I Transmigrated as a Villainess to Raise Babies, and My Beast Husbands Are Fighting Madly Over Me!-Chapter 117: Dare to Hurt My Mother, I’ll Bite You to Death
DING DONG.
"Timed Quest: The host must lead the cubs to hoard 550 pounds of food for the winter. Mission Difficulty: Three Stars."
Qiao Xixi was woken by Xiao Yao’s voice. She sat up with a frown, rubbing her throbbing head.
’Is anything edible okay?’
"Yes, Host. It doesn’t matter if it’s fruit or raw meat. After completing the quest, you’ll get 300 more points. Hurry up!"
Qiao Xixi yawned. ’It seems that no matter where a woman is, opening up the system store is an invitation to shop herself blind.’
Although she had spent 10 points on seeds last night, she couldn’t bring herself to buy anything else. Even so, she had a great time browsing. She completely lost track of time and only fell asleep as dawn was breaking.
Qiao Xixi put on her animal hide clothes and stepped out of the house. The first thing she saw was the three cubs sitting on small wooden stools, peeling white fruits.
"Mother, you’re awake! Go eat. Father Jin Ling made you meat soup and flatbreads."
Qiao Qiao put down the fruit in her hands, ran to the stove, and brought the food that was keeping warm to the dining table.
Looking at her sensible cub, Qiao Xixi’s heart melted.
"Thank you, Qiaoqiao. What are you all doing?"
Qiao Ang looked up and said, "These are the white fruits Auntie Gu Man brought over. Father Jin Ling told us to get all the grains out of them."
Qiao Xixi glanced at the nearly full wooden bucket and asked Xiao Yao, ’Does this count as food hoarded by the cubs?’
"It counts, Host, but it’s not enough."
’Got it.’
After she finished eating, Qiao Xixi propped her chin on her hand, wondering how to get 550 pounds of food without leaving the tribe.
"Qiao Lie, you guys go to the backyard and grab a few wooden baskets and bamboo hampers. We’re going to catch fish-beasts in a little while."
"Okay."
Qiao Xixi moved the grains they had shelled into the house to store them. When she came out, the cubs were all waiting, holding the wooden baskets.
Qiao Xixi picked up two wooden buckets and pushed open the unlatched courtyard gate. Jin Ling was just outside, chopping firewood.
"Jin Ling, I want to take the cubs to the stream to catch fish-beasts."
Jin Ling stacked the chopped firewood neatly. "Alright, let’s go together."
When Qiao Xixi and the others arrived at the stream, there were already quite a few beastmen in the water catching fish-beasts.
Just like before, Jin Ling led them to a less crowded spot upstream and placed the wooden baskets in the water.
The cubs also took off their clothes and dove into the water, catching fish-beasts barehanded with Jin Ling.
Qiao Xixi was about to take off her outer layer and get in the water when she felt a cold gaze on her. She instinctively clutched her clothes and glanced behind her.
But there was nothing behind her except the forest.
Qiao Xixi frowned and decided not to get in the water after all.
The three cubs changed into their beast forms and followed Jin Ling in the water, herding the fish-beasts into their baskets.
Soon, the three wooden baskets were full.
Jin Ling burst out of the water, droplets glinting like gold on his bronze muscles. He looked bold and powerful. The smile he gave Qiao Xixi was even more dazzling than the sunlight.
Qiao Xixi was instantly captivated.
"Xixi, the baskets are full. Bring the buckets over." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Qiao Xixi snapped back to reality. "Coming, coming!"
The fish from the three baskets were poured into the buckets, filling them up immediately.
"There’s no more room. Why don’t we just process the fish-beasts here?" ’That way, we won’t have to keep running back and forth,’ she thought.
"Okay, I’ll handle it."
With that, he looked back at Qiao Lie and the others. "Qiao Lie, you guys take the baskets and put them back where they were."
"Okay."
