Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Upstart Noble Heir

|3rd POV|

Jonathan grits his teeth in anger as the upstart little shit keeps badmouthing his lord even after his father told him not to.

He wants to kill or even torture the young heir but decides to hold himself together because he does not want to disappoint his lord with his impulsive action. He knows that if the young heir dies while his lord is still in this place, it will cause problems and crack between the Cunningham family and his vassal.

"However, if that little shit keeps doing this... I don’t know if I can hold myself back."

Jonathan mutters under his breath while rubbing the end of his bow. He decides to follow Nathaniel to see what he is planning because he knows this type of person. He already met this type of person when he was still living on the street.

They will think of themselves as untouchable beings and will do anything to destroy someone who slights them, even when their target is someone in a higher position than them. They do not know what is good for them, and most of those people who have this behavior get killed without them knowing it.

However, before they get killed, Jonathan knows that they will do something stupid, and he does not want this little shit to do something stupid to his lord. So he follows Nathaniel through the empty streets of Blackmore City.

Jonathan frowns and gets deeper when he sees Nathaniel enter one of the taverns. He takes out a jar and opens it. Inside the jar is a corpse of flies and a mosquito he killed. With his lord’s permission, he decides to kill and preserve (With the help of Gwyndolin) to be used as his puppet.

He takes a deep breath and puts his hand on the jar. Twenty mosquitoes and flies were flying out of the jar a few seconds later. Jonathan orders his puppets to spread and slowly get inside the tavern. One of the mosquitoes even manages to land on Nathaniel’s hair and hide so Jonathan can hear what Nathaniel is saying.

One of the flies lands on the corner of the room to see who is the person talking to Nathaniel.

"Oh! Nathan! Come on! Drink!"

What Jonathan sees is a group of young men surrounded by scantily clad women rubbing their hands too close to the man’s crotch. Nathaniel smiles, and one of the women walks toward him and hugs him gently.

Nathaniel laughs lightly and sits next to a man wearing a fur outfit. He is wearing the stereotype of an arrogant young master. Expensive fur clothing, gold necklace, and rings, surrounded by young women rubbing their hands on his body.

If Gwyndolin sees him, he will say that this man is the definition of an arrogant young master.

"How is your day? How is that heir Cunningham doing?"

"I got in trouble because of that bastard."

"Oh? Tell me more."

Jonathan can hear Nathaniel start to talk about his father slapping him because of a single mistake that fixed itself without him needing to do anything and how his father forbade him from bad-mouthing Gwyndolin.

He almost fires an arrow at Nathaniel and the man next to him as they continue to bad-mouth his lord. He manages to hold himself together as he hears the man beside Nathaniel say something he knows he needs to report to his lord.

"Do you have a solution, bro?"

"Solution, huh? Well... I have a connection you can use."

"What kind of connection?"

The man put a piece of paper on the table. Nathaniel looks at the paper in confusion and says.

"What is this?"

"Oh? You did not know about this, huh? Well... this is a rare item that costs quite a bit of money. This paper is the calling card of an underworld group. It was a group of assassins, saboteurs, and Black Merchant who sell illegal items."

Nathaniel looked at the man in front of him with a shocked expression.

"I will not charge you for that card because you need your money for the plan I have in mind."

Nathaniel looks away from the card and looks back at the man before him.

"What is your plan?"

"I think it is high time for your father to abdicate, and that card will help you. You can hire someone who can dispose of your father.... painlessly."

Nathaniel looks at the man in front of him for a few seconds and says.

"How much do they cost?"

"Oho! You are interested in this, huh? Well, it depends on the person. However, ten thousand golds should do the job."

"My father is a pacifist. The Jiran family needs a new leader that can bring it to a new height."

"And you will be the one bringing it to a new height. Good. I will support you."

"Thank you, brother!"

"Not a problem. Anyway, you cannot call them just yet."

"Huh? Why?"

"Your biggest enemy, the upstart heir of Cunningham. You cannot contact them as long as he is in this city. You need to make him go away from this city before you can contact them. As much as I don’t want to admit it, he is a great magician. The strongest in the kingdom."

Nathaniel looked at the man in front of him in shock. His belief is now completely shattered by that news. He thought that Gwyndolin was truly fake. A person that did not have any talent in magic that he could beat if he put his attention enough into his training.

However, hearing that Gwyndolin is the strongest magician in the kingdom.... It broke something inside of him—mostly his pride.

"A-Are you sure? Is he truly the most powerful magician in the kingdom?"

The man in front of him nods his head with a serious expression. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"Yes. I might not be the heir of my family, but I have connections in the north, and you will not believe that the old fossil who is always studying magic declares that Gwyndolin is even more powerful than him in terms of magic."

"I see. Speaking of heirs... Why don’t you use this card to make yourself the heir of your family?"

"And inherit that trash pit? No, thank you. I’m rich because of my business, and I don’t want to inherit that place and the debt."

Nathaniel nods his head and says.

"I see."

"Bah! Don’t think about my family. Let us talk about yours. As long as Gwyndolin is in this city, he will detect something is not right, and you will be killed for trying to kill your father."

"You are right. When should I contact these people?"

"Hmmm... Calling them after Gwyndolin and his group leave will also cause a problem. We want them to either return to Shadowfall City or stay in another city. That is the best thing to do, but we cannot have that. Let’s call them three days after Gwyndolin leaves the Blackmore city."

Nathaniel nods and gives a sinister smile.

"I cannot wait."

Deciding that he has heard enough, Jonathan walks away from his hiding place and goes back to his lord’s side.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"And that is all, my lord."
I look at Jonathan, who reports back what he heard. I expect some kind of plan to woo Silva or something because of how he looks at my fiance, but I don’t know if it will be this big.
"Gwyn. We should come and report this to Lord Jiran. This kind of thing deserves a death penalty."
"She is right, father. Killing your own father is a sin that cannot be forgiven easily, and only in death will let him be forgiven."
"I think we should kill him immediately, young master. He dared to talk like that behind your back... it was something that could not be forgiven easily. If you want to, I can kill him and make sure it looks like an accident, young master."
Silva, Sonia, and Jullian talk at once. While they say it differently, they have the same goal. They want Nathaniel to die a horrible death by their hand if they can.
I can only sigh and say.
"Please don’t murder him without him doing anything to us."
Jonathan looks at me and says.
"So what should we do, my lord? Don’t you want to kill him for what he says and does to you and Lady Silvanna?"
"Oh, don’t get me wrong. I’m angry. I don’t mind how he talks to me, but what he has done to Silva is something I cannot forgive easily."
Not only ogling her, but that little shit also tried to touch her bottom, thinking that I did not notice it. If I did not stand next to her, he would touch her butt.
"However, we cannot do anything when we do not have any proof."
"Then what should we do now, Gwyn?"
I give my companion a big smirk and say.
"Even though I did not do anything at the moment, that doesn’t mean that I did not have any plan."
