I Was Transmigrated As An Extraordinary Extra-Chapter 80
Chapter 80: Chapter 80
Remillia could hear snippets of conversations as she walked through the corridors.
"Can you believe an apex monster got that close to the academy? It’s supposed to be one of the safest places in the world!"
"I heard they barely managed to bring it down. What if it happens again?"
"They’re saying the academy might have to increase security tenfold after this."
In response to the growing backlash, the academy had issued statements assuring the public that new security protocols were being implemented. But even with these assurances, the incident had shaken many people’s confidence in the institution.
Amidst all the chaos, one detail stood out—no one knew who had actually slain the monster. The identities of those involved in the battle were kept strictly confidential, listed only as "anonymous" in the official reports. This decision had been made to protect the students, who had requested to keep their identities a secret, knowing the kind of attention and pressure that would come with such a revelation.
The exams, result, and even classes were cancelled for two weeks as the authorities try to calm the issue down. With this sudden vacation, students can choose whether they want to stay in the academy or have a little vacation while waiting for classes to resume.
Remillia who finally got inside her dorm room was sitting comfortably on her bed, a box of chocolate in her lap which Macaron was already gobbling a piece of it while watching a movie playing on her laptop.
Remillia can’t help but sigh at how glutton Macaron is. "The show’s just starting and you ate half of my chocolate already!"
<I’ve seen tons of chocolate on the ref. I’ll just get some.>
She ignored him and just as she settled back to watch the next scene, her smartwatch buzzed and read a message from Professor Orion.
Her brow furrowed slightly as she opened the message:
"Remillia, now that you’re well, please come to my office now. Don’t tell me you forgot our deal?~ – Prof. Orion"
This was supposed to be my rest day huhu! Don’t tell me he wants to kick me in a dungeon? I just got into a fight with a monster recently! I just want to sleep and watch all day!
"I guess this movie will have to wait," Remillia said, giving the rest of the chocolate to Macaron. She quickly shut down the laptop and stood up, smoothing out her clothes.
"I need to go out again."
<Well, call me. Last time, you almost got into trouble, don’t forget that you have me.>
Macaron fluttered onto her shoulder, and rubbed her cheeks.
"Don’t worry, I’ll let you join in a dungeon soon."
I then left the room, making my way through the now quiet halls of the academy. When she reached Professor Orion’s office, instead of knocking lightly on the door, she just pushed the door open revealing Professor with a big black bags under his eyes. He looked like a panda.
"Finally, my fave aprren- I mean student is here."
"Eugh, why do you look so horrible?"
"Apparently, I didn’t have any sleep since one of the dungeon cave I own has a sudden pest problem in it and I need your help in eradicating them."
"It’s supposed to be my break."
"Are you forgetting about our deal already?"
"No? Why Would I?"
"Good. The pest that you’ll be handling is a new type of specie."
"A new species?" Remillia echoed, her curiosity piqued despite her disappointment at the lack of a break. "Have you identified it?"
"Unfortunately no, we don’t have all the details yet, which is why I’m assigning you to investigate it. Why don’t you be a dear and gather some information about it also?"
"When did this happen?"
"It’s strange since it’s also the day where the Apex monster appeared. According to my workers, it seemed that the monster just appeared and disrupted all their work inside the dungeon cave. It’s also a new specie of monster. I’m giving you this since you’re more knowledgeable than the others."
’Is it starting? The author sure is rushing the events, two new specie appeared and instead of the main characters having the headaches, I’m the one who’s currently having a headache.’
Why did the author suddenly released not one but two monsters? I didn’t even create Subterranea. What’s going on with that author’s dumb head?
"I’ll be going tomorrow at dawn."
"About that, you’re not going alone."
"What? But I get anxious when I work with strangers."
Professor Orion only smiled at me as if he’s saying, ’don’t give me a sh!tty excuse, I’m not buying it.’
"Here are the files about the cave dungeon and you’ll be leading a group I’ve put together specifically for this mission and of course, you already know my apprentice right?"
