I Was Transmigrated As An Extraordinary Extra-Chapter 99
Chapter 99: Chapter 99
"...Remillia wake up, it’s your turn."
I woke up from Ezekiel’s voice outside my tent. I looked at the time, it’s 12 AM. I stretched my body and finally went outside.
"You can go to sleep now."
Ezekiel yawned, "it’s too quiet out there, no students nor monsters spotted."
Remillia nodded as Ezekiel headed back to his tent, his exhaustion evident in the way he moved. "Good night," she whispered.
Once Ezekiel was out of sight, she quickly gathered her gear, securing her daggers to her thighs and waist. She turned to Macaron, who had been silently observing her, "Ready?" she asked in a low voice.
<Yup,> Macaron replied, spreading his wings slightly.
With a final glance around the camp, Remillia slipped into the shadows, moving silently through the dense forest. While Macaron stood guard outside the cave.
The moonlight filtered through the dense canopy, casting faint patches of light on the forest floor. She can see the night as bright as day, so she casually looked around.
As she continued through the forest, her heightened senses began to pick up on subtle traces—soft footsteps, the rustle of leaves, the faint crackle of a distant fire. Remillia knew these signs meant she wasn’t far from other students. She slowed her pace, moving even more cautiously now, her eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of movement.
Eventually, she detected the presence of a small group of students. She carefully approached their camp, keeping herself hidden in the shadows. She spotted three students, all resting near a small fire. Their badges were visible, hanging loosely from their belts or pockets, within easy reach.
Remillia studied them for a moment, formulating her plan. She could either take them out one by one silently or create a distraction to snatch their badges without confrontation. After a moment’s consideration, she decided on a mix of both—eliminating the closest student first to reduce their numbers and then swiftly taking the others by surprise.
Drawing one of her daggers, Remillia inched closer to the student lying nearest to her. With precise, silent movements, she positioned herself over him, ensuring she could grab his badge while keeping him subdued. In one swift motion, she covered his mouth with one hand and sliced his badge off with the other, slipping it into her pouch. The student struggled briefly but was no match for Remillia’s skill, quickly losing consciousness as she applied just enough pressure to knock him out without causing permanent harm.
With the first student successfully neutralized, Remillia moved toward the next. The two remaining students were still unaware of the danger lurking in the shadows, one of them leaning back against a tree, eyes half-closed, while the other stoked the dying embers of their fire.
Remillia approached the student by the fire, her steps light and calculated. She positioned herself behind him, her dagger at the ready. Just as she was about to make her move, the student by the tree suddenly spoke up, "Hey, did you hear something?"
Remillia froze, her heart quickening. The student by the fire glanced around, squinting into the darkness. "Probably just an animal," he muttered, but the brief moment of alertness was all Remillia needed to rethink her approach.
Instead of taking down the student by the fire immediately, she decided to create a distraction. She picked up a small rock and tossed it into the bushes on the opposite side of their camp. The sound of rustling leaves drew their attention away from her.
"What was that?" the student by the tree asked, now fully awake and on edge.
"Go check it out," the other replied, standing up cautiously.
As the student by the tree moved toward the bushes, Remillia struck. She swiftly grabbed the badge of the student near the fire and, before he could react, she knocked him out with a precise blow to the back of his neck. His body slumped to the ground silently.
The remaining student, still distracted by the noise in the bushes, hadn’t noticed a thing. Remillia took advantage of this, creeping up behind him as he cautiously peered into the underbrush. With one swift motion, she grabbed his badge and then, using the hilt of her dagger, delivered a quick strike to his head, rendering him unconscious.
With all three badges secured, Remillia took a moment to catch her breath, her heart racing from the adrenaline. She glanced back at the students and quietly left afraid that the supervisors would ran into her.
For the rest of the time, I continued to take 50 more badges from different students and only stopped when I saw the sun rising. I haven’t seen any of my friends nor classmates.
