Chapter 824: 824 My Hero Academia: Class 1-A’s Despair, Mirko Shows No Mercy, Allen’s Shameless Love Life, and Final Exam: Bakugo and Deku vs. All Might, and Midnight and Lady Nagant vs. Allen.

In the monitoring room, Aizawa watched the students, their expressions turning serious as they realized just how difficult this test was going to be.

’To be honest, this test is harder than I would’ve liked...’ Aizawa shook his head. He had held the title of the strictest teacher for years, but this was too much even by his standards. ’All because of Usagiyama-sensei, adding those disadvantages, and then Tsutsumi-sensei suggesting we give them barely any time to think up strategies.’

Mirko nodded in satisfaction and turned to look at the students. Under her gaze, several of them turned pale. They hadn’t thought it possible, but there was someone even more terrifying than Kaina.

"Eijiro Kirishima and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu have failed. Next up: Ectoplasm vs Fumikage Tokoyami and Tsuyu Asui... you have five minutes to reach your testing area," Mirko said with a sharp smile and piercing eyes. "What are you waiting for? Hurry up!!"

Tsuyu and Tokoyami flinched, exchanged glances, and without a word, took off running. Both figured they could devise a strategy on the way.

Mirko smirked as she walked over to Allen, who was sitting in a chair, and without a shred of shame, sat on his lap. She didn’t care about the surprised looks from the other teachers, nor the deadly glares from Kaina and Nemuri.

"Brats, I’ve seen recordings of your past training, and I saw how comfortable you had it. It’s true that most of the time, heroes have the chance to come up with plans and strategies—but that won’t always be the case." Mirko leaned against Allen’s chest as if he were the most comfortable couch in the world. "In the future, you’ll face situations where there’s no time, where a single instant is the difference between life and death... and you don’t get to choose the conditions."

"Yeah..." Kaina added, "Originally, Principal Nezu suggested testing your teamwork. I agreed, but I wanted to increase the difficulty by giving you very little time to do so."

Hearing that, several students felt immense pressure weighing down on them.

....

Tokoyami and Tsuyu arrived at the testing area—a massive circular blue room with enormous pillars stretching up toward a very high ceiling. There were many doors on different levels, and the objective was the same: defeat, capture, or escape from Ectoplasm.

The test began, and Ectoplasm started creating clones. Individually, they were strong—but not strong enough. Tokoyami, with Dark Shadow, was able to destroy them without much trouble.

However, Tokoyami’s weakness became apparent—he lacked mobility. Several clones closed in on him, but at the last moment, Tsuyu saved him, and the two managed to escape.

When everyone saw that they had managed to escape from Ectoplasm for a while, it gave them a bit of hope—but something soon changed. Tokoyami began to cough. Before Tsuyu could figure out why, she started coughing too.

Mirko smiled.

– Active Disadvantage: Silent Poison

"Poison?!" Momo exclaimed. "This is insane!"

"Mirko-sensei?" Allen frowned at this.

Still sitting on his lap, Mirko smiled. "It’s not real poison—just a harmless toxin that makes it hard to breathe."

"That’s supposed to be better?!" Kaminari shouted.

....

Tokoyami and Tsuyu reached the next room. They gave up on defeating Ectoplasm and decided to escape instead. However, to their surprise, they encountered a giant clone of Ectoplasm, which captured Tokoyami.

With his other arm, he attacked Tsuyu; upon impact, the enormous arm shattered the wall, sending a cloud of dust and debris flying. But then something unexpected happened.

"Where is she?!" exclaimed Ectoplasm’s original body from behind the giant clone when he didn’t see Tsuyu.

"Here I am..."

"...!"

Tsuyu avoided the surprise attack, moved out of its line of sight, and struck from above, successfully placing the handcuffs on Ectoplasm.

The result left everyone speechless—except Allen. He knew that Mina, Tsuyu, and Jiro had spent a week training with Ryuko. Since Mina kept provoking her, they’d had to survive multiple encounters with a dragon trying to crush them.

"In short, thanks to Ryuko, Tsuyu has experience dealing with huge enemies," Allen said.

Mirko smiled in satisfaction. "Good, I like that girl. The other brat didn’t do too bad either!"

Everyone felt encouraged seeing that passing the test was possible.

However, they were being naive.

....

(Ojiro and Iida vs Power Loader)

This test took place in an open field. Power Loader had a Quirk that allowed him to dig through the ground at high speed, filling the terrain with trap holes.

"Brats, put on the collars!" Kaina’s voice came through the speakers.

Iida and Ojiro had been given two thick, suspicious collars—their disadvantage. They nodded and put them on.

– Active Disadvantage: Explosive Collars!

