I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess-Chapter 115: Stone Guard?
Lillian continued to ride on the Beetle, traversing through the tedious maze. She was beginning to suspect something.
She looked down and stared at the mountain of corpses the Beetle was eating—it was mainly those mossy goblins, though.
"Is it just me, or are you just going after them instead of taking me to the exit?" she asked suspiciously.
She got off and walked to the side of its face.
The Beetle then raised its blood-covered face.
Squelch. Squelch. Squelch.
It chewed, letting out wet, crunching squelches as blood dripped over its face.
Her face contorted into disgust a bit before she turned away. "Just finish quickly," she sighed.
She went over to one of the walls and sat, leaning her back against it.
She scratched the side of her head.
"What should I do then...?" she pondered before remembering a certain item she had acquired.
She waved her hand flamboyantly to the side, summoning a thick tome and opening it.
She traced her hand over its yellowish, aged pages.
"I don't really have much to do right now; might as well see if this has anything interesting."
She turned to the first page and paused. She smiled slightly and nodded a bit before closing it.
"I can't understand it."
After tossing the tome back into her spatial ring, she rolled around on the ground. She groaned, "Ugh... Am I really going to have to learn another language?"
She lay on her back, staring at the fake blue sky.
"It's either that or have someone translate it for me."
She thought about the latter option. Just as she was about to plan it, she realized it wouldn't do her much.
"I might need to read some other things in the Trial World; I might as well learn it while I am in the academy. I'm not in any particular hurry to learn it, after all."
After a while, the Beetle finally finished.
Using its [Senser] attribute, they were able to quickly find the exit—once wiping out almost every goblin along the way.
However, of course, every dungeon-like setting is guarded.
Lillian stared at a bulky stone statue in the middle of a large open area.
It was approximately 6 metres tall, with a round, crooked head with rough edges, and roughly embedded at its centre was a dull, grey gem.
It had broad shoulders leading to large arms that reached the ground. It was segmented, made up of several small boulders stuck together.
Its torso was covered in deep, curved scars and scratches that, coincidentally, gave it a swirling pattern across its body.
Its legs were slim and feeble—something that shouldn't be able to hold up a body weighing several tons.
It looked to be a stone golem that had been inactive for a long period of uneventful time.
That was until Lillian stepped into the room where it resided.
The dull gem that looked like an eye glowed a faint green before shining brightly. Its body shuddered like a rusty machine before becoming lively.
Lillian, who was sitting in a cross-legged position with the side of her face in her palm, smiled a bit.
"Something a little bit more challenging."
The golem before her was a Dire Wretch—a rank C monster with only a single Mana Shell. Although it had a smaller volume of mana by comparison, it was still physically stronger than her.
"Stronger... more durable... but hella slow."
Lillian rolled her shoulders, standing up from the Beetle's back.
Even so, the golem—even as a Wretch—was still a Dire, meaning...
Lillian's ears twitched. The air in the space felt heavier and warmer. Not only that, but it sounded like a cacophony of birds.
And then...
BZZT...!
A piercing ray of viridian light shot towards her.
Her eyes widened briefly. She felt the temperature in the nearby air intensify.
Just as it was about to shoot through her, the Beetle raised its horn, blocking the laser and causing it to scatter and refract.
The refracted ray slammed into the maze's wall, cracking it and causing parts of it to crumble.
Lillian lost her balance as the Beetle was pushed—knocked back outside the entrance of the room.
She fell on her rear, stupified.
"Whoa... was it that fast, huh?" she said while scratching the side of her head. "The game made it a lot easier to react to..."
She climbed down from the Beetle and walked over to its head, where she saw its face vigorously twitching in rage.
SKRR! SKRR! SKRR!
Its teeth chattered together, causing it to let out chilling scrapes and high-pitched screeches. Its eyes were focused on its horn—specifically the area of contact.
The middle section of its dark horn had become even darker compared to its surrounding color. It also had a barely noticeable crack in it.
Fortunately, the crack was so minor that it could be left out of a report; however, that didn't mean it didn't infuriate the furious insectoid terror.
Lillian turned her attention toward the golem, only to see it power off; the trace of light in the deep center of its gem disappeared.
She sighed and held the side of her head.
"An opening move that could one-shot me," she glanced at the Beetle. "But not him..."
She held her chin and fell into deep thought. Then she pulled out her phone and checked the time.
"28 minutes."
She needed to form a plan to, first, avoid being killed by the devastating beam, and second...
"I need to destroy the gem with the odachi..."
Its stone body was the least durable part; the gem was the toughest and the element that held its magical body together.
While her magic had indeed grown in offensive power with the rank up from the Trial, she felt it was wise to underestimate its capabilities for now.
She stared intently at the hunched-over stone golem.

"Now then... how should I go about surviving that beam?" she murmured, slowly drifting her gaze toward the Beetle with a sadistic grin.
"Time to put that shell to good use."
