It was early in the morning, and Class 1-A was focused, listening to Midnight's lesson.
The woman was dressed in an office outfit as she walked between the rows. Despite all the rumors about her, she took her job very seriously. This was reflected in her light blue eyes, which stared intensely at anyone who wasn't paying attention.
"As the decades passed, culture and art began to revolve around 'Quirks.' This brought changes in every field. As you already know, the gradual disappearance of the traditional Olympic Games was replaced by different events around the world." said Nemuri, then winked.
Although the class was titled "Modern Art," it encompassed a broad range of knowledge about how Quirks had impacted the world. Of course, it focused on their impact on culture.
"In Japan's case, the U.A. Sports Festival was crowned as the top competition. However, it's not just that—painting, music, dance... are some examples. All of them were reinvented in a world where miracles manifest every day."
As she passed by Allen, she placed her hand on his shoulder. Though it seemed like a casual action, she caressed him with clear intimacy.
"Do you have any questions, young hero?" she asked with a seductive tone. If it were another teacher, people would think she was flirting with Allen—but since it was Midnight, they assumed it was normal, obviously ignoring the fact that they had never seen her touch any other student besides him.
Unexpectedly, it wasn't a boring class for Allen. Coming from the twenty-first century, he found this quite interesting.
"Yeah... well, that means many former artists and athletes lost their jobs, right?"
Nemuri smiled, happy that Allen was showing interest in her class. She knew that "Modern Art" wasn't the most interesting or useful subject for students, but if she could at least pique Allen's interest, she would already be very happy.
"There was nothing that could be done to avoid it~" Nemuri caressed Allen's shoulder again without feeling it was strange. This made several male students angry and some girls jealous. "How could a normal dancer compete with one who can float or create ice crystals while dancing? How could a runner, no matter how much they train, compete with someone who can run at the speed of sound?"
Nemuri shook her head and touched Allen's cheek. "While Quirks could be banned in competitions—and they were—the truth is they lost a lot of audience. At the end of the day, people will wonder: " Is that truly the fastest man in the world if speedsters exist?"
Nemuri noticed the suspicious looks from Momo, Itsuka, Mina, Ochako, and Toru. Those girls already knew that Midnight was Allen's guardian, but that only made them more suspicious, since Nemuri seemed excessively intimate with him.
Reluctantly, she removed her hand from Allen's face. She couldn't believe she had to hold herself back like this with her Allen. As revenge, today she would definitely bathe with him and cuddle with him to sleep—this would teach them that her position was completely different. Of course, deep down, it was just an excuse to do exactly that without seeming like a pervert. (It wasn't working.)
....
In the afternoon, they had class with Ectoplasm. Since it was a math class with a strict teacher, everyone was tense.
*Ding*
At that moment, Allen's phone rang.
Some students got scared.
Ectoplasm always demanded excellence and was very harsh with mistakes, but he did it so that hero course students wouldn't be dazzled only by more popular classes like those of All Might and Lady Nagant.
"Allen," Momo whispered urgently, urging him to turn off his phone.
"Mr. Walker... have you forgotten the rules of my class?"
Kaminari trembled. He had been scolded more than once by Ectoplasm, so he knew how bad it was to interrupt this class.
Monoma and Bakugo mocked Allen for his arrogance in leaving his phone on, Itsuka, Todoroki, Tokoyami, Deku, and Jiro watched him silently. They knew Allen wasn't careless enough to forget to silence his phone—so it had to be something important.
Allen checked his phone before standing up. "Actually, there's something..."
"I see."
Far from getting angry, Ectoplasm turned back to the board and continued writing an equation. Allen waved briefly in farewell and left the classroom, leaving everyone confused.
"What does that mean?!" Bakugo shouted.
That made Ectoplasm stop writing and turn to him with an emotionless gaze.
"Katsuki Bakugo, stand in the hallway. At the end of class, you'll stay for detention..."
"Ugh..." Bakugo choked back his words. His hands clenched and his teeth ground together. He hated accepting that Allen was receiving special treatment. He couldn't accept that Allen had obtained a license. He couldn't accept that he was so far behind him.
Bakugo walked out of the classroom in silence and stood outside. The veins on his face bulged, and his eyes were bloodshot. Even when he lost during the entrance exam, he had never felt inferior. Even during the first attack of All For One, he only thought he was behind Allen—but that he would eventually catch up.
Bakugo had been defeated by Allen in training, tests, and exams, again and again—but he never felt like Allen was unreachable. However, during the Sports Festival, when he saw Allen face off against All For One and demonstrate his power, and then shortly after when Allen defeated him so decisively that even his biggest explosion couldn't harm him, for the first time, he felt pure inferiority.