The collars were designed to explode if they got too far apart, preventing Iida from abandoning Ojiro and completing the escape alone.

"What a brilliant idea..." Nemuri said, her tone dripping with sarcasm and venom as she looked at Mirko. "Also, how long are you going to stay in his lap, you shameless bunny?!!"

Mirko scoffed. "If you want a turn that badly, just say it."

Nemuri blinked, then smiled seductively. She walked over to Allen and, in a way only she could manage, sat on his lap while pushing Mirko aside with her hips.

Nemuri didn’t have the strength to do that to Mirko—but Mirko was too surprised by the boldness to react. One of Mirko’s bad habits was focusing so much on fighting villains that she sometimes overlooked other things—like the fact that Midnight was the worst possible opponent when it came to intimidation through embarrassment.

Mirko who was stripped of her throne, felt a surge of rage that quickly turned into a murderous instinct.

Seeing this, Allen made the most logical decision: he sat Nemuri on his left thigh and Mirko on his right.

"That was pretty abrupt—I like it❤️~" Nemuri smiled seductively.

"Hmph" Mirko snorted but calmed down.

Fortunately, despite their strength, neither woman was very tall, and despite his age, he was tall enough to have both women on his lap without looking strange.

Everyone in the room turned pale. Were they really supposed to ignore this?! It’s impossible!

In fact, if Nemuri weren’t worried about getting Allen into trouble, she would’ve been even more shameless than Mirko.

Many teachers chose to look away from what was clearly happening between Allen and the two women. Some students refused to accept reality, while Momo, Toru, Mina, Itsuka, and even Ochako glared daggers at the two women.

Was this seriously happening?!

Back to the test.

Iida decided to force his way through. He sprinted at full speed with Ojiro riding on his back. Despite carrying someone, his speed wasn’t reduced enough to fall into Power Loader’s traps.

This simple strategy proved very effective—not only did they avoid the traps, but they didn’t even have to worry about the explosive collars.

Both of them passed.

....

The next test was Momo’s. She looked a bit nervous, but noticing this, Allen approached her and whispered a few encouraging words that made her blush, while also easing her anxiety.

"Good luck," Allen said, gently patting her head.

"Of course—just watch!" Momo declared confidently before turning and walking away.

Aizawa glanced at this and shook his head, realizing his original plan wasn’t going to work.

Momo’s original weakness stemmed from her mother—the pressure she experienced as a child and the constant scrutiny over everything she did caused her to grow up with confidence issues.

Aizawa had planned to exploit that—but with Allen’s presence, that weakness had disappeared. This fight was going to be difficult to win.

Allen gave Aizawa a silent look. Strangely, it sent a chill down the spine of the man who could face the most dangerous villains without fear. No words were exchanged, but subconsciously, Aizawa decided not to be as harsh on Momo.

....

(Aizawa vs Momo and Todoroki)

The battle took place in a replica of a typical Japanese neighborhood, known for its small houses and narrow streets.

This time, the disadvantage was simple—but very inconvenient, forcing them to act quickly.

– Active Disadvantage: Time Limit

Aizawa managed to bind Todoroki with his bandages while erasing his Quirk. He analyzed the situation and felt it was too easy.

He was right; it wasn’t over yet.

Momo set up an ambush, just as he expected—throwing several grenades. When they exploded, they released both smoke and pepper spray.

"..." Aizawa wasn’t a rookie. He had faced countless villains targeting his weakness—his eyes. After all, without them, he couldn’t erase Quirks. But precisely because of that, he knew how to deal with such predictable attacks.

He first covered his own mouth and nose with his bandages, and that was enough—his goggles allowed him to keep his eyes open, so, Todoroki was still being held captive.

"A bit too simple, brats," Aizawa said.

"..." Todoroki remained silent, closing his eyes to avoid the pepper spray.

When Aizawa thought Momo’s attack was over, something happened. A shadow appeared behind the smoke and gas.

It was Momo, holding a lighter.

"Sensei, do you know what dust explosions are?" Momo didn’t hesitate and threw the lighter.

Aizawa’s eyes widened, his pupils shrinking. He tried to shield himself as flames engulfed him—and the entire area exploded.

"Not a bad attempt," Aizawa emerged from the explosion with some burns on his clothes. "But it’s not enough!"

"I won’t let you!" Now free, Todoroki attacked Aizawa—but Aizawa had already anticipated it, dodging the ice spikes. He ignored him and went straight for Momo.

"Heh..." Momo flashed a mocking half-smile that reminded Aizawa of the troll Allen.

