Chapter 82: Chapter 82: He’d Even Be Willing to Offer Himself

"Boss Lockwood, I wouldn’t recommend ordering that much summer apparel all at once. At our current pace, even if we worked around the clock to rush the job, it would take five months at the very minimum to produce everything you’ve ordered."

"It’s already the end of July, and August is right around the corner. By the time we complete production and deliver the clothes, it will already be winter."

"If you sell summer apparel in the fall and winter, the price is bound to drop. It would be better to order just two to five hundred pieces of each design. The limited quantity prevents a situation where everyone on the street is wearing the same outfit. When people can’t get their hands on it, they become even more eager for the next new release."

"In your business terms, this is what you’d call hunger marketing."

"We also have new styles for the fall and winter, including outerwear and base layers. Boss Lockwood, perhaps you’d like to take a look and place an order for those as well?"

Hearing that Dylan Lockwood wanted to order such a massive quantity, Oscar Osborne, who was standing nearby, was so overjoyed he nearly jumped for joy.

But then, Grace Winslow suddenly spoke up.

He opened his mouth, on the verge of telling Grace Winslow to stop talking nonsense.

’Only an idiot would turn down guaranteed money.’

’An order of that size from Dylan Lockwood, for so much product at once, would net the factory at least a million.’

’That’s a million we’re talking about!’

’After deducting costs, the net profit would be as high as a million.’

’After all, the price they were quoting was indeed very high.’

’It was only because they currently had no domestic competition that they could command such a high price. Otherwise, a single piece of clothing selling for three to five yuan would be the absolute maximum. How could they possibly sell for double digits?’

Dylan Lockwood’s eyes lit up even more. He spoke excitedly, "Miss Winslow, are you certain you won’t consider coming back to Portara with me?"

"I can give you anything you want. A villa, a luxury car, an annual salary of a hundred thousand... as long as you’re willing, it’s all yours."

"It would be a terrible shame for a rare talent like you to go to waste, Miss Winslow."

"Boss Lockwood, I have no interest in going to Portara. Regarding my earlier suggestion, what are your thoughts?" Grace Winslow said, rejecting him again.

Dylan Lockwood didn’t answer right away, feeling a pang of regret.

’How could a talent like Grace Winslow not be tempted by personal gain? He’d made such a generous offer, yet she still turned him down.’

But there was still business to discuss.

The designs for this collection were unlike anything he had ever seen. They perfectly matched the aesthetic in Portara, and he was certain they would sell well overseas, too.

"A thousand pieces of each design. We don’t just sell in Portara; we have markets in Oakhaven and Briarhaven, as well as overseas. Your designs are perfect for export."

"Director Osborne, I think it’s time for your factory to expand its production lines. Taking four or five months for this amount of clothing is far too long," Dylan Lockwood said slowly after a moment of thought.

Oscar Osborne just smiled without saying a word.

Dylan had tried to poach his star employee right in front of him several times now. He was annoyed and didn’t feel like engaging with the man.

Dylan Lockwood wasn’t offended by the reaction. He simply turned to Grace Winslow. "Miss Winslow, this is my business card. If you ever change your mind, you can call me anytime. I’ll be waiting."

"Can you show me the design sketches for the fall/winter collection?"

Grace Winslow gave a slightly sheepish smile. "Ah, you’ll have to wait a moment. I’ll sketch them for you right now."

Dylan Lockwood and Ethan Grant were utterly speechless.

’They had both assumed Grace Winslow had the sketches ready. They never imagined she could draw them on the spot!’

’What kind of freakish design prodigy was she? Her talent was simply off the charts.’

Dylan Lockwood felt another surge of regret. ’Why can’t I manage to poach a talent like her?’ 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

’At this rate, he might even have to consider offering himself up.’
