Levi sat perfectly still on the Gladine stone, maintaining the meditation posture he'd started with. His eyes remained closed, his breathing slow and controlled.
The extraction process started out gentle at first.
The matrix's formations hummed as it sent waves of energy through the Primordial Godblood Void Dragon heart.
Each vibration gradually broke down the cells within the heart, extracting microscopic amounts of bloodline essence.
Hours passed.
The hear pounded with a steady thump and the beat started to synchronize with the matrix's rhythm.
Each beat released more essence, which the matrix carefully filtered and purified, separating the raw divine bloodline from impurities and the residual beast consciousness.
Levi could feel the process happening even with his eyes closed. The Astra energy in the chamber had become dense, and even the air was filled with an immense pressure as the ancient and powerful bloodline was being striped off its sentient as it pressed down on Levi like a mountain.
But Levi simply ignored the the pressure that was causing pain all over his body.
He didn't dare to risk destabilizing the matrix and making everything he had prepared including his materials go to waste.
So he sat and endured the heavy pressure.
By the time twelve hours had passed, the ache in his muscles had transformed into genuine pain. His legs had gone partially numb from restricted blood flow and his spine felt like it was on fire.
Levi slightly opened his eyes to check the status of the refinement.

'Shit! Hie come only a few hours had passed?'
Levi cursed with twitching eyes. He thought at least three days had passed but only a few hours had gone by.
With a sigh, he closed his eyes and returned to meditating.

When pain be gained too much, the body automatically tunes it out to protect itself.
At this point, Levi had entered a deep-like trance where cultivators can only achieve once in their entire lives.
They called it state of enlightenment.
The heart in the matrix's central chamber had visibly shrunk to about
three-quarters of its original size.
The essence itself had accumulated in the collection reservoir beneath the heart. It looked like pure starlight melted into liquid.
Purple and black mixed together in hypnotic patterns, occasionally flashing with what looked like miniature galaxies suspended in the fluid.
It was insanely beautiful but Levi couldn't see it as he was deep in his trance.
Hours turned to a day and a day into days. Levi's stomach rumbled as a severe hunger hit him like a stroke.
But his body started to chew into his fat reserves to maintain function. Peak Genetic Soldier could survive without food for more than a month but with Levi's advancing in his stage, his engines limited to sustain his body's hunger.

Something changed.
The heart had shrunk to about the size of a baby's fist and the refinement had reached a severe stage.
"Roar!"
A faint roar suddenly woke Levi up from his trance as the residual consciousness of the Voidgod Dragon hidden in the heart began to stir.
Levi felt it immediately. The pressure was unlike anything he had ever felt. It wasn't killing intent or slighter intent, but a predatory intent of a higher being to a lower creature.
The dragon's consciousness seemed to have figured out it was being destroyed and it immediately went berserk.
Levi's face changed drastically as a wave of energy invaded Levi's mind like a wildfire!
Images began flooding Levi's mind.
Vast cosmic voids where stars died and dimensions collapsed. A dragon the size of a mountain range, its scales black as the space between galaxies, its eyes burning with purple flame that could unmake reality itself.
The sensation of having the power to tear through dimensional barriers like tissue paper, to exist simultaneously in multiple planes of reality, to command the Void as an extension of one's own will.
This was what the Voidgod Dragon had been. This was the existence whose heart Levi was attempting to claim.
The beast stood before Levi's tiny spectral dim as it glared indifferently at him.
'You dare,' a voice rumbled through Levi's mind.
'You dare digest a god?'
The pressure intensified. The dragon's will pushed against Levi's mind like a battering ram, trying to overwhelm him, trying to take control of his body and reverse the process.
Levi's eyes snapped fully open. His breathing became labored. Sweat poured down his face despite the cool temperature in the chamber.
This was the consciousness attack that the matrix was supposed to suppress.
But apparently even a Supreme Gene Matrix with quintuple-layer consciousness suppression wasn't enough to completely contain a Mythic-grade beast's residual will. It could dampen it, but not eliminate it entirely.
Levi gritted his teeth as the pressure almost made his consciousness fade to nothingness. But how could he allow himself to be faded like that?
His mind and body was literally formed from hell itself!
A dead dragon's lingering will wasn't going to break him now.
'I've survived worse than you. You're simply a dead beast. How dare you!?'
Levi roared as he immediately activated Asura's Wrath.
Instantly, his consciousness transformed as his body expanded, transforming into a massive eight handed Asura. Various weapons in his arms as a berserk killing intent filled the entire space.
Not only that, he activated his slaughter aura and immediately activated slaughter pattern! He actually skated to refine the beast with his slaughter technique!
"ROOOOOAR!"
It was a divine dragon, a voidgod creature that could twist and warp space with a snap of its fingers. It
couldn't believe an ant was actually trying to refine it!
The dragon's presence rippled like a tornado In an ocean. But it couldn't move much due to the chain from the matrix Levi had activated.
