Chapter 254: Murderous Assessment

At the branch office of the Liqing Corporation in S City, a car with an extremely mysterious license plate parked on the opposite road attracted the attention of the employees.

Qiu Tong was wearing a comfortable suit with her hair tied into a high ponytail. She carried her sports-style backpack and kept scrolling through the messages she had received on her phone as she waited for Terrence in the hall.

The elevator slowly descended. Terrence walked quickly to her while tidying his suit. He said in a friendly manner, “Hello, Madam Qiu Tong. I’ll bring you to the 20th floor for the interview…”

“You’re applying for the position of a bodyguard, so there might be a test of your professionalism. Is that okay?”

Qiu Tong nodded quickly and sized up Terrence from the corner of her eye. Although he looked like a common assistant, she had a nagging feeling that something was strange. For example, Terrence’s gaze made her feel uncomfortable. Was it just her imagination? 𝘧𝚛𝗲𝘦𝚠𝙚𝙗𝙣o𝙫𝗲𝚕.𝐜o𝓂

When the elevator reached the 20th floor, her eyes focused on other distracting thoughts as she followed Terrence to a spacious room.

There was no one else in the office. It was strangely quiet.

Qiu Tong saw a boxing ring in the middle of the room and looked at Terrence in confusion. The latter quickly explained, “The Liqing Corporation is very powerful and influential. It’s inevitable that they will think of ways to attack the General Manager and launch a sneak attack on the family. A personal bodyguard needs to have some ability.”

“I don’t think you will mind if we conduct some tests and evaluations on you?”

Terrence asked politely as he picked up the protective equipment on the ground. “Sure.”

Clap! Clap!—Terrance clapped his hands with a smile as three burly men with bare upper bodies walked out of the door.

Their weight was more than twice or even three times that of Qiu Tong. Their bodies were filled with tight muscles, and the killing intent in their eyes and their professional attacking postures made Qiu Tong instantly nervous.

She chose a corner of the arena and stood there with her back to the corner.

Terrence pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and said lightly, “Please spar with each other. Don’t hurt each other.”

Qiu Tong narrowed her eyes and raised her fist to block her face. As if they had discussed it beforehand, the burly men attacked her from three different directions. A heavy fist was aimed at her abdomen. She nimbly bent down and tried to dodge, but she still suffered a hit to her cheek.

The metallic taste of blood filled her mouth as she spat it out, adjusting her breathing.

The combatant’s attacks were powerful, but his agility was inferior to Qiu Tong. She quickly realized that she absolutely couldn’t be besieged by all three at once. She picked the seemingly weakest opponent and raised her right leg to kick his knee. After striking the same spot consecutively, the opponent’s body quickly swayed unsteadily.

Qiu Tong then found the right opportunity to circle around him. She stepped on the rope of the boxing ring and jumped up, kicking fiercely at the chest of another burly man.

The opponent immediately fell outside the ring. Qiu Tong had expended a lot of stamina, and she used her arm to wipe the sweat from her forehead.

Terrence narrowed his eyes and looked up at the surveillance camera in the corner of the room. Via his Bluetooth earpiece, he soon received the order. He nodded at the two remaining burly men on the field. They instantly took out two batons from behind their waists…

Qiu Tong’s eyes widened abruptly. She turned to look at Terrence and questioned, “Is this also part of the assessment?”

Terrence shrugged and nodded. “Of course. When we encounter an attack, none of us can determine if the other party is carrying a weapon. How you will deal with it as part of our assessment. Please do your best. They won’t hurt you.”

Bullshit! Qiu Tong nearly cursed out loud.

The moment the burly men appeared, they were filled with killing intent. She gritted her teeth and retreated. From the corner of her eye, she saw a short stick on the ground and took the opportunity to pick it up and attack. She knew that if she continued to fight with them, she would definitely not have the slightest advantage.

She deliberately exposed an opening to attract the burly man over. Their batons aimed for Qiu Tong’s weak spots, her waist and knees.

Crack! Qiu Tong could hear the bones in her body cracking. Her eyes turned red as she gritted her teeth and secretly covered her palm on her elbow. She used her special ability to heal her injuries before abruptly breaking the wooden stick, revealing sharp wooden stumps.

Qiu Tong’s stick pierced the left side of the burly man’s waist, causing blood to drip onto the ground.

Terrence hurriedly stopped her in surprise. She leaned against the railing unsteadily and took off her protective gear. Wiping the blood from the corner of her lips with the back of her hand, she asked weakly, “How is it? Did I pass the test?”

“Can you bring me to see the boss?”

Qiu Tong’s sharp gaze was focused on Terrence. Who was behind this almost brutal and murderous “assessment”?

The burly men supported each other as they left the room. Before they left, their eyes were filled with fear and admiration.

When Terrence received the instructions through his earpiece, he put on a proper smile and directed Qiu Tong to the other office.

After passing through the long corridor, she pushed open the wooden door at the end of the corridor.

Creak—the door slowly opened. The bright lights blinded her for a moment, and then she saw Yu Ge’s disgusting face!

“It’s you?!”