"...!" Aizawa felt a bad premonition. Of course, he had anticipated Todoroki’s attack after breaking free—but he couldn’t move in time to react. ’Huh?! Poison?! No—she used a colorless, odorless toxin!’

Todoroki took advantage of that moment to freeze him, securing their victory.

In the monitoring room, everyone was stunned—except Nemuri, who looked proud, and Allen, who smiled at the outcome.

Momo could create countless things from nothing, giving her many ways to fight—from traps to chemical reactions.

The grenades she used fulfilled their roles: the first was smoke, the second pepper spray, the third flour for the dust explosion—but all of them were just a cover to hide the fourth—a paralytic toxin.

Momo returned to the monitoring room with her head held high. She approached Allen, and they exchanged a high-five.

"Still think I’m a bad influence?" Allen asked.

Momo smiled, her cheeks slightly red. "Yes—you’re the worst!"

"..." Allen was left speechless.

Rei – That face is priceless hahaha

Rebecca – How does it feel getting trolled by your own pupil? hahaha!

Rias – That girl used to be a refined lady, and little by little she’s turning rebellious. Congratulations on dragging her down the path of evil~

...

The next test was Aoyama and Ochako vs Thirteen, held in a large room. Their disadvantage was a set of masks they had to wear before starting.

– Active Disadvantage: No Voice Communication

Despite that limitation, the test was very quick. The moment they encountered Thirteen, she activated her Quirk, which began sucking in everything around her.

Ochako and Aoyama grabbed onto a pipe—but the girl, who had been trained by Mirko, didn’t hesitate. She let go, forcing Thirteen to stop using her Quirk.

She took advantage of that moment to land a kick. Once Thirteen was on the ground, she applied a hold, and Aoyama—still dazed—aimed his navel laser at her.

Everyone was left speechless. This aggressive fighting style contrasted sharply with the sweet girl they all knew.

However, Mirko-sensei nodded in approval.

....

(Nezu vs Mina and Kaminari)

– Active Disadvantage: No Capture

Mina’s disadvantage was that she wouldn’t be able to capture Nezu even if she found him. This eliminated one of the ways to pass the test.

However, neither of them was worried. From the start, they had no intention of capturing Nezu—they planned to escape instead, believing he wouldn’t be very agile.

They soon realized how naive they had been.

This test was unfair.

From start to finish, the "rat/bear/dog" known as Nezu used a crane to tear down the entire testing area, which was an industrial park. An easy task for his Quirk, "High Spec." With intelligence capable of calculations as fast as a supercomputer, every future move Mina and Kaminari made was predictable.

No matter where they ran, Nezu always knew where they were.

Contrary to expectations, their training with Ryuko wasn’t useless. Mina managed to last nearly three times longer than Kaminari, who ended up crushed under debris.

Mina returned to the monitoring room covered in dust and clung to Allen’s legs.

"This is so unfair!"

"You did well—you just drew the short straw," Allen chuckled. "You’d probably have a better chance of escaping from All Might than from Principal Nezu."

"He’s seriously terrifying... are you sure that’s not a future-seeing Quirk?" Kaminari said, trembling as he remembered the constant feeling of being watched.

The rest of the students wore thoughtful expressions, trying to figure out how they would beat Nezu—but the answer wasn’t simple.

"Even I would have a hard time escaping that situation," Nemuri said, trying to comfort them.

"It’s impossible for me," Present Mic added with a shrug.

Everyone’s faces grew even more tense, but Allen, noticing this, smiled.

"Nezu’s calculations are incredible—but they’re absolute, but for U.A. students, escaping those calculations is extremely difficult... isn’t that right, Principal?"

Allen looked toward the entrance of the monitoring room.

"It’s true" Nezu walked in, holding a cup of coffee. "It’s very difficult. U.A. has detailed records of your Quirks, strengths, aptitudes, talents, habits, limits, personalities, techniques, and even your emotional states. Every bit of information becomes another variable that helps me determine where you are. On top of that, I know every inch of U.A. like the back of my hand..."

"That’s cheating!" Mina shouted—but immediately regretted yelling at the principal and hid behind Allen.

"I think so too," Allen said, unlike Mina and Kaminari, showing not even a hint of restraint.

Nezu didn’t get upset. Instead, he smiled—or at least, it seemed like it.

"Don’t worry. Unlike other years, failing doesn’t mean you fail the course. Your performance during the test is also evaluated to determine your grade."

Hearing that, the eyes of those who had lost lit up.

"Of course, Kirishima-kun and Tetsutetsu-kun aren’t naive enough to think they passed, right?" Kaina asked with a chilling smile.

....

(Jiro and Ibara vs Present Mic) 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

The setting for this test was a forest.