’I guess I’ll look for them again later.’
Before Ezekiel wakes up and found out that I wasn’t there guarding the cave, I rushed to go back but I suddenly sensed someone following me. In an instant, I quickly threw my dagger as it sliced through the air with precision, aiming at the source of the movement I sensed behind me. As it flew, I spun around, ready to confront whoever followed her. freewebnσvel.cøm
Her dagger struck the tree with a sharp thunk, just inches away from the figure standing behind it. She tensed, ready to engage, but then her eyes narrowed in recognition. It was Kairos, his usual smirk firmly in place as he stepped out from behind the tree.
"Impressive aim," Kairos remarked, his voice calm as he glanced at the dagger lodged near his head. "But you might want to be more careful next time. You almost took my ear off."
Remillia’s eyes narrowed, suspicion and irritation mingling in her gaze. "Kai- I mean Caleo? Why are you following me?" she demanded, her tone sharp.
Kairos tilted his head slightly, an amused glint in his eyes. "I thought you were another student and considered taking your badge," he said with a smirk, stepping forward. He casually pulled the dagger from the tree and handed it back to her, his movements relaxed.
Remillia took the dagger, her expression unreadable as she slipped it back into its sheath. "I don’t need anyone following me, least of all you," she said curtly. "This isn’t a group project."
Kairos’ smirk widened slightly. "No, but it could be. You and I both know this exam isn’t just about surviving; it’s about outsmarting everyone else. I thought you might appreciate a little extra help."
Remillia scoffed, though she couldn’t deny the logic in his words. "You think you can just waltz in and join my team?"
Kairos shrugged. "Why not? I’ve got the skill and can be... useful in ways you might not expect."
Remillia stared at Kairos for a long moment, weighing her options. She didn’t fully trust him—she still doesn’t know what his motive in enrolling here. Nevertheless, she decided to play along.
"How can I trust what you’re saying?" she asked, her voice steady but edged with suspicion. "What if you’re only aiming for my badges?"
Kairos met her gaze without flinching, his expression calm. "I’m just in need of a team right now since some of the students I met were dying to recruit me as part of theirs," he explained with a casual shrug.
"Then go join them instead. Why would you want to be on my team?" Remillia’s eyes narrowed, searching for any hint of deceit.
"Simple." Kairos smiled slightly. "You’re stronger than them and you can protect me."
’I don’t need to protect you, you’re stronger than me.’
"Flattery won’t get you anywhere, Caleo."
"Who said anything about flattery?" Kairos raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her response. "I’m a man of my word, Remillia. I promise not to steal your badge."
Remillia knew he was telling the truth. In her novel, she had created Kairos to be someone who kept his word, no matter what. Even if he was unpredictable, he doesn’t go back on his word.
She took a deep breath, still cautious but considering the benefits of having someone like Kairos on her team. "Fine," she finally said, her voice firm. "But if you cross me, I’ll make sure you regret it."
Kairos’ smile widened, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Fair enough. I wouldn’t expect anything less from you."
As Remillia and Kairos approached the cave, they noticed Ezekiel pacing back and forth near the entrance, his expression a mix of anxiety and frustration. His footsteps were rapid, creating a small, worn path in the dirt as he walked in circles.
"Where have you been?!" Ezekiel demanded the moment he spotted Remillia. He glanced at Kairos but quickly returned his attention to her. "I woke up and saw you were gone. I thought something happened!"
Remillia remained calm and lied, "Since it was already dawn, I went for a stroll and I happen to meet Caleo, meet our new member."
Ezekiel’s eyes flickered between the two of them, suspicion evident. "Joining our team? Just like that?"
Kairos glanced between the two of them with a faint smile, though he said nothing.
"Yes, just like that," Remillia replied , leaving no room for argument. "We need strong members if we want to survive this week."
Kairos decided to join their conversation. "Well, since I’m also a member, what’s the plan for today?"
