I Level Up Dragons with My Evolution System-Chapter 77: The first bosses of the Wind Dungeon? (3)
"Eggs from the Wind Falcon!" Aurora said in shock. "And hundreds of them!"
Edward wasn’t looking at the eggs, but feeling various things above his head from the butterfly’s vision that had managed to settle in the middle of the room.
"I think we arrived at the perfect moment," whispered Edward with a slight smile.
Aurora trembled a little, not out of fear, but out of joy. "How many are there?" she asked.
"Five," Edward smiled.
"Good... Good." She laughed. "It’s time to fight, Edward. With five of them, they’ll be able to combine well."
"I wonder who will win in this battle of combinations, then..." He laughed.
Suddenly, they both felt a strong wind blowing around them. It was as if several powerful currents were shaking from side to side, trying to drag them away.
These currents did not hit the eggs on the ground, only the intruders.
One of the falcons swooped down on them, even though it couldn’t see naturally. The wind filtering through the eggs and hitting its enemies told it their exact position.
Edward raised his sword and the hawk’s talons were firmly caught in it.
His body moved forward dramatically, swinging his sword to strike the beast’s talons and much of its legs. The hawk was sent flying backward by the force of the impact.
"It must be as strong as that last Wight I faced," Edward thought and smiled. "But now I am much stronger than when I faced it."
As he pushed it back, he activated one of his spells.
Embedded Ember.
A small ember with high penetrating power shot toward the Falcon and lodged itself in its body. At the same time, two other embers lodged themselves in different parts of the Falcon’s legs.
"UAGHH!" The eagle slammed into the walls of the room and a burning pain enveloped it, burning it from within. The more it tried to move, the more pain it felt.
Edward ran towards it, moving between the eggs with agility and precision, without killing them. They were important for later refilling the dungeon with beasts.
His sword was soon surrounded by intense fire.
Terminal Spark, in its fourth phase, Edward had managed to give it a couple of interesting forms. The first was to divide it into equal parts, which ended up hitting different targets.
The second... was on his sword.
He called it: "Fire Enchantment: Phase 1." He was convinced that, in the future, he would be able to create a Phase 2 with more powerful magic.
His sword swiftly drew across the Falcon’s body, creating an arc of fire that fiercely clung to its flesh and feathers. Simultaneously, he moved it downward vertically, forming other furrows of fire.
The Falcon screamed in agony, alerting its companions to move.
But they did so too late.
The fire butterfly disappeared from where it was... Shortly after, the wind caterpillar appeared.
The timing took a moment, but the instant it was done correctly, Edward swung his sword with a horizontal slash toward the Falcon’s neck.
The burning fire was already slowly killing it, so a wind attack with high penetration and great precision like this was naturally deadly.
[You have killed a Level 15 Enduring Wind Falcon.]
[Wind Caterpillar has gained 275 Experience Points.]
It was a good amount, though nothing great, but it was satisfying.
He immediately set his sights on the other hawks... Aurora was fighting two of them... Well, they were trying to survive the onslaught of someone so powerful.
Edward practically arrived to finish them off with precision and kill the last two on his own.
Even though they were level 15, the difference in strength was remarkable. For Aurora, it was practically child’s play. But even Edward was able to take it in stride.
Soon, all five heads were on the ground.
[Experience Points: 1,100/2,263.]
"I overestimated these things," Aurora said with a mocking tone. "The last time I came here, I was so weak that for a moment I thought I was still the same, but they’re so weak..." She laughed with a long sigh.
"I also thought they would be stronger. I’m genuinely disappointed," Edward acknowledged as he searched the corpses of the hunted beasts.
"These are indeed valuable beasts. We should take the skeleton as well; powerful weapons can be made from these raw materials," said Aurora, completely deboning one of them before moving on to the next.
She was agile at this, unlike Edward, whose movements were still clumsy. But it was Edward who had good luck this time.
As he opened the chest of one of the hawks, he managed to touch something that sent electric shocks through his body. However, he managed to resist them without any problems and grabbed the Elemental Core with his bare hands.
"It seems we’re in luck this time." Edward smiled as he handed it to Aurora. "Here, I hope to see your Spider with its new evolution soon."
Aurora had to carefully wrap it in cloth, as the electric shocks could stun her. "Thanks, Ed. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to evolve it properly," she said firmly with a determined smile.
"I’m sure you will."
They took their time to store all of the falcons’ important belongings before finally deciding what to do.
"We should try to go deeper. Although several hours have passed, we still have time before Instructor Mervan’s missions arrive," Edward said.
"Isn’t your beast close to leveling up?" she asked, still surprised that the term "leveling up" could be used so simply.
He nodded. "I’m halfway to level 9. I’d be satisfied if I could get there."
"All right." She smiled, and without thinking, they walked to the other side of the room, where there was a huge door that led them deeper into the dungeon.
When they opened the door, a strong gust of wind hit them.
The wind was strong in this area and seemed to come from the depths of the cave. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
The gusts of wind were so strong that even walking was difficult for them.
"That’s the power of a beast in its third evolution," said Aurora, moving her Spider forward to counteract the wind. "Resisting its attacks from a distance is part of fighting it, but it seems to be conscious. It will be very difficult to get inside."
Edward looked thoughtful... He nodded. "It will be enough to go up to level 9," he said.
’A beast in its third evolution, could it be level 30? That’s quite a high level,’ he thought, as they walked inside and began the hunt.
