I Try To Enjoy My Life But This Woman Keep Calling Me Villain-Chapter 64
|3rd POV|
The rhythm of the battlefield has changed. The rhythm has changed with Jullian and his unit creating havoc in the enemy’s backline and now a new unit joining the battle. The previous defensive tactic that Alexander quickly changed into an offensive one.
Alexander did not know the reason why one of the best mercenary groups in the entire Southern Continent came and helped them, but for now, he will use them to his advantage.
With the mercenary group as their main shield, Alexander will charge forward with his elite soldier and create a pincer attack.
He gets down the wall and walks to the cavalry unit. He quickly tells them his plan and sees them nodding at him, understanding their order.
"Captain, you will take your unit to the left and I will take the one to the right. Make sure to burn the battering ram and the siege tower."
"Yes, my lord!"
Alexander and two hundred men ride through the battlefield when the gate opens. They split into two and quickly attacked from the flank of the enemy. With a warcry, Alexander butchers his way through the enemy flank and reaches the slowly moving siege tower.
When they are close enough, one of the captains that come with him creates a fireball and throws it at the massive siege tower. As an army captain, you need at least to know a small bit of magic, and fireball is easy enough to learn and full of uses.
After burning the siege engine, Alexander and his unit did not stop. They keep riding through the enemy formation. After ten minutes of riding, Alexander sent a hand signal, and suddenly his men changed direction. They are riding back to the fortress.
Alexander learns from his mistake and decides to stay within the enemy formation and return to the fortress to regroup. Five minutes after he and his group arrive, the captain that leads the other unit regroups with him.
Light appears above them when they regroup, and all their wounds start to close. Even the one with his arms dangling because of the enemy attack gets itself attached. Alexander looks to the high tower and sees his son have one of his cards floating above them.
He smiles a little and quickly says.
"Your wound is gone, and your stamina is back! Let us cause more chaos!"
"Yeah!
Gwyn sees his father get back to the battlefield and can only sigh. He wants to join him but knows his role in this war. He will do what he is best at, supporting the other.
He might not know it, but he is the reason why not a single person died on the wall after he arrived on the battlefield.
His job is healing the injured and boosting his ally’s attack. All the arrows his ally releases are now three times faster than normal. It can also easily pierce enemy armor, even though said armor is designed to protect them from arrows.
With his father joining the battlefield, he knows he needs a place to reach him and his group. He cannot stay on the tower and wait for his father to return. He takes the [Pendant of Flight] and flies to the sky.
He flies to the sky between the fortress and the people on the ground. With his ultimate skill, his range is shorter. As a support, his range is long but not as long as a Long-Range specialist like [Gunner] with [Sniper] as their specialties or any [Archer] class.
Gwyn takes a deep breath and claps his hands together. The cards behind him spin wildly, and the Star Globes above him also spin wildly. Gwyndolin, one of the best healers in the Second Life, starts to get serious.
~Three hours later~
The fight is brutal. Even with Gwyndolin as their support, the Cunningham Army still lost some of its men, but it cannot be said the same with the people on the opposite side.
Charles Vortigern grits his teeth when he sees the outcome of the first-day fight. He knows there will be a hard fight, but he never thought it would be like this. He never thought his army would get pushed back instead of them pushing the Cunningham Army. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
He still has one more trump card, his talent. However, he also knows that he cannot use it just yet. Not only because it takes a lot of energy from him to the point of him going unconscious, but it also has a long cooldown.
It will take three months for him to be able to use it once more.
There is only one thing he can do.
"Retreat. Sound the signal to retreat. We need to preserve our numbers while waiting for the other army to come from the south."
The Gokuya kingdom is huge, and moving their army north will take time. Charles thought he could at least break the fortress that would let them go north, but it looked like they needed their full army.
"Also, send our fastest bird to inform the other to move faster. I have the feeling the North will not stay idle while we wait. Their ally will come, and we will have a bad time. Ask for more medics and healers. Lastly, inform the king of the existence of Gwyndolin Cunningham and ask him to send some of his personal spies to give us information about him."
"What should I tell His Majesty, my lord? I don’t think he will send his personal spy with only your word, my lord."
"Tell him that he is even more dangerous than Alexander Cunningham."
Charles knows how to deal with a great swordsman or great magician, but he never once encounters someone like Gwyn, a healer, and supporting person.
"Tell him that he is a person that the kingdom has never faced since the time of its founding. He is someone who can make sure his ally stays alive on the battlefield while they are fighting. Someone who can restore their stamina and heal their wounds, someone who can make our enemy immortal. Gwyndolin Cunningham, the Life-Giver."
