I Try To Enjoy My Life But This Woman Keep Calling Me Villain-Chapter 67
We decide to take the child back to the fortress, where we see the reinforcement has arrived.
Two banners on top of the wall indicate which house already arrived in the fortress. One of them is a black crow perching on a tree branch with a golden background. The second one is a golden snarling lion on a black background.
From those two banners, I know house Lionheart and Tarrow are the ones that arrived. However, why are they the first ones to arrive? Lionheart and Tarrow is the house on the edge of the Southern Nobles’ territory. They are the furthest people to help us.
Something is not right.
I quickly shake my head and discard that kind of thinking. Jullian and I get back to the fortress, and when we arrive inside the fortress, I give the child to Jullian and say.
"Jullian, take him to the healing tent, okay?"
"Of course, young master."
While Jullian takes the child away, I walk to the Lord’s Mansion, where his father and the other lords stay.
After a minute of walking, I arrived in front of the war room. I open the door and see three people inside looking at a map. When they see me open the door, my father smiles and says.
"Ah, Gwyn. Come inside and tell me how your job is."
"Of course, father."
I close the door and start to tell him about my day. I tell them about the traps, and I manage to place them in all but one point. Lastly, I tell them about the monster summoning altar the enemy placed in the middle of the forest.
"And that is all."
"Are you sure it is an altar that summons a monster? Are you sure you are not making this up?"
I look at lord Lionheart and say.
"Are you saying that I’m a liar, my lord?"
"Yes. You might be a great healer, but I’m a magician, and I know more things than you. There is no such thing as a monster-summoning device. Not only that, but you also did not bring any evidence to this meeting. We are in a delicate situation and cannot do anything reckless like sending a group of magicians to investigate something that might not exist."
"But we heard it ourselves. We heard it from the enemy soldiers themselves."
"And I think this is a trap. They let you hear their so-called ’plan’ and lure us to their trap."
He then looks at my father and says.
"I’m sorry to say this, my lord. However, I think Young Master Gwyn needs to get out of the war room. He is too inexperienced in this matter."
My father looks at me and nods. I sigh and leave the war room, where I can see Jullian waiting for me.
"Young master? What is their response?"
"Nothing. Lord Lionheart did not believe me, and Lord Tarrow agreed with him. Because of that, my father tells me to leave the room."
"What?! How can they not believe you?"
"Something about not going recklessly."
"At least they can send us to investigate."
"I know, Jullian. I know. I don’t know what is going on. I decided to wait and see. Come on. I’m hungry."
"Of course, young master!"
~Five hours later~
"Young master. Young master"
I slowly open my eyes and see Jullian standing next to me.
"What is it, Jullian?"
"The Lord is calling you."
"Really?"
"Yes. He is waiting behind the tent."
"Why is he there?"
"I don’t know, but it looks like it is important. There are seven guards around him."
I nod and quickly put on my clothes, then leave the tent. I quickly go to the back of the tent, where I can see my father surrounded by seven people, all of whom are his hand-picked guard.
"Father."
My father nods and gestures at the barrel in front of him. I nod and sit in front of him and say.
"What is it, Father? What with this setup?"
"This is about the meeting in the war room."
"Ah. I see. Do you believe that I lied to you?"
"No. I believe you when you said that you found the monster-summoning device. That is something I want to talk about."
My father takes a deep breath and says.
"Lord Lionheart and Lord Tarrow are hot-headed individuals, and they are willing to do something reckless to get some glory on the battlefield. This is the first time they have said something like this. I don’t want to label them traitors because they have been defending the southern border longer than me, but something is not right."
"Truly?"
"Aye. Because of this, I need you to make an investigation team to investigate the location of this device and destroy them. I will make sure this order sounds like a trap-making mission. Pick ten people with you and make sure they are loyal. I also want you to ensure that no one is following you through your mission."
"Of course, father."
"Good. Can you leave Okami and Fenrir here? I have a couple of things I want them to do."
"Of course, father. Should I summon them now or later?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"Now."
I nod and take a deep breath. I take out my weapon and summon Okami and Fenrir. Both of them look at me; I pet them and say.
"Okami. Fenrir. Please obey my father, okay? He has a job for you two."
Seeing them nod their heads, I give them a belly rub. After a minute of belly rub, I look at my father and say.
"I’m sorry for that, Father."
"Don’t worry. I understand. Anyway, that is all I need to tell you. Please get back to your tent. We need to do something."
"What do you need to do? Can I help you with that?"
"No. Too many people doing this will make others suspicious."
"I see. Then I will not hold you back."
After saying that, I walk back to the tent.

|3rd POV|
On the other side of the battlefield, Charles Vortigern takes a sip of his wine while looking in the distance. Early this morning, he got a message from the other general saying that once he and his army arrive, he will be the one leading the entire army.
After the news of him and his army being soundly defeated by the Cunningham Army, the king gave the position of the Great Marshall to the other general. Not only that, but he also gets the news of the king telling him to start with plan B.
Charles did not like plan B. Plan B is involved with a device that lets them summon a Void Crack and let the monster run amok against the enemy. Charles is an old-generation general who prefers to fight the enemy head-on and will not ally himself with the monster.
He can refuse the order but knows it will not do anything. The new Grand Marshal will continue with the plan, and he can only watch from the side as they ally with the thing they swear to destroy.
He doesn’t want his family name to be associated with the monster and decides to do one last push before the new Grand Marshall arrives on the battlefield.
However, his plan needs a trigger to make it work. He already sent a letter to a group of people and only needs to wait for their answer.
"Lord Marshall!"
He looks at the young man who gets inside his tent and says.
"What is it?"
"We get a reply!"
The young man gives him a letter. Charles takes the letter and reads it. The more he read it, the bigger his smile got. After reading them all, Charles looks at the young man and says,
"Call all my commanders! We need to prepare. The wind has changed, and we need to prepare."