That unpleasant feeling kept growing and growing, to the point it burned like lava in his stomach. And now, Allen was even receiving privileges they didn't have.
Bakugo had always been seen as a genius, as someone special, destined for greatness because of his powerful Quirk—but all of that paled like the light of a firefly before the sun that was Allen.
Slowly, darkness began to form in Bakugo's heart—deep and rooted—a darkness that would inevitably be noticed by dangerous people.
....
Allen stood on the rooftop of U.A. while returning All Might's call. He had sent a message with little information.
—"Urgent: I need you in Tokyo"—
"What's going on?"
"I'm sorry, Allen. I know you were in class, but there's a situation..."
Allen frowned and flew as fast as he could.
....
In the world of My Hero Academia, high-speed magnetic levitation trains had become the preferred way to travel long distances in short periods of time. Due to their high safety standards, it had been decades since one of them had an accident.
But this couldn't even be called an accident.
From the control center, they realized that the bullet train traveling from Kyoto to Tokyo had begun to accelerate. When they contacted the driver—who, despite having little to do in an automated system, still existed to provide human control in emergencies—there was no response.
When Allen saw the train from the air, it was moving at a terrifying speed: 950 km/h (600 mph).
Gwen – Modern bullet trains only reach about 600 km/h max, but as expected from the future, this is almost airplane speed.
"All Might," Allen tapped his earpiece, "these trains operate automatically, right? Can't they stop it from central control?"
A villain shouldn't be able to hijack a bullet train. There was simply no way.
This scenario was illogical, since maglev trains don't have engines—the propulsion comes from the track itself, on which they levitate.
"That was the first thing we tried, but the central computer was corrupted—or rather, deceived. It still indicates that everything is fine... so, as far as the computer is concerned, the train isn't accelerating out of control."
"Huh? Then why don't they just reboot the system?!" Allen frowned.
"That's... the issue. Doing so would disrupt the entire train network, causing massive financial losses. Despite the Commission's attempts to speak with the Secretary of Transportation, that option is still under discussion!"
"Stupid bureaucrats," Allen scoffed.
"I feel the same way, which is why I asked you to come—I'll take full responsibility!"
There were still a hundred miles left to Tokyo, but at that speed, it would arrive in less than ten minutes.
"Ha... alright, I'll stop it..."
"You can?" All Might's eyes widened, but then he remembered Allen had an electromagnetic manipulation Quirk—he should be able to.
However, what Allen did next almost made All Might fall over in shock.
....
— Breaking News: We have just received reports that the Kyoto/Tokyo high-speed train line has been compromised! Authorities and heroes are evacuating the station in Tokyo and several surrounding blocks—
— Do not take this lightly. Expert estimates suggest the impact would be devastating—
The public was alarmed by the incident. How long had it been since something like this had happened? No… it hadn't happened—heroes had always managed to stop villain attempts before things reached this point. They knew that once it did, no one would be able to stop it.
People all over the country were glued to the news on television—heroes and villains alike. It was an extremely serious catastrophe.
International media picked it up as well, and it reached the eyes of heroes and villains in other countries.
Suddenly, the national news anchor seemed agitated.
— Wait, we've just received new information! We've been told that someone is trying to stop the train… stop it? What do you mean stop it? Weren't they already doing that? What do you mean it's not the same?! Do we have visuals or not?! —
Thanks to modern high-speed drones, images could be obtained far faster than news helicopters could arrive.
When the footage was broadcast, the bullet train appeared on screen—and someone flying at the same speed alongside it. A red cape and a black-and-red suit contrasted sharply against the white train.
— A hero?! —
Very few heroes could fly—and even fewer at that speed.
....
"..."
MJ – What are you doing? Use Misaka-chan's template.
Magneto – Mine should be enough...
"I don't have them anymore… neither Biri-Biri, nor Thor, nor Erik… I don't have any template with electrical or magnetic abilities right now..."
Saeko – How can your luck be this bad?!
Allen smiled boldly. "Do I really need to remind you that the goddess of luck hates me? Maybe she was my ex-wife in a past life and I cheated on her or something."
Erza – This isn't the time for jokes! What are you going to do?!
Allen looked at the train thoughtfully. Then he noticed the people watching him from the windows—among them, a little girl holding an All Might figure.
Allen's smile faded for a moment.
"I guess I'll have to do this the old-fashioned way..." Allen smiled confidently again and then gave the passengers a thumbs-up.
Then he accelerated and positioned himself in front of the train.
Rebecca – You're crazy—it's like trying to stop a mountain that's decided to walk.
"Rebecca, that doesn't help… and that's nothing..."
Allen sharpened his gaze. The key was not to stop the train abruptly—he had to cushion it and gradually reduce its speed.
Allen smiled confidently. "There are Supermen capable of pulling entire solar systems. This is not—!"
