Chapter 323: War of The Eastern Lion 4

After finishing his business with Trident Sea, Ethan turned his head and saw that battles were still raging elsewhere.

The Alliance forces were trying to push back the enemy alliance troops. What remained of the enemy were only their core members.

Without any meaningful help from Ethan’s power, they managed to subdue all the enemies.

The opposing soldiers were defeated, many of their own team members were injured, and their city team leaders were no longer able to continue fighting.

There were a total of fourteen city teams in that area, out of twenty-one enemy cities. The rest had already boarded ships and sailed toward the next city in the archipelago region.

Ethan stood at the edge of the pier, his gaze fixed straight ahead, watching a ship sail north and leave the harbor.

Not a single ship remained docked. Ethan racked his brain, trying to figure out a way to reach the archipelago region.

Clearly, his goal was to chase Redemption Sword and Scavenger.

"Ethan."

Yuna approached, bringing fourteen people with her, the city team leaders who had surrendered. Their Core Crystals were still in their possession, not yet handed over.

Ethan turned his body, deactivating Ashura Mode, and looked at the fourteen people kneeling in front of him, their hands placed behind their backs.

"Call Leny over. Go inspect the units. Report the number of remaining city soldiers and injured team members."

"We’ll rest here for two hours."

Yuna nodded obediently and walked away. Leny heard Ethan calling for her. The woman came over and stood at his side.

The previous Core Crystals had already been recorded by Leny.

When Ethan informed her that Trident Sea possessed seven Core Crystals, she immediately noted it in a private message between them.

"What about them?" Leny asked, pointing at the fourteen people in front of them.

Ethan fell silent. His sharp gaze swept across them. "You already know what I’m going to do to you, right?"

One of the city team leaders stood up. The alliance team members reacted instantly, but Ethan stepped forward and calmed them.

"My team and I will surrender," the man explained, summoning his Core Crystal.

"Are you crazy? Arthur will kill you!"

Ethan listened to that and then made them an offer. Since they belonged to the Central Plains Alliance, their guild capabilities were not weak.

"You can sell your city and move to the Eastern Plains. Join my alliance."

"I will personally guarantee your safety," Ethan said.

"Well?"

They fell silent. The team leader who feared being killed by Arthur began to trust Ethan. After all, Ethan was the Chairman of the Eastern Alliance. He had no reason to lie.

From one person, it quickly grew to ten who surrendered and were willing to hand over their Core Crystals. That left the remaining four confused and isolated.

Ethan began accepting their Core Crystals. Each time he received one, Leny watched and carefully recorded everything.

Every time a Core Crystal changed hands, the owner and their team members were immediately teleported out of the event, safely returning to the game world.

The transactions continued until all ten had handed over every Core Crystal they possessed.

[Congratulations, you have obtained a Core Crystal!]

With their Core Crystals, LionArk became the guild ranked first in crystal acquisition. Leny remained beside Ethan, calculating in detail the total number they had obtained.

Ethan was fairly surprised. Those ten people represented ten cities. If their combined Core Crystals reached 113, then on average each city held at least eleven Core Crystals.

That meant they had destroyed at least ten cities in the tropical region.

A substantial number for an A-rank guild.

Four stubborn ones remained, still refusing to hand over their Core Crystals. It was not that they were not afraid of death, but their loyalty to Arthur outweighed their fear. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"I won’t hand over my Core Crystal. You’d better take it from my corpse!"

Ethan let out a sigh, reluctant to kill again. But if they refused to surrender it, then the only remaining option was to take it from their bodies.

The man lifted his head and looked at Nathan. Nathan drew a long breath and stepped forward, gripping his sword.

Instead of beheading him, he thrust the blade from behind, piercing through the man’s abdomen. The three beside him were shocked, their eyes widening as they witnessed his death.

He died, and his Core Crystal fell to the ground. Ethan picked it up. Leny stood frozen in shock.

Ethan looked at Leny’s face, then pulled her out of her daze.

"Wake up, Leny. If we don’t do this, they’ll trample on our dignity."

"This game has been deadly from the start. They should have realized... respawn doesn’t apply here."

Leny shook her head, breaking free from her thoughts. She turned and nodded, returning to recording the number of Core Crystals obtained.

The remaining three were terrified. They chose to hand over their Core Crystals to survive, to avoid dying. Ethan naturally accepted them.

The three were immediately teleported out of the event world, along with all their team members. The surrender of Core Crystals was complete.

Ethan turned around and looked forward again, specifically toward the strait that connected this place to the island ahead.

Yuna returned with information from the troop inspection. She stepped beside Ethan and explained everything.

"A total of 5,681 city soldiers have fallen, while seven of our team members are injured. They’re currently recovering under the priest team."

"How are we going to cross this strait?" Ethan asked, shifting the topic.

Yuna looked ahead as well, watching the strait that separated the two regions. If they did not quickly secure a ship to sail, Redemption Sword and Scavenger could destroy the enemy cities first.

"We can start building a dock here," Yuna replied.

Ethan shook his head. "That would take an entire day."

In the middle of his thoughts, one of the alliance team members shouted. He pointed west. A large ship with a black flag was sailing toward the harbor.

Ethan called Sera, telling her to prepare to attack the ship from the air. He also ordered the entire alliance force to prepare for the possibility of another battle.

Everyone stepped back from the dock, forming a tight formation and readying themselves to strike. Ethan remained alone on the pier.

Someone stood on the sailing ship, staring sharply at Ethan.

"You? Your flag is white and blue!"

"We are the Eastern Alliance," Ethan explained.

"You’re the one fighting the Redemption Sword. Am I right?" the man asked.

Ethan nodded. "That’s right."

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Do you need help?"

Ethan smiled and lifted his head to look at the ship’s captain.

"Let’s talk over a drink."
