He suddenly took her hands and looked straight into her eyes, his voice firm but warm. "Even if the baby inside you isn’t mine, I’ll still protect both of you. And if Azul can’t be a good father or husband, I’ll ask that crocodile friend of his to eat him alive."

Roxanna couldn’t help but laugh softly. "I think he has the potential to be a good father."

Cyrus also sniffed Roxanna, making her feel embarrassed. His eyes slowly widened when he realized that she and Calen had mated in the forest.

"But then... why was Calen angry at Azul?" Cyrus asked in confusion.
