I Can Extract Game Items-Chapter 199: The Tournament Begins
Ezran crossed his arms. "We had about thirty seconds left. What the hell happened?"
Aleman smirked under his helmet.
"Had some... unexpected business to take care of."
Reiner scowled.
"Oh, look who decided to show up."
Aleman turned his head slightly.
"And you are?"
Reiner scoffed.
"I’m the guy who was about to replace you."
Aleman chuckled.
"Shame. Would’ve been a waste of a slot."
Reiner’s face twitched with irritation.
Before the argument could continue, a deep, booming voice filled the Colosseum.
"TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION COMPLETE! COMPETITORS, PREPARE YOURSELVES!"
The Grand Colosseum gates swung open, revealing a massive battlefield inside.
The crowd erupted into cheers.
Lilo smirked while placing bows in her quiver.
"Well, boys... looks like it’s time to put on a show."
Aleman eyes locked on the arena as he stepped forward.
"Let’s win this thing."
The roar of the Colosseum faded as the competitors entered the massive floating arena with their boots clanking against the stone floor.
Before them, countless circular platforms hovered in the air, each about thirty feet in diameter.
A voice boomed across the battlefield.
"THE FIRST CHALLENGE—SURVIVAL!"
A holographic message appeared in front of each player.
---
[ Tournament Rule: Register Your Five Skills ]
[ Select ONLY FIVE abilities for the entirety of the tournament. Choose wisely. ]
---
Aleman’s eyes flicked over his available skills.
He had to be smart. Only five... which meant other skills will be unusable.
He quickly selected:
1. Phantom Blitz (Teleportation for speed & evasion)
2. Thunder Spear (His most powerful offensive ability)
3. Telekinetic Grip (A spell he had mastered recently, perfect for battlefield control)
4. Perfect Veil (His invisibility ability, ideal for last-second survival)
5. Shadow Dagger Throw (A long-range skill for taking out opponents from a distance)
The system locked in his choices.
The moment the timer hit zero, the rules of the first challenge appeared.
---
[ Objective: Stay on the platform. ]
[ Warning: The platform will continuously shrink. Falling means elimination. Attacking others is allowed. ]
---
Aleman and his team stood together chose one of the platforms that extended from the ground like a monolith with over a hundred other players.
Greg chuckled nervously. "Okay, this is fine. We just stand here, right?"
Ezran smirked. "You really think it’s that easy?"
Boris cracked his knuckles. "It’s gonna get messy."
Reiner scoffed. "Just stay out of my way."
Before anyone could react, the platforms began to rise.
After rising to around hundred feet, they started crumbling.
The outer edges collapsed, sending several players screaming as they plummeted into the abyss below.
"SHIT!" someone yelled.
A stampede began instantly.
Panic erupted as players pushed, shoved, and elbowed their way toward the shrinking center.
Lilo sidestepped a rushing warrior and kicked him square in the chest, sending him flying off the platform.
Ezran used a barrier spell, keeping himself from being thrown aside by the chaos.
Aleman remained calm and unmovable like a mountain. He was already at the center so even as the crowd tossed and toiled, he remained rooted in place.
Greg suddenly let out a yelp.
"AHHH—SHIT, HELP!"
He had been shoved violently and stumbled backward toward the crumbling edge.
His feet slipped and he found himself holding onto the ledge for dear life.
All of a sudden, the edges began crumbling again.
Greg was unable to pull himself back up before he lost grip due to not having anywhere to hold onto anymore.
He began to fall.
Just before Greg could plummet, Aleman’s eyes flashed.
A massive invisible force shot forward—
[ Telekinetic Grip Activated ]
Greg’s body halted mid-air, suspended by an unseen hand.
"Holy—You caught me?!" Greg gasped.
"I got you." Aleman grunted while pulling Greg back toward the center.
Greg landed safely before him and scrambled back to his feet.
"I’m gonna owe you so many drinks after this."
Aleman barely had time to respond before two players lunged at him in a bid to shove him off.
"One less body means more room!" One of them yelled as he reached out.
But Aleman whirled around, using his other Telekinetic hand to blast them backward.
The force was so strong that at least ten players were thrown off the platform, screaming as they disappeared into the abyss.
Ezran let out a whistle. "Damn, Aleman, remind me never to piss you off."
As time went on, more and more players fell.
The fighting grew more intense.
Boris headbutted an opponent before grabbing another by the arm and throwing him off the edge.
Lilo twisted out of someone’s grasp, flipping them over her shoulder before firing a string of arrows into their back which sent them over the side.
Reiner tore through opponents, his brute strength keeping him from being moved.
Aleman’s eyes darted around.
The platform was now barely thirty feet wide and still shrinking.
