I Can Transform Into Any Monster-Chapter 39: Counter Attack
Chapter 39: Counter Attack
"Boy, if you don’t want to make things difficult for yourself, you’d better obediently surrender your hands and feet. After all, you are an Awakener; your hands and feet can heal slowly. You can even heal them quickly if you obtain Life Energy," Velika said again.
She seemed to hold the highest authority among the Level D Awakener, so when she spoke, the other students remained silent, their expressions suggesting they would follow her decision.
"Screw that," Luis replied.
Considering he had Lifeborn, it would be easy for him to heal his hands and feet, but where would he put his face if they were cut off?
"Hahaha, it seems you really have no intention of giving up. In that case, take this!"
The woman suddenly charged toward him with a pair of red swords.
Her speed startled Luis. In an instant, she was right in front of him, and the air around him was filled with the scent of her perfume.
She then swung both swords at his legs.
Without thinking, Luis activated his Black Diamond Armor, which immediately enveloped his entire body.
Clang! Clang!
The two red swords seemed to strike against steel, bouncing back when they hit his Black Diamond Armor.
However, they suddenly ignited a red flame that engulfed his entire figure.
Luis could feel the heat of the flames, but they couldn’t penetrate his armor.
Whoosh!
He then jumped into the air.
Everyone who saw him was utterly amazed, as he suddenly wore armor made of black diamonds.
The armor was completely integrated with his body, so those with experience could immediately tell that it wasn’t an artifact, but something of his own.
"He actually possesses the Black Diamond Armor Spirit," said one of the imperial students.
Many of them had high insight and could immediately recognize the armor.
The students of Velos School were even more shocked to hear that.
"Isn’t Luis an Awakener without a Spirit?" they wondered.
"Don’t tell me he just obtained a Spirit?"
"It looks like it!"
"Wait, has he already reached Level D?"
Luis, using his spiritual power, caused his aura to radiate without bounds, allowing the Awakened to detect his level.
"Boy, I’ve been searching for an opponent like you for a long time—eat my sword!" The massive man suddenly charged toward him, swinging his huge sword.
In the air, there was no way for him to dodge.
He could only let the massive sword strike his armor.
BANG!
The sword seemed to weigh hundreds of tons, perhaps even thousands.
Luis was shaken uncontrollably, but fortunately, his armor was part of him. It also protected his body cells from the impact, so any shock wouldn’t affect him like it would with regular armor.
And he found a small scratch on his armor after taking the sword’s blow.
It managed to scratch his armor, but he was surprised that the scratch was so small given how hard the blow was and how large the sword was.
Clearly, the armor was stronger than he had anticipated.
The large man would have to strike him ten thousand times with his sword if he wanted to cause significant damage to his armor.
Shua!
Luis, of course, didn’t let himself be attacked alone.
He counterattacked, swinging his sword at his back.
At their distance, it was impossible for him to dodge.
Xiu!
His sword was incredibly sharp. Though the strike wasn’t very strong, the baby giant’s skin was instantly torn open, spurting out golden blood—the symbol of Level D.
His eyes widened and trembled uncontrollably, clearly in immense pain.
"This boy has some skills, let’s attack him together!"
The other Imperial Awakener realized that Luis wasn’t an easy enemy to deal with.
Some of them then charged toward him simultaneously.
Each unleashed a unique attack.
One attack even consisted of a large spider web that fell on his head and pulled him to the ground.
Xiu! Xiu!
He swung his sword at the spider web and easily tore it apart.
He then jumped again to avoid the incoming attacks.
The reason he dodged was because he didn’t want to get caught.
Boom!
As various attacks landed on the schoolyard, it instantly collapsed and turned into two large craters.
"Boy, just give up!" Velika came again.
She didn’t attack with her sword but used her long legs to kick his stomach.
The force of her kick wasn’t that strong, but her legs left a burst of fire that pushed him hard until he fell in a prone position.
As soon as he fell, roots emerged from the ground and immediately bound his body.
He was already lying down and had been physically weak from the start.