– Active Disadvantage: Initial Separation

This disadvantage forced Ibara and Jiro to start separately. Because of that, Jiro ended up encountering Present Mic before she could find Ibara.

The fight ended very quickly.

At first, Jiro was overwhelmed by Present Mic’s sound waves. After all, his Quirk seemed like an upgraded version of hers.

Just when it looked like Jiro was about to lose, vines erupted from the ground, capturing Present Mic.

"Who thought it was a good idea to fight the vine girl in a forest?!" Present Mic shouted.

In the monitoring room, the teachers looked at the situation in confusion. No matter how they analyzed it, it seemed like Present Mic had been given the disadvantage—not the girls.

Nemuri, who was standing next to Allen, leaned closer and whispered into his ear in an unnecessarily flirtatious tone, "Nagant was in charge of choosing the locations, but during the meeting, Yamada-sensei (Present Mic’s last name) said something that annoyed her—’Tsk, I don’t care which student I have to evaluate, just don’t pair me with that monster.’—this is the result~"

Insulting Allen in front of Kaina? Present Mic is lucky to get off with just that.

"He brought it on himself," Allen mocked, not feeling the slightest bit embarrassed that Kaina was favoring him so openly.

Nemuri laughed and was about to bite Allen’s ear, but Kaina stepped in and separated them.

"Don’t go near him..." Kaina threatened.

"Are you jealous?~" Nemuri teased.

Both students and teachers were left in shock. This woman treated them like wall decorations.

Didn’t she realize how hard it already was to ignore their borderline inappropriate relationship when they acted this shamelessly?!

....

(Eyeshot vs Toru and Shoji)

This battle took place in a room filled with pillars and columns as obstacles.

As for the disadvantage:

– Active Disadvantage: Reduced Space

This limited the number of available rooms for escape, although it didn’t affect them much since they never planned to escape to begin with.

There was no drama.

Shoji distracted Eyeshot, and Toru placed the handcuffs on him.

It was almost ridiculous that the man with the second-best aim in Japan was defeated like that—but unfortunately for him, his natural counter was Toru.

Toru returned proudly after her victory, expecting praise from Allen. He didn’t disappoint—patting her head, which made everyone look at him with disdain.

At this point, he wasn’t even trying to hide his romantic life.

Some of the boys had red eyes from envy, while others like Bakugo and Monoma looked at Allen with contempt.

....

(Sero and Monoma vs Midnight)

This test took place in rugged terrain filled with rocks everywhere. Their disadvantage was simple—but made the test extremely difficult.

– Active Disadvantage: Both Must Escape

In other tests, one student escaping was enough for victory—but this time, that wasn’t allowed.

This fight was extremely unfair.

In fact, it was one of the most unfair matches.

Midnight-sensei didn’t hold back at all—she attacked immediately.

Sero and Monoma aimed their elbows at Midnight and fired tape (Monoma had copied Sero’s Quirk).

But it didn’t matter.

Nemuri easily dodged the attacks, slid toward them, and once she got close, activated her Quirk—Somnambulist.

Both Monoma and Sero instantly fell asleep.

"That’s terrifying..." Jiro gasped.

"That pervert is stronger than I thought," Kaina muttered, biting her nail.

All Might shook his head helplessly. "Kayama-sensei, you could’ve given them a chance..."

....

With that test over, only two remained.

When the final matchups were announced, everyone was shocked.

Bakugo and Deku vs All Might.

Allen Walker vs Lady Nagant and Mirko.

Allen would face two Top Hero–level fighters, while Deku and Bakugo would face the number one hero.

....

McDragon – Seriously? There’s no mystery. Allen should win easily.

Saeko – Who knows...

Jugram – What do you mean, woman? Do you doubt His Majesty?

Lucy – Hey, is that how you talk to His Majesty’s girlfriend?~

Jugram – ...my apologies.

Gwen – What do you mean, Saeko?

Saeko – Allen’s weakness is pretty obvious, isn’t it?

Eve – Women...

Mirajane – Ara, you don’t think they’ll use a honey trap against him, do you?

Raven – Mmm, more likely they’ll take advantage of the fact that Allen has a close relationship with both of them.

Thor – In that case, couldn’t he just ignore them and escape?

Tony – Allen? Running away? I doubt his pride would allow it... Then again, he’s also a shameless bastard. Never mind—he’ll run.

The Emperor – Allen’s disadvantage will force him to fight...

PercyJ – When the Emperor speaks, it sounds less like speculation and more like certainty... that’s scary.

Annie – Don’t underestimate the test. After all, it was designed by that genius humanoid rat...

Soon, the details of Allen’s test would be revealed—and it would give new meaning to the word "difficult."
