Chapter 1403: Chapter 337: On My Knees, I Finally Found You

The fear envelops.

The hiding basement was incredibly quiet, so much so that even breathing could be heard.

The thoughts in everyone’s minds were simple.

"Can we survive?"

Just as the rumbling sound had subsided, and everyone thought the giant zombie couldn’t find them and would turn and leave, a deeper rumbling sound echoed.

The whole earth trembled.

Victor urged them not to panic, to stay calm. Though everyone listened to Victor, it was hard to find survivors who could truly calm their hearts at such a moment.

Even if they forcibly pretended to be calm, their trembling bodies still betrayed them.

Victor looked up at the metal ceiling. There was no rumbling sound, but rather the sound of scratching; this sound gave Victor a bad feeling, but he didn’t voice it, not wanting to increase his fellow’s panic.

He suspected that the giant zombie wanted to dig them out.

However, he thought it couldn’t be possible; they were now in the underground shelter of a bunker, covered with heavy steel plates, and even a bombing might not be able to breach it.

As he was thinking this, the sound of scratching above grew closer; it even sounded like nails scraping against the steel plate, clear and harsh.

Other Russian survivors huddled in the corners, holding their heads, covering their ears, shivering in fear from the sound.

Squeak, squeak.

The sound of cracking came from the steel plate above; this sound made Victor’s face change, muttering internally, shouting, no way, it can’t be like this.

Things that are feared often come.

Plop!

Several thick, black-gray fingers pierced through the heavy metal steel plate, an unexpected situation that startled the survivors hiding here, making their hearts tremble with fear.

They screamed, unable to stay calm.

Even Victor stood dumbfounded, unable to come back to his senses for a long time, until the intruding fingers bent and, with a sudden force, tore open the entire metal ceiling. Exposed wires sparked, and in an instant, warm sunlight poured in; they couldn’t feel the warmth, an endless chill washed over them as if they were in an ice cellar.

"Hoo hoo"

A low growl came.

Accompanied by a gigantic head appearing, the bright space was overshadowed by the head. The giant zombie grinned as if smiling, with teeth stained in viscous fluids, and if you looked closely, it seemed you could see remnants of human limbs in the gaps between its teeth.

"Get out."

Victor snapped back to reality, suddenly pulling out the battle axe from his back; he truly did not expect the zombie would rip off the metal roof of their hiding place. This was something they never imagined.

But his roar was of no use to the giant zombie.

The giant zombie’s eyes rolled, as if assessing prey, occasionally revealing a grim, bizarre smile.

"Ah... help."

"Someone save us."

Screams were incessant.

Victor shouted, "Calm down, all Transcendents prepare for battle, our only hope of survival is to fight back, if we don’t fight back, our end will be only death."

With Victor’s roar, the rest of the Transcendents snapped back to reality, indeed, they were now driven into a dead end, completely trapped; wanting to survive, they had to desperately fight the opponent.

As their confidence was regained, they each stared at the colossal entity above, knowing full well the giant zombie was not something they could handle.

But they still persisted.

"Hoo hoo"

The giant zombie let out a strange, low sound, as if saying, a bunch of petty prey trying to oppose it, really a laughable matter.

The giant zombie’s whisker-like tentacles beneath its jaw twisted as if alive, attacking the humans inside.

Victor faced the oncoming tentacle unflinchingly, wielding his battle axe to chop at it; with a slash, the tip of the attacking tentacle was severed, and the severed tip jumped chaotically on the ground.

But for Victor, he felt an immense pressure.

Just cutting a single tentacle felt immensely difficult, requiring a lot of strength; this situation was incredibly stressful. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

When Victor cut off one of the giant zombie’s tentacles, the giant zombie overlooking them seemed furious, as if it couldn’t believe the humble humans had the audacity to cut its tentacle.

"Look, it’s not invincible; as long as we’re brave, nothing is impossible." Victor howled, although he knew the situation was dangerous, he had to raise morale; without it, all would be lost.

"Watch out..."

Just as Victor was speaking, there came an exclamation from behind; he turned to find a tentacle whistling toward him, fast and formidable, startling him enough to quickly swing his axe to block it. With a bang, the axe was knocked flying, spinning high in the air, chopping hard into a nearby metal wall.

And Victor’s chest collided firmly with the tentacle, a feeling like being hit by a car going 200 kph, the intense pain making him feel as if his bones were falling apart, pummeled against the wall, the impact causing a web of cracks to spread from the metal wall in all directions.
