I Try To Enjoy My Life But This Woman Keep Calling Me Villain-Chapter 171: Reward
|3rd POV|
Celebration is what is happening in Belltown City because of the news that the dungeon has been conquered.
"Look at me!"
Ander laughs as he climbs on top of the dungeon boss’ corpse. The boss for the dungeon is a giant scorpion that can shoot out a poison miasma from its mouth and release corrosive liquid from its tail.
The armor around its body is so tough that the people who want to butcher the monster take what is valuable. Because of this, Duke Itor decides to send a rider to the capital to ask for high-end magic tools to do it.
While waiting for the rider to return, Duke Itor decides to show the others the corpse to increase morale. While they are not the ones killing the monster, the people know that there are people who can protect them from powerful monsters.
They also know they can win the incoming fight if the Six Stars Party is fighting alongside them.
While the others are celebrating, Gwyn and his companion are inside Duke Itor’s office, talking about the dungeon they conquered.
"There are more than two thousand monsters but less than three thousand monsters in that dungeon. Most of them are monsters with a defensive body."
"What do you mean by that?"
"Most of the monsters inside that dungeon have armor that is tough to pierce and destroy. We need extra power to destroy their armor. Luckily, the dungeon is not too deep, only three floors before the boss."
"That means they are less in number but compensate for it in strength, huh?"
"Not really. We already kill the low-level monster outside the dungeon. We kill around two thousand monsters."
Duke Itor widens his eyes and nods.
"You are right. Continue."
"Right. The boss is a giant scorpion. It releases miasma from its mouth, shoots corrosive liquid from its tail, and it can control sand. I think the researcher calls that thing [Sand Lord]."
Duke Itor nods and says.
"It is the [Sand Lord]. That thing is an S-rank monster that can control sand with tough armor that only high-level magical gear can pierce."
"It is tough. Not only does it have great resistance against physical attack, it also has a good resistance against magical attack."
Duke Itor nods his head and thinks for a few seconds. After a few seconds, he looks at Gwyn and his companion and says,
"Originally, I wanted to give you magic tools as a reward, but by the look of it, you did not need it. The one you guys carry is even more powerful than anything I can imagine."
When he hears the word magic tools, he perks up and says.
"What kind of magic tools? Weapon? Or just daily magic tools?"
Duke Itor blinks for a second before saying.
"I have both."
"Tell me more about the magic tool you want to give me. The one that can be used daily."
"Alright." 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Duke Itor said it slowly and did not know what to think about Gwyn’s tone. On the other hand, Gwyn’s companion only smiles at his behavior as they know that Gwyn is a magic nerd. They know that Gwyn will make sure to uncover the secret of the magic tool that will soon be given to him.
"The first one I want to give you is something called [Sand Boat]. This boat lets you easily sail through the sand desert. It is not working on a hard surface, but it can set sail when you are on the sand. It is faster than a camel or horse."
"How does it work?"
"I’m not a magician or any magic enthusiast, so I don’t know much. However, I know there is a webway inside the boat that makes the boat move on the sand. A crystal inside of it is already enchanted so that it can fuel this webway. You only need to feed the crystal until it turns green, and it should last for four hours if you are using it non-stop."
"Interesting. I wonder why many people did not use this boat to go through the sand desert."
"Because there is a problem with the Rocky Desert. They did not know where to place this boat. Belltown is located in the middle of the Sand Desert, so using this boat will not be a problem. The reason why I want to give it to you is that you can store them inside your weird magic."
Gwyn nods in understanding. He can see why the other cities did not use this kind of boat. It will be useless as most cities are in a rocky desert or normal ground. Not only that, he knows that the boat will be baggage for a merchant after they are across the Sand Desert.
"I see. That is a good one. Is there anything else?"
"Rainmaker. We have a magic tool called rainmaker, and just like its name suggests, it is a magic tool that can summon rain clouds to water the plant."
"Oh! How big and how long will it rain?"
"Depends on the mana you feed it. However, I must say that there is a maximum capacity of two hours of rain before the tool stops working."
"Two hours, huh? How heavy will the rain be if I push it to the limit?"
"A lot of water. It will be a downpour. It will not be much to my territory because we are surrounded by water, but to the territory near the river... it will be dangerous. It can destroy the farm."
"I see."
Gwyn thinks of the use of this magical device. He can use this device to help the poor territories in the Southern Gipan Kingdom. There is a territory that rarely gets rain, and he can help them with this device.
Not only that, he can also start planting the rarer plant seed inside his pocket dimension that needs constant watering for it to grow. With this device, he can make a great elemental potion that increases his healing spell effectiveness without worrying about the number of potions he has inside his inventory.
Gwyn wants to save those potions because he only has twelve of them, as he does not have the ingredients needed to make them. He had the seed to make the plant but did not have the right place to cultivate it.
With this device, he can create the environment that is perfect for cultivating this plant and ask the elves to take care of it.
"That is a great device. Anything else?"
Duke Itor blinks for a second and nods.
"Well, there is one more. This one is a ring that lets you detect poison in your drink or your food."
"Ah, that. We already have that kind of ring."
"Then it will be useless to you, huh?"
Gwyn thinks for a second and says.
"You know what? We will take the first two magical tools."
"Really?"
"Yes. We will take those two as compensation for this dungeon."
"Are you sure? It is expensive, but I don’t think it will be worth your service. The reason why I mention the magical tool is because of the magical weapon that I intend to give you. However, seeing your equipment, I know these gears are not worthy of the one you guys are currently wearing."
Gwyn shakes his head and says.
"Don’t worry about it, Duke Itor. It is worth it. I want to learn what kind of magic is inside these devices, and that is worth the money."
"Then what about your companion?"
Duke Itor looks at Gwyn’s companion. Silva chuckles and says.
"Don’t worry about it, Duke Itor. We know Gwyn. How about this? When we are done with the other dungeons, you can pay us with money that is appropriate for our service."
Silva put her finger on Gwyn’s mouth when she saw him ready to say something.
"What do you think?"
Duke Itor nods his head and says.
"Of course. I will make sure to pay you the appropriate amount for the service."
"Great! Then we will work harder for that payday."
Duke Itor smiles, gets up from his seat, and says.
"Then I will leave the safety of my territory in your hand, Six Stars! Your action will not be forgotten for the next four generations of Itor!"
While the people in Belltown celebrate, the people in Mantah City, the capital of Verlagan Kingdom, are busy preparing to march to help Belltown against the incoming monster wave. While Gwyn and his companion are busy fighting in the dungeon, Duke Itor makes sure to send a letter to the capital to tell the situation and ask for more reinforcement.
The king had already ordered one more thousand men to be sent to the eastern frontier.
While the others are busy preparing for the march, the king looks at his prime minister and says,
"Say it one more time."
The prime minister swallows his saliva as this is the first time he hears his friend and king look this mad.
"We found a web of spies from the empire, Your Highness. They are why the promising adventurers who refuse their offer die early."
The king takes a deep breath and says in a low but cold voice.
"Take all the men you need. I want them dead. All of them."
