I Can Replicate Martial Arts-Chapter 190 - 99: Demon Sound Transmission
The man hadn’t expected Zhao Rui to simply ignore his Illusory Sound Divine Skill and attack him directly.
A look of astonishment flashed across his face, but he dodged without a moment’s hesitation.
At the same time, his feet moved like lightning as he bolted for the exit.
Zhao Rui’s strike met empty air. He saw that the man had no intention of fighting him head-on.
Slightly surprised, he quickly gave chase.
This sudden turn of events stunned Zhao Rui’s students. They exchanged a look and then ran out in pursuit as well.
The commotion took only a moment to register with the hall’s security and the other students. They all scrambled to give chase.
"What are we chasing?"
"I don’t know. I just saw everyone else start running."
"Same here."
"..."
The "waiter" was incredibly fast, as if he had mastered some kind of Demon Sect Lightweight Skill. His figure flickered like a phantom as he moved with extreme speed.
In moments, he had shot out of the main hall and was running toward the street outside.
The man was fast, but Zhao Rui was no slower.
One chasing and one fleeing, the two of them were a hundred meters away in an instant.
Just then, Inspector Cui arrived with his men, following the sound of the commotion.
The two "Old Yin Faces" exchanged a glance, then suddenly accelerated. They bypassed the crowd and sped off after Zhao Rui and the man he was chasing.
Once outside the Zhengyang Martial Arts Academy, the "waiter" darted into a small alley. Fleeing for his life, he paid no mind to what was underfoot.
Many passing cars suffered for it. He landed on one perfectly good roof, caving it in with a single step and nearly turning the vehicle into a convertible.
Whether the people inside were still alive was not something he would stop to consider.
’What crime has an ant committed? It just happened to be in the way.’ That was probably the principle at work here.
Zhao Rui wasn’t so vicious. He did his best to dodge the passing vehicles while trying to stick to less crowded areas.
In the brief moment it took him to do so, the two "Old Yin Faces" caught up from behind.
Their Power was extremely profound. One of them, he estimated, had already reached the Grandmaster Realm.
The pair shot Zhao Rui a sidelong glance as they passed him without slowing down, keeping hot on the trail.
Watching the strange aura emanating from the True Qi the two men were using, Zhao Rui didn’t even need to guess. ’Experts from the Demon Sect.’
And so, the chase of three against one continued. Before long, they all disappeared from sight.
The students chased for a while before stopping, looking at each other in dismay.
"Everyone, go back. We’re from the Patrol Office, arresting a wanted criminal. Don’t cause a traffic jam."
Inspector Cui and his men received the same "treatment." Although he had brought experts from his unit, they were leagues behind the people running up ahead.
To say nothing of Inspector Cui himself. After years of living a comfortable life, his Power had declined to a pathetic level.
He couldn’t keep up, but he had to look like he was trying.
After ordering his subordinates to maintain order, Inspector Cui took a few of his team’s experts and set off along the route the others had taken.
「Half an hour later.」
In a deserted factory on the outskirts of the city, the "waiter" stopped and turned, his cold eyes fixed on the two Demon Sect experts who had been pursuing him.
"Soul-Chasing Elder, you really are relentless!"
The "waiter" spoke in a cold voice, one hand secretly moving behind his back, forming Hand Formulas.
"Nie Bin, you should know that traitors to the Sect do not die a good death. The Sect Leader takes pity on your situation. As long as you sincerely repent, he is willing to let you off the hook."
The grim-faced leader of the Demon Sect pair stared sinisterly at the "waiter," Nie Bin. His voice was a thin, wispy sound, like a night owl’s cry.
"History will be the judge of who the real traitors are. If you don’t wake up and see the truth now, you will all die without a place for burial when my Holy Sect arrives."
Nie Bin’s words drifted out eerily, not only neutralizing the Soul-Chasing Elder’s Demon Sound but continuing on with enough force to assail the two of them.
"Holy Sect? What a load of bullshit. You’re not just a fucking idiot, you’re a goddamn traitor!"
Hearing this, the younger of the two Demon Sect members completely lost his temper.
With a roar, he resisted the encroaching Demon Sound and directly unleashed several blasts of Piercing Palm Force at his opponent.
A cold smirk touched Nie Bin’s lips. With a wave of his hand, he sent a pile of nearby debris flying like a volley of stones to intercept the Palm Force. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
The two forces collided with a series of loud CRACKS, sending debris flying everywhere and kicking up clouds of dust.
Seizing the opportunity, Nie Bin leaped up onto a roof beam and continued his escape.
"After him!"
The two Demon Sect members leaped into the air and gave chase.
Mere seconds after the three departed, Zhao Rui appeared on the rooftop. He didn’t pause for a moment before following them.
The chase involving the four of them gradually moved from the city proper to the suburbs, and from the suburbs out into the rural towns.
The Demon Sect member with the weaker Inner Strength gradually fell behind, unable to keep up with the two ahead of him.
In the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, the other two had vanished from sight.
The man wasn’t worried. He pulled out his phone while still running and made a call.
"Fuck! That little bastard is slippery as hell. Elder, I’ve lost him."
"He’s heading due east. I’m sending you my location. Be careful."
"Right, got it!"
The Demon Sect expert hung up and casually opened a chat app to check the real-time shared location.
Zhao Rui wasn’t far behind him. How could their conversation possibly escape the ears of someone with Heavenly Demon Illusory Sound?
Hearing their conversation, Zhao Rui was stunned. ’You guys are doing what? It makes me feel so low-tech!’
’In two lifetimes, this is the first time I’ve ever seen Demon Sect experts use location sharing.’
’If they can share their location, then the Patrol Office...’
Zhao Rui couldn’t help but let out a choked laugh.
But on second thought, Martial Artists were people too. The secular world and the Martial Dao had existed side-by-side for so long that many things had inevitably blended together.
