I Turned Filthy Rich Just By Sleeping With Women?!-Chapter 113: The World Beyond Her Sanctuary
Chapter 113: The World Beyond Her Sanctuary
Jin Yuexin sat curled up on the couch, legs tucked under a fluffy blanket, her still-damp hair clinging to her cheeks and neck.
The towel wrapped around her shoulders drooped as she lazily munched on a black sesame puff, her cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk.
"Hnnn~ so good..."
The sweetness danced on her tongue: nutty, soft, just the right amount of gooey. Her eyes sparkled as she licked a bit of filling off her thumb.
"Nanny, you really bought the good stuff today..." she murmured through a mouthful, her voice lazy and content.
A hum of warm air blew past her ear as Aunty Liu stood behind her, holding the hair dryer in one hand and gently patting Yuexin’s head with the other.
"Tsk, you call that thanks? Where’s mine?" Aunty Liu teased with a smirk.
Yuexin pouted and turned around with another puff in hand, standing on her knees. "Aaa~n."
Aunty Liu chuckled and leaned down, letting the girl shove it gently into her mouth. "Mmm~ not bad. Still warm too."
"See? You’re welcome," Yuexin huffed proudly, turning back to the TV.
Her favorite variety show was playing, loud laughter, colorful captions, and overacting idols filled the room with cheerful chaos.
But Aunty Liu wasn’t watching the screen.
Her eyes flicked to the soft profile of Yuexin, the damp strands of her pink hair, the flush of her cheeks from the bath, and the smile she wore when she wasn’t weighed down by the world.
She became her nanny when she was still eight years old. Not only her, but Jin Haolong too. Their parents were busy so she was the one who took care of both of them.
Knowing their past and how painful it was made her heart break and now, Yuexin still couldn’t heal from her trauma. Then, her brother, her only family was gone and Aunty Liu wasn’t even sure if Yuexin understood it.
Cause sometimes, she still asked about the whereabouts of her Gege and why he never came back.
Faced with that kind of question, of course, Aunty Liu could only frown and lie to her that he was on a long bussiness trip and won’t come back for a long time.
She sighed inwardly, ’What a poor girl you are...’ She shook her head.
But then, she remembered something, or someone to be exact.
"You know..." Aunty Liu said slowly, "Your new manhua’s already got 30k views just from this morning."
Yuexin’s ears twitched.
"Do you think... do you think Zhao Yiming would want to come see it?" Aunty Liu asked slyly, eyes narrowing with a grin. "He might even be happy knowing his whole body—ahem, I mean, face—was used for your main character."
Yuexin froze. The puff in her hand trembled slightly.
A full five seconds passed before her voice squeaked out, barely above a whisper, "...He’s not the whole body..."
Her face turned crimson as memories from the studio came back, his presence, his warmth, how she’d touched him for art, how he didn’t even flinch when her fingers ran over his chest and his cock...
"I-I just needed references! It’s all part of the job..."
"You undressed a man for your ’job’?" Aunty Liu teased, raising a brow. "Ai-ya, Yuexin, you’re scarier than I thought!"
Yuexin covered her face with the blanket. "I didn’t undress him! He... he just cooperated..."
Aunty Liu laughed softly. "You like him?"
Yuexin didn’t reply. Her red ears gave her away. Instead, she nodded once, still she was hesitant since she didn’t understand her feelings too.
Aunty Liu leaned back, satisfied.
"At least you have someone who’ll take care of you when I’m gone..."
The words were soft. Like a sigh meant to fly away unnoticed.
Yuexin’s head snapped toward her. "Don’t say things like that."
"I’m just being honest." Aunty Liu smiled and brushed Yuexin’s bangs from her forehead.
"You’re growing up. You have your art, your readers, and your friends now. Someday, you’ll move out, fall in love, live a life far beyond this little apartment."
Yuexin frowned, her lips pressing together. She sat up straighter, brushing the blanket off.
"I don’t want to live far away from you," she said stubbornly. "I want to stay here. Forever."
"Silly girl," Aunty Liu chuckled. "No one stays forever..."
However, her body suddenly tensed as she suddenly stopped. Her breath caught as her hand clutched her chest.
The pain in her chest was too painful as her vision was blurry.
"Nanny...?" Yuexin turned toward her instantly, alarm rising in her throat.
"Aunty Liu?! What’s wrong?!"
But the woman’s eyes rolled back, and her body sagged against the couch, knees giving out, crumpling like a marionette with its strings cut.
"NANNYY!!!"
Yuexin screamed, shaking her. "WHAT’S WRONG?! WHAT’S HAPPENING?!" Tears started to stream down her face.
She reached for her phone with trembling hands, her entire body shaking as she sobbed and shouted for help.
But the voice on the other end was cold and emotionless.
"It’ll take at least an hour to get to your location. We’re short on officers due to a pile-up accident on the highway."
"I’m so sorry, miss, but based on your description, your nanny may be having a heart attack. If you have access to a vehicle, please take her to the hospital yourself, it’s the fastest option."
Yuexin’s fingers went numb. The phone slipped from her hand and hit the floor with a dull thud.
Go out? Ask for help? But... from who?
She scrambled to grab her phone again and called Su Meilin, but it rang and rang but no answer. She tried again, still nothing.
Tears blurred her vision as she turned toward the door, panic crawling through her chest like fire ants. She needs to ask for help, maybe Su Meilin was busy at home.
But the moment she touched the doorknob, her body froze. Her legs locked up. Her fingers trembled violently. Cold sweat slid down her temples.
The world beyond that door felt monstrous.
She hadn’t stepped outside in years, not since graduation. The moment she thought about it, her breath caught in her throat. Her vision narrowed.
The memory of those eyes, those whispers, those looks filled her mind. Strangers judging her, mocking her, the weight of the world pressing down again.
She dropped to her knees in front of the door, clutching her chest. Her breath came in short, shallow gasps. Her head pounded.
"I can’t... I can’t..."
Her body refused to move. The fear gripped her like chains, like she was trapped in a nightmare.
But then... she saw her. Aunty Liu, collapsed on the floor, eyes barely open, mouth gasping for air.
Something snapped in her.
Yuexin wiped her tears roughly. She still trembled, but she bit down on her lip and forced herself to breathe. Her heartbeat was frantic, her legs barely working, but she couldn’t let Aunty Liu die.
Not without trying.
Not without doing something.
Shaking, she stood up. Step by step, she reached the door again and wrapped her hand around the knob. It was cold, like ice. Her whole body still screamed to run back, to hide.
But she couldn’t. Jin Yuexin slowly opened the door.
