Arlon only listened throughout Karmel’s speech, refraining from asking questions since they were answered almost instantly.

Still, he had learned something far beyond his imagination: the true history of Trion.

Even Zephyrion probably doesn’t know this, Arlon thought.

"But what about the eye skill you mentioned?" Arlon asked, more out of curiosity than expectation.

"I’ve already said all I can about it. You’ll learn more as you grow stronger, but I may not be the one to teach you," Karmel replied.

"I see. Thank you for sharing the story."

"As I said, this isn’t just a story; it’s a warning," Karmel reminded him firmly.

"I understand, but it’s not even certain that I’ll be the one to kill Asef."

"Hmph. And yet, you’ve received significant help from this world," Karmel said cryptically.

Arlon hesitated. Was Karmel referring to EVR’s regression system and his title?

"I don’t know what you’re thinking, but it’s likely about a higher existence since I can’t understand it. If so, you’re wrong."

"How can you know that?" Arlon asked, his confusion growing.

"Simple. You assume only one higher existence has helped you, but that’s incorrect. Even Trion has aided you. Ah, you still think of Trion as just a world? Wrong again. Hmm... No, I can’t say more. You’ll understand in time."

The endless "you’re not ready" trope grated on Arlon, but he had no choice but to accept it.

"Ah, it’s time to return. You’ll encounter three surprises, one of them from me, when you get back—be careful," Karmel said with a sly grin.

Before Arlon could respond, Karmel dissolved into smoke and disappeared. Arlon felt a sudden sensation of falling.

---

Two blonde boys, barely 15 years old, clashed swords in a fierce duel. Their almost identical looks made it clear they were twins.

The boys had the appearance of nobles, but only one of them had blue eyes. The other one had red eyes.

Nearby, a blonde-haired woman with blue eyes lay motionless on the ground, blood pooling near her still form.

"Why did you do this?" the red-eyed boy screamed, his voice cracking with grief.

"It was necessary," the blue-eyed boy answered coldly.

The red-eyed boy’s face twisted in anguish, his expression filled with unrelenting rage.

Their fight dragged on for hours, but the outcome had been inevitable from the start. The red-eyed boy collapsed in defeat.

"I won’t kill you. Consider it a small mercy for having been my brother," the blue-eyed boy said, his tone devoid of emotion.

Arlon woke with a start, his heart racing. The dream of the two boys faded as quickly as it had come, leaving no trace in his memory.

When Arlon woke up, he immediately thought back to what he learned from Karmel.

This content is taken from freeweɓnovel.cѳm.

Even though he still wasn’t sure how much of it was the truth, the information he received was the most helpful.

First and foremost, learning about the last boss was important. Even though he always knew the name Asef, there was nothing pointing to him as the last boss.

He could very well be the strongest Keldar and a normal boss. But now, he was sure.

He looked at the book in his hand, the History of Trion was still there. But there was one small change.

Among the pages of the closed book, one page dangled. When Arlon took it out and read, he instantly understood that this was Karmel’s gift.

The page talked about how to make enchanted equipment.

Just when he was about to read it with excitement, he realized that there was an extra weight on his legs.

Arlon put the paper in his inventory together with the book and took out his sword.

Since he was under the blankets for some reason he didn’t know, he couldn’t see anything on top of it.

But there was definitely something under it.

He held the one end of the blanket, ready to pull it and slash whatever was there with his sword.

But, the moment he pulled the blanket, he saw something weird, something he hesitated to slash.

He then looked at the table in his room and saw that the upper half of the egg was missing.

Yes, there was a dragon sitting on his legs. It was curled around itself, probably using the heat under the blanket.

The dragon was small, only at half the height of the egg, but it was still majestic.

Most of its body was dark purple while some places like the tip of its tail and the tip of its ears were light purple to pink.

The baby dragon got out of its egg when Arlon was sleeping and approached him.

Unlucky for Arlon, like most of the animals, dragons also had imprinting ability. And it had imprinted Arlon as its parent.

Of course, Arlon didn’t know what to do. Let alone a dragon, he hadn’t even held a baby before.

So, he started waiting. For the next 15 minutes, he watched the dragon breathe in and out while its small chest went up and down.

He was literally waiting for the dragon to wake up.

Obviously, it could take hours before it woke up, so Arlon gave up at the 15th minute.

Then, he slowly pulled his legs under the dragon, but the dragon came with the leg.

In the end, he understood that it was impossible to move without removing the dragon from the top of his leg, so he slowly reached for it.

When he held the dragon, though, he instantly felt like some kind of connection forming between them.

But he was still scared. He was only guessing it was a dragon since it seemed like one, but Draco also seemed like a dragon.

So, he didn’t take it to heart and continued carrying the dragon to the table.

He wasn’t inhumane, so he brought the blanket with it and put them both on the table.

The moment Arlon left it on the table, the dragon slowly opened its eyes.

Like every other baby animal, it was cute and had big eyes.

The dragon blinked slowly, its golden eyes meeting Arlon’s gaze. A quiet chirp escaped its tiny mouth, sounding more curious than threatening.

Arlon froze, unsure of how to respond. "Uh… hey there?" he said awkwardly.

The dragon tilted its head, studying him with an almost comical intensity. Its small chest rose and fell as it breathed deeply, seemingly content under the blanket Arlon had placed.

Arlon couldn’t help but marvel at the creature’s beauty. The interplay of dark purple scales with pink highlights shimmered faintly under the room’s light.

Despite its small size, it exuded a presence that felt both majestic and oddly comforting.

"Okay, you’re cute. I’ll give you that," Arlon muttered, still unsure of what to do. "But what am I supposed to do with you now?" Your journey continues at novelbuddy

The dragon responded with another chirp, nudging its head toward him as if seeking reassurance.

Arlon sighed. "Great. Imprinting, huh? I guess that makes me your… parent?" He felt a strange mix of responsibility and dread. I can barely take care of myself, let alone a dragon.

"Hmm... Should I give it to Zack? No, he is worse than me..."

The creature shifted closer, curling into a ball on the blanket but keeping its eyes on him.

"Well, at least you’re not trying to eat me," Arlon said, attempting to lighten the mood.

The dragon chirped again, almost like a laugh.