Tied down by the roots, he was completely unable to move.
He had just been thinking about not getting caught, and now he was caught. It was difficult when facing too many opponents whose strength was not much different from his own.
BANG!
Velika landed on his stomach, placing the tip of her sword on his neck while the others surrounded him.
"Boy, if you don’t remove your armor yourself, you’ll suffer more if we do it," she said in a cold tone.
"Velika, he might not give up until the end. Let’s take him to our school. Let Young Master Zane handle him himself," one of the students responded.
Velika seemed to realize that he wouldn’t give up. He nodded slightly.
"Damn all of you!" Luis cursed.
He had no intention of giving up until the end.
And suddenly, he remembered the poison he had stolen from Milo.
Without thinking twice, he pulled out the poison bottle.
Milo was watching, of course.
He was at the school with Thomas and the others, watching from the top of the school building.
When the poison bottle appeared in Luis’s hand, he was the first to recognize it.
"That’s my poison," he said.
"Your poison?" Thomas was stunned to hear that.
The students from the empire hadn’t realized it was poison.
They just stared at the bottle in confusion.
As for Luis, he was ready to break the bottle.
His armor might have a hole in front of his nostrils, but it could be covered.
As long as nothing entered his body, he wouldn’t be affected.
He didn’t know what the effect would be on humans, but he was certain it would get him out of trouble for now, even if bigger problems would arise later.
BANG!
He shattered the bottle with a loud crash, causing the poison inside to scatter in the wind.
The poison mixed with the air and entered the imperial students’ lungs as they breathed.
And Velika’s eyes suddenly widened.
Cough!
She coughed and grabbed her throat tightly.
"Damn it," she muttered.
Before she could say more, the other students began coughing as well and clutching their throats.
They fell simultaneously and started rolling quickly.
The roots binding Luis’s body suddenly vanished, and he was able to stand again.
He quickly jumped away to avoid the poisonous area.
Even Velika, the beautiful woman, began to look like a madwoman as she continued to roll around.
Perhaps this poison wasn’t fully effective against humans, as it didn’t kill them immediately. Maybe it was designed for monsters.
"Quick, quick, call the imperial ambulance!" The imperial students who were far enough away shouted.
Just a few moments later, a large flying ambulance appeared.
It dropped long ropes that tied each student’s body before pulling them into the ambulance.
One ambulance was enough to carry dozens of students.
Whoosh!
After that, the ambulance flew quickly toward the hospital not far from the school.
Silence filled the school grounds.
All the students, whether from Velos or the empire, were silent.
They stared at Luis in disbelief.
When they thought he was finished, he did something unexpected.
Most of them were still unsure of what had happened.
"Luis!"
Luis, who was lost in thought, was startled by Alice’s voice behind him.
"You did something amazing. According to my estimates, only Velika could have survived among them. I’ve informed Mr. Zarion, and he said you can receive a reward equivalent to a Tier A Weapon," the woman said as she looked at him.
"And you don’t need to worry too much. Mr. Zarion and some High-Rank Awakener from Velos can handle this. After all, they started it themselves, so they can defend you," she continued.
Luis wasn’t sure how to react to that.
"Are you sure I’ll be okay?" he asked.
"You don’t need to doubt it if Mr. Zarion is involved. Remember that he is a prince. He would be happy if those students died because their parents were among those who opposed him. Any help in his revenge will always be appreciated by him," Alice replied.
"Do I need to hide for a while?"
What Alice was saying was clear: he would only be free from imperial law.
The empire might not punish him officially for the sake of stability in Velos.
Besides, they were colonizers; it was their risk if some of them were killed by the locals.
However, Luis wasn’t sure about the unwritten punishment. It might not be punishment but revenge from people connected to the students.
"If someone comes to you, I guarantee that the strongest will only be a Level B Awakener. Now it depends on you whether you are confident or not when facing a Level B Awakener," Alice replied.
"I don’t think I can face a Level B Awakener," said Luis. "Unless I advance to Level C."
