibrant life, all he could feel was envy.

"I don’t know who he is or what his name is. I only remember... his surname is Sinclair."