The moment he placed his hands on the train, his bioelectric field and tactile telekinesis connected with it, distributing the force evenly across its structure—
"Ug!..."
—and Allen felt the muscles in his arms begin to tear apart.
Rebecca hadn't exaggerated.
"Ah!"
Allen's body was slammed against the nose of the train, which was approaching the speed of sound.
"Don't mess with me!" Allen, who cared a lot about his image, hated the idea of ending up like a bug on a windshield, so he steeled his will and forced himself upright.
As Archimedes once said: Give me a lever and I will move the world. The world was the train, the power was Archimedes—and Allen… poor Allen… was the lever, the one who would bear it all.
An object with a mass of four hundred tons at that speed would have the impact equivalent of 3.4 tons of TNT. Letting it pass would be devastating. Of course, structural damage was the least of it—the loss of the five hundred people aboard was what truly mattered.
"Allen..." All Might watched with wide eyes at what Allen was attempting. His expression tightened immediately as he grabbed the microphone. "Don't tell me you don't have any electromagnetic-type Quirks right now?!"
The U.A. operators froze, waiting for the answer.
"All Might… right now… is not the best time to call me..."
"This is madness!"
"Do you have a better idea?!" Allen shouted as blood began to flow from his nose. "If not, then let me cook this mess!"
His bones creaked, his muscles strained to their absolute limit. Allen hadn't been Superman for very long; he couldn't compare his strength to the ridiculous feats that various versions of the Man of Steel had performed.
'Honestly… I don't like being a hero...'
His heart pounded, pumping oxygen through his entire body.
'It's easier to be a bastard… I don't like people expecting things from me… that's why I prefer to show them who I really am...'
The heaviest burden fell on his cells. Normally, with this Template, they functioned like energy cells, storing solar energy—but now, the energy he had accumulated over these past months began to burn at an incredible rate, pushing his special metabolism to its limit. If Allen didn't have the enhancements granted by the system, he wouldn't have been able to endure this strain.
But it wasn't in vain—the train stopped accelerating.
'Ha… I don't like that look… You know, little one, I'm not a good person...'
Allen felt blood vessels throughout his body bursting under the pressure, blood spilling from his mouth and nose—but he didn't care as long as he kept reducing the train's speed.
"I've killed many people… I've destroyed an entire civilization… I've tortured others… that look should be for someone else… not me."
Crack
Unable to endure any longer, one of his arms broke. His muscles kept the bones from misaligning, but his strength dropped—and the train began to accelerate again.
The people watching couldn't help but look away. In the end, it was impossible.
However, some didn't.
Among them were Allen's guardians. Despite their worry—and in Nemuri and Ryuko's case, tears—they kept their eyes fixed on the screens.
"You know, once you asked me why I risked so much to protect that boy..." Nezu said as he entered the room where All Might was. "I'll say it one more time: just trust him. He may be a handful and have a thousand flaws, but when it really counts, he won't let you down."
"Principal..."
....
[Hey, this is no time to reflect!]
'System?'
[You have plenty of templates—switch to another one. You never run out of options, so why stop thinking? Don't tell me it's just stubbornness?]
The system's words were true. Allen had many templates—several of them should be able to handle this situation. But from the start, Allen never considered switching templates.
'I know… but you see, I'm a very stubborn guy. Besides, I don't want to make Clark look bad after he's helped me so many times.'
[Tsk… fine. Then pull power from somewhere—or motivate yourself!]
'Of course… I don't want to lose… no… that's weak… I don't want to look bad—no, not that either… pride? ego? courage? willpower? for the people? …maybe.'
As Allen began to regain strength and stop the train with his last effort, a soft, familiar voice reached his ears.
??? – What if that were our daughter?
'Who? Daughter?... that's true..." Allen smiled slightly. "It's an incredibly simple motivation."
But!
The train shook, causing the passengers to panic and hold on. But among them, the silver-haired, scarlet-eyed little girl from before remained calm, as if it didn't affect her, simply staring forward.
The train slowed down even faster—more steadily than before—and, to everyone's disbelief, it came to a complete stop just 7 km from Tokyo Station.
As for Allen, he remained at the front in silence, with a calm expression, as if the previous effort had never happened. However, he didn't move from his position—he simply floated about a meter above the ground, his hair covering his face.
When the drone moved closer, a shocking truth was revealed…
Allen had lost consciousness.
When? How was he still floating?
No one could answer—but one thing was certain:
On this day, something happened that would only be seen once in a lifetime.
....
???: To you, who hasn't been born yet, you can take Mom's word for it—your dad is an amazing person...

A/N: I didn't expect this turn of events either—it was just supposed to be a quick stop before camp. 🍷🗿
