Chapter 55: Chapter 55 Philosopher

Lin Feng’s open and shameless provocation completely disarmed Ning Xi, striking her with such sudden force that her thoughts momentarily blanked out.

She hadn’t expected it... hadn’t prepared herself for such blunt, audacious words and in that fleeting moment of shock, Lin Feng seized his opportunity.

He sidestepped her smoothly, his movements swift and decisive, reached for the door, and slipped out of the room without a second glance.

The door closed softly behind him.

Ning Xi remained where she was, frozen in place, staring at the spot he had just occupied.

"What... did he just say?" she wondered inwardly, her thoughts tangled and unsettled.

A strange, unfamiliar flutter stirred in her chest, sending ripples through her usually composed heart.

It wasn’t anger. It wasn’t embarrassment. It wasn’t even irritation... not entirely.

It was confusion.

She was used to men vying for her attention, showering her with compliments, gifts, promises, and exaggerated devotion.

Ever since she was young, men had looked at her with admiration, desire, and longing, each trying in his own way to win her favor.

Their intentions were usually transparent, their motives predictable.

But Lin Feng was different.

He hadn’t tried to please her.

He hadn’t tried to flatter her.

He hadn’t even tried to impress her.

Instead, he had dismissed her openly, bluntly, and without hesitation... treating her not as an object of desire, but as someone entirely irrelevant to his goals.

That indifference unsettled her more than any confession ever could.

She pressed her lips together, her brows knitting slightly as she replayed the exchange in her mind, analyzing every word, every glance, every subtle movement.

The more she thought about it, the more she realized that Lin Feng hadn’t acted impulsively... his words had been deliberate, calculated, and strangely precise, as though he had intended to provoke her reaction rather than seek her approval.

It was a feeling she hadn’t experienced ever in her entire life... an odd, unsettling mix of surprise, curiosity, and something deeper, harder to define, quietly taking root within her.

Why did his words linger?

Why did his indifference bother her?

Why did she feel... unsettled?

She let out a slow breath and shook her head slightly, trying to clear her thoughts.

She had faced countless admirers, arrogant geniuses, and powerful cultivators before, yet none of them had ever left her feeling this conflicted.

None of them had walked away from her so casually, as though her presence meant nothing at all.

And yet, instead of feeling insulted, she felt... intrigued.

Even later that night, long after she had returned to her home and attempted to focus on her cultivation, Lin Feng’s words continued to echo in her mind.

"Not at all. Don’t assume things and delude yourself into believing them, Teacher Ning Xi. I have my own reasons and besides, you’re not my type. You’re... too big for my taste."

No matter how she tried to dismiss them, they resurfaced, persistent and unrelenting.

Worse still, his face came along with them.

Not just any face but his extremely handsome one, calm, sharp, and unreadable, his eyes steady and unwavering, carrying a confidence that did not seek validation from anyone.

She frowned slightly, sitting upright on her bed.

"...Ridiculous," she muttered under her breath.

And yet, despite herself, her thoughts continued to drift back to him.

Uninvited.

Unwanted.

Unstoppable.

In the end she could not help but ask also.

"Are they really too big?" Ning Xi murmured, genuinely puzzled.

She stood naked in front of the full-length mirror, both hands cupping the soft, heavy weight of her breasts, gently lifting and letting them settle as she studied her reflection.

"Doesn’t he like them big? I thought all men did..." Ning Xi continued to ask herself, but no answer came.

For the first time in her life, she couldn’t tell whether her huge assets were a blessing or a burden.

***

While Ning Xi’s thoughts were still in complete disarray, a storm was already brewing within Spirit Spring Academy.

The moment Li Tianhao registered his duel on the Dao Teaching Platform after storming out of Ning Xi’s classroom, the entire academy began to tremble.

The news spread faster than wildfire, carried by whispering teachers, gossiping servants, and even curious elders who rarely involved themselves in student affairs.

"What? Li Tianhao is fighting that trash teacher, Lin Feng?"

"Are you serious? That useless instructor who can’t even properly cultivate one student?"

"That’s exactly the one! And you won’t believe this... Lin Feng actually agreed to the duel!"

"What?! He agreed?! Is he tired of living already? But he’s still so young!"

"And get this... his condition is that if he wins, Li Tianhao has to crush his own balls!"

The courtyard erupted with shocked gasps, followed by loud laughter, disbelief, and outright mockery.

"You’re joking, right?! Lin Feng? Win?" one instructor scoffed, slapping his thigh.

"Don’t make me laugh! I’d swallow Li Tianhao’s crushed balls if that trash could win tomorrow!"

"What? You’ll eat Li Tianhao’s balls?!" one teacher exclaimed in disbelief, nearly choking on his drink.

"I will!" the other replied confidently, slapping his chest.

"But that’ll never happen anyway. Only a miracle could allow a third-stage Body Refining trash teacher to defeat a tenth-stage expert and genius like Li Tianhao."

Another person nearby snorted. "You’d better prepare your stomach just in case."

"Ha! Don’t make me laugh," the first scoffed.

"I’d stake my entire month’s salary on Li Tianhao crushing Lin Feng in under three moves."

"I suppose you’re right," someone else added, shaking his head.

"But I’ll remember what you said today. If the impossible happens, I won’t let you forget it. Also, you need to tell us how balls taste like after, okay?"

Laughter rippled through the crowd as more people joined the discussion.

Some mocked Lin Feng openly, others debated how long he would last, and a few began placing informal bets... gold coins, pills, and even favors... all wagering on the outcome of the duel tomorrow.

To most of them, it wasn’t a question of who would win.

It was only a question of how badly Lin Feng would lose.