"Yeah, why?"
I answered while looking at the files of each person.
"He’ll also be coming with you."
"Isn’t he busy considering that he’s an archmage?"
"Nah, that’s just his side job, he’s also a Hero, you know."
"Why would he even join me?"
"Because I said so?"
"What kind of mentor are you?"
"The best?"
"Sir Gusion will not be coming."
"Oh, he will. Who else will protect you but him? Don’t forget you fainted in your last battle."
"May I remind you Professor-"
"Call me mentor."
"No."
"But why?"
"Because I don’t want to?"
When I looked at him, he was sulking like a baby.
’What’s wrong with him?’
"I fought an Apex monster, that’s why I fainted."
"How sure are you that an Apex monster won’t appear in the dungeon cave again?"
I was at loss for words. ’Why does he keep insisting that Sir Gusion would accompany me?’
"Okay, he’ll be coming but he won’t interrupt my work."
"That’s fine."
Professor Orion was smiling happily. His operation: make his two apprentices a couple first step is done. Remillia is much suited with his apprentice than other boys. Besides who doesn’t like his apprentice? At the young age of 22, he already became an archmage.
"So 10 people including me and Sir Gusion will be going to the dungeon?"
"That’s right."
She stood up and gathered the files, "I’ll be going now Professor."
"Have a fun trip tomorrow, Remillia!"
’How can that be fun? I’m literally going there to work!’

At 4 A.M., the academy was still shrouded in darkness, with only the faintest hint of dawn on the horizon. Remillia, already awake and focused, was finishing her morning routine. The warm water from the bath had helped to clear the last remnants of sleep from her mind, and as she stepped out, she felt fully alert and ready for the mission ahead.
After drying off, she quickly dressed in her gear—light but durable clothing suitable for the trek and whatever dangers might lie ahead in the dungeon. She strapped on her boots, pulled on her gloves, and made sure her daggers were securely fastened at her side. She doesn’t need a bag since she already have her mystic pouch.
Remillia pulled out a small piece of paper from her pocket, unfolding it to reveal the address Professor Orion had given her:
Crimson Caverns, Sector 9-β
Raven’s Peak, Tosmia
GPS Coordinates: 43.7322° N, 11.3211° E
She stared at the coordinates for a moment, mentally mapping out the location. Raven’s Peak was a well-known, remote mountain range in Tosmia, notorious for its treacherous terrain and the mysterious Crimson Caverns nestled deep within it. The caverns were named for the reddish glow that emanated from their walls, a phenomenon that had intrigued and frightened adventurers for centuries. Sector 9-β was a particularly secluded area within the caverns, making it an ideal, if dangerous, spot for a mission of this nature.
Remillia took a deep breath, folded the paper back up, and tucked it securely into a pocket.
"Ready, Macaron?" she said to Macaron, who was perched on the windowsill, watching her intently.
<Yup.>
Macaron hooted softly in response, his large eyes reflecting the dim light of the early morning.
With one last glance around her room, Macaron flew toward her shoulder and we finally headed out the door. The academy grounds were eerily quiet at this hour, the only sounds being her footsteps and the rustling of the wind through the trees.

As Remillia approached the rendezvous point, the entrance to the Crimson Caverns loomed ahead, its jagged rocks and ominous shadows giving it an intimidating presence. The dawn was just beginning to break, casting a faint, reddish glow over the landscape. She could see a group of people gathered near the entrance, their voices carrying through the still morning air.
As she got closer, she realized they hadn’t noticed her yet, and what she overheard made her pause.
"Why the hell did Professor Orion pick her to be the leader?" one of them grumbled, his voice dripping with disdain. "What makes a spoiled brat like her think she’s qualified to lead us?" ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
"Yeah, seriously," another chimed in. "We’ve been working in these dungeons for years, and he picks some academy kid? What could she possibly know about leading a group or fighting monsters that we don’t?"
"Maybe she’s got connections," a third one muttered. "Bet she’s never had to really fight for her life. Just some pampered kid playing hero."
