I Returned to the Day He Brought His First Love Home-Chapter 62: Have Some Foot-Washing Water
"How about a drink of my foot-washing water? Your mouth is so foul, it could use a good rinse." Grace Winslow threw the water on her and slammed the door shut.
Having unleashed her anger, she instantly felt invigorated.
Flora Chase was so furious she was jumping up and down.
The shouting match quickly woke the neighbors on either side.
They came out one by one to ask what had happened.
Flora Chase told them her side of the story, with plenty of embellishments. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
She fully expected them to agree with her.
Instead, they all looked at her as if she were a complete idiot.
"Are you serious, Flora Chase? Have you lost your mind? Grace Winslow was spot on—if there’s something wrong with your head, you should go see a doctor about it."
"Seriously, who do you think you are, some kind of reincarnated saint? Why don’t *you* adopt the child?"
"After how disgustingly Ivy White and Caleb Forrest behaved, you expect Grace to just forget the past and raise their illegitimate child?"
Everyone thought the idea was utterly absurd.
Just imagining themselves in that situation was enough to make their blood boil.
After being berated by everyone, Flora Chase hung her head and scurried away.
In the end, it was Oscar Osborne who went to the hospital, paid the admission fees, and found someone to help look after the child.
After a whole night of running around, he didn’t get back to the factory until after five in the morning.
With no time to rest, he immediately began preparing for the meeting.
First thing in the morning, Mrs. Sawyer, the factory’s resident loudspeaker, was already spreading the news about Ivy White again.
By the time work started at eight o’clock, everyone in the factory, whether it was their business or not, knew what had happened last night.
Many couldn’t help but sigh over the whole affair.
As they gathered for the morning meeting, everyone was buzzing, chattering about the whole affair.
May Callahan tugged on Grace Winslow’s sleeve. "They didn’t cause any trouble at your place, did they?"
"Don’t even get me started. Last night..." Grace Winslow then recounted her encounter with Flora Chase.
May Callahan was torn between anger and satisfaction.
The fact that Grace had confronted Flora Chase and thrown foot-washing water on her was just immensely satisfying.
She took a deep breath. "That Flora Chase really has a screw loose. I’m definitely giving her a piece of my mind the next time I see her."
Grace Winslow wasn’t concerned, though.
She had already gotten her revenge on the spot. She never let a grudge last overnight.
Oscar Osborne looked exhausted, but he still arrived on time.
After a few introductory remarks, he cut straight to the chase. "As you all know, our factory ends up with a large quantity of defective fabric every year, more than we can dispose of."
"Many employees are careless in their work, dyes are mixed improperly, or we have problems like warehouse leaks, dampness, and poor storage. As a result, we accumulate over two tons of fabric each year that cannot be sold to the public."
"Over the years, this has piled up, and now the warehouse is nearly full of this fabric."
"To solve this problem of backlogged fabric, Comrade Grace Winslow has devised a plan to create a new source of revenue for our factory."
"The Department of Commerce has already given us their approval. As long as we reprocess the fabric into finished clothing, we can clear out this long-accumulated stock and also generate revenue for the factory."
"At the end of the year, that means everyone will be able to receive an additional bonus."
"However, our factory doesn’t have a garment production workshop. We now intend to assemble a team to establish one, dedicated to producing this batch of clothing on a tight schedule."
"Because the timeline is a bit tight, we only have three months."
"Anyone in the factory who knows how to make clothing is welcome to sign up. For now, we only need fifty people. We will expand our recruitment to the public later, so if you have any relatives or friends who know how to sew, you can tell them to come by."
"Also, starting today, anyone in the factory with a talent for fashion design can submit design sketches to the factory. If your design is chosen, you will be awarded a ten-yuan bonus for each sketch."
"Furthermore, for every one hundred pieces of that designed garment sold, you will receive an additional one-yuan reward."
"Alright, that’s everything I needed to cover in today’s meeting."
"I have one last thing to announce. Comrade Grace Winslow’s plan to generate new revenue has solved a major problem for our factory. After a unanimous decision by the leadership, we are awarding Comrade Grace Winslow a bonus of five hundred yuan."
The moment he finished speaking, the whole place erupted into a clamor. Even Grace Winslow’s face was a picture of utter disbelief.