And then, one of the remaining players locked eyes with him.
A mage in a dark cloak, standing at the edge, grinning.
Aleman immediately recognized the stance.
A Spellcaster.
And that meant—
BOOM!
A fireball erupted from the mage’s hands, hurtling toward Aleman.
He reacted instantly by activating Phantom Blitz.
His body vanished into thin air just as the fireball exploded against the stone.
Aleman reappeared behind the mage, grabbed him by the collar and flung him off the platform.
The mage screamed as he vanished into the void.
"Well, that was satisfying," Aleman muttered.
The platform was now barely fifteen feet wide.
Only ten players remained.
Breathing heavily, Greg glanced around.
"Uh, guys... This is getting really damn small."
Ezran exhaled. "We just have to outlast the others."
Aleman watched the last stragglers desperately fighting.
Just when it seemed like the edges were going to collapse again, a loud gong echoed across the battlefield.
---
[ ROUND ONE COMPLETE! ]
[ REMAINING PLAYERS WILL PROCEED TO THE NEXT CHALLENGE ]
---
The platform had stabilized at this point and was no longer shrinking.
Aleman straightened.
Boris wiped sweat from his forehead. "One down."
Lilo grinned. "That was fun."
Reiner just scowled, brushing dust off his armor.
Greg, on the other hand, just collapsed onto the ground, laughing hysterically.
"I almost DIED. TWICE."
Aleman smirked. "You’ll get used to it."
Ezran raised an eyebrow. "How many rounds are there again?"
The Azure Dominion’s Grand Colosseum roared with life as thousands of spectators from across the kingdoms tuned in to watch the greatest warriors in Enders Light battle for supremacy.
The first round had already claimed hundreds of players, leaving only the strongest and most cunning survivors standing.
Now, the next two elimination rounds would determine who truly deserved to continue in the tournament.
Aleman, Lilo, Boris, Ezran, Gregarious, and even Reiner stood at the center of the battlefield, preparing for whatever was coming next.
The massive holographic screen above the Colosseum flashed.
---
[ ROUND TWO – THE GAUNTLET ]
[ Objective: Survive all obstacles and reach the end of the gauntlet. Eliminations will occur based on time and failure to complete the course. ]
As soon as the challenge was revealed, the Colosseum ground began to shift.
Massive stone walls rose from the earth, creating a massive labyrinth-like battlefield.
But it wasn’t just a maze.
It was a gauntlet of death.
The holographic instructions continued flashing above them.
---
[ Obstacles Include: ]
Razor Pillars: Spinning pillars lined with bladed edges, capable of slicing players apart.
Mana Bomb Traps: Hidden pressure plates that trigger arcane explosions upon contact.
The Titan’s Chase: A massive AI-controlled beast that will hunt players inside the gauntlet.
The Final Sprint: Only 500 players will qualify. The slowest 500 will be eliminated.
---
Aleman smirked under his helmet. "This is going to be fun."
Gregarious groaned. "Define fun, because this sounds like a nightmare."
Lilo cracked her knuckles. "Let’s get moving. Standing here isn’t gonna help."
A loud gong echoed across the Colosseum.
[ BEGIN! ]
The players scattered in all directions, rushing into the maze.
The moment they entered, chaos erupted.
Aleman’s boots barely touched the ground before the first wave of traps activated.
Massive spinning pillars covered in razor-sharp edges emerged from the walls, rotating at deadly speeds.
Players who didn’t react fast enough were shredded instantly.
Blood splattered against the stone as screams filled the air.
Their bodies slowly disintegrated as they respanwned outside the arena, disqualified.
Aleman teleported forward using Phantom Blitz, evading a blade that would have sliced him in half.
Ezran conjured a barrier spell, deflecting the spinning blades as he rushed forward.
Lilo flipped over one of the pillars, landing smoothly on the other side.
Gregarious barely dodged as his hair got nicked. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
Reiner simply charged through, letting his armor absorb the impact.
More players failed to dodge in time, eliminated in seconds.
But the ones who survived moved on.
The next section of the gauntlet was lined with glowing blue plates embedded in the ground.
Players quickly learned that stepping on them was instant death.
BOOM!
A player stepped on a plate and exploded into pixels.
Ezran narrowed his eyes. "They’re everywhere. We need to tread carefully."
Aleman crouched low, studying the pattern.
Then, he activated Telekinetic Grip, sending an invisible force ahead of them.
It triggered multiple plates before they even got close.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The entire path erupted in a chain reaction, clearing the way.
Lilo grinned. "Smart."
Gregarious wiped his forehead. "That saved my ass. I almost stepped on like three of those."
Reiner scoffed. "You would’ve deserved it."