Jin Ling took out a bone knife and quickly processed the captured fish-beasts.
"I’ll go find some big leaves to wrap them in."
Jin Ling stopped what he was doing. "I’ll go. You stay here and watch the cubs. I’ll be right back."
The view by the stream was wide and open, but the same couldn’t be said for the forest.
"Alright, I’ll watch the cubs here then."
"Mhm."
Jin Ling put down his bone knife and quickly headed into the forest.
Qiao Xixi’s eyes remained fixed on the cubs splashing in the water, terrified that something might happen to them.
"Qiaoqiao, don’t go where the water is too deep—AH!"
Before Qiao Xixi could finish her sentence, someone grabbed her from behind by the neck and slammed her head against a large rock.
Qiao Ang was closest to Qiao Xixi. Seeing her attacked, he let out an AWOO and shot out of the water, rushing ashore to sink his teeth into the attacker’s thigh.
"AH!"
Gu Li cried out in pain and was forced to let go.
"How dare you hurt my mother! I’ll bite you to death!" Qiao Ang snarled and lunged at Gu Li.
Qiao Xixi steadied herself. When she got a clear look at Gu Li’s face, she froze. Half of his face was covered in black totems, giving him a sinister and bizarre appearance.
"Qiao Ang, be careful!"
Hearing the commotion, Qiao Lie and Qiao Qiao also rushed ashore. The three cubs worked together to surround Gu Li.
Gu Li glared at Qiao Xixi, his eyes filled with hatred. "It was you! You, this lowly Wandering Beast female, you killed Youyue and reduced me to this! I want you all dead!"
Gu Li roared and charged at Qiao Xixi, brandishing a bone knife.
Qiao Ang snarled, leaped up, and spat a jet of flame at Gu Li.
"AH!"
The flames burned Gu Li’s eyes, and he stumbled backward. Without his beast soul, he was no match for the three cubs.
Qiao Lie quickly wrapped himself around Gu Li’s legs, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ground.
Qiao Qiao grabbed a rock from the ground and smashed it down on Gu Li’s hand.
"AH!"
"You damn Wandering Beasts! I want you dead! I want you dead!"
Gu Li raged, but the three cubs had him pinned down, and he couldn’t get up.
Qiao Xixi stepped forward and kicked him in the stomach. "You’re in this mess today because you’re a fool. You have no one to blame but yourself."
"Gu Li! All of you, stop!"
A furious roar echoed as Gu Yu, in his beast form, charged over and knocked the three cubs and Qiao Xixi to the ground.
"Gu Li, Gu Li, are you okay?"
"Father, kill them! Kill them!"
Gu Yu’s eyes were filled with murderous intent. He spun around and lunged at Qiao Qiao, who was closest to him.
"Qiaoqiao!"
Just then, a golden figure shot forward, sweeping Qiao Qiao into a protective embrace.
"Bad beast! I won’t let you hurt my sister!"
Qiao Ang spat a jet of flame, setting Gu Yu’s tail on fire.
Gu Yu’s pupils darkened. He bared his fangs and pounced on Qiao Ang.
Jin Ling quickly placed Qiao Qiao in Qiao Xixi’s arms before turning to charge Gu Yu, ramming into him just as he was about to reach Qiao Ang and sending him flying.
ROAR!
A tiger’s roar shook the heavens.
Gu Yu was sent flying, crashing hard against a tree.
"You harmed Gu Li! I’ll make you pay!" Gu Yu roared and started fighting Jin Ling.
Qiao Lie and Qiao Ang showed no intention of backing down. They coordinated with Jin Ling, steadily forcing Gu Yu into retreat.
Qiao Xixi clutched Qiao Qiao, her eyes glued to the fight, terrified that they would be hurt by Gu Yu.
Qiao Xixi was so focused on the cubs and Jin Ling that she didn’t notice Gu Li, who had been playing dead on the ground, had already gotten up and slipped away silently.
