I Became the Eye Candy: Four Bigshots Claimed to be My Dad?-Chapter 27: Who Wants to Be Friends with Him
Prince Changyang and the Princess Consort couldn’t help but chuckle. It was amusing, but...
"You’re going to see your father today. Did you dress like this to scare him?" The Princess Consort covered her mouth with a handkerchief, approaching with a light laugh.
Ye Qianning scratched her head. "I think it looks pretty good."
"Your Highness," Fourth Granny asked, having latched onto the important detail, "isn’t this man Pangtuan’s father?"
"This is the Third Prince. Qian Ning’s father is a good friend of his," the Princess Consort explained with a smile.
’Qian Ning...’
Fourth Granny didn’t recognize the name "Qian Ning" at first. When it finally clicked, she nodded repeatedly. She stared at Sang Yan with a sense of regret. ’Such a handsome man, and he isn’t Pangtuan’s father. What a shame.’
Having spent the last few days with Fourth Granny, Ye Qianning could guess her thoughts with a single glance.
Fourth Granny could be a bit of a ditz sometimes and had a mild case of selective hearing—she only heard what she cared about and automatically ignored the rest.
"Let’s go. We shouldn’t keep your father waiting," Sang Yan said, rising to his feet.
"Alright, alright." Fourth Granny pulled on Ye Qianning’s hand in agreement.
"Fourth Granny, you should stay here," the Princess Consort said.
Fourth Granny turned her head, puzzled. "Why?"
"The Third Prince is taking her, so you can rest assured. Just wait here in the mansion." Since Sang Yan had come to pick her up personally, he naturally wouldn’t want anyone else tagging along.
Fourth Granny was worried. Ever since bringing Pangtuan to Beili, the child hadn’t left her side for the entire journey. She was terrified of losing her.
"Fourth Granny, just wait for me here at the mansion," Ye Qianning said, tugging on her hand.
Fourth Granny was torn, but then she remembered Pangtuan was going to see her father. The Princess Consort was so kind; she surely wouldn’t lie to them.
"Alright. You be good, now. Don’t run off. Fourth Granny will be right here waiting for you." Fourth Granny straightened her clothes, clearly reluctant to let her go.
Ye Qianning nodded her little head emphatically.
Fourth Granny nagged her with a few more instructions before finally letting Ye Qianning leave the Prince Mansion with Sang Yan.
Outside the Prince Mansion, a carriage had been waiting for some time.
It was Ye Qianning’s first time in a carriage, so she was quite curious. After climbing in, she grabbed the curtain with her small hands and stuck her head out to look around.
"Sit properly. Be careful you don’t fall out," Sang Yan said with a smile.
"Will the carriage be bumpy when it starts moving?" Ye Qianning asked, turning back to him.
"That depends on the driver’s skill." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"The driver’s skill?" Ye Qianning stuck her head out of the carriage again. Looking at the smooth, green flagstones, she couldn’t agree with his statement. "I think it mainly depends on the road."
’If the road is uneven, it doesn’t matter who’s driving!’
"I didn’t realize you were so clever," Sang Yan praised.
"..."
Ye Qianning thought this had nothing to do with being clever. Anyone who wasn’t a complete fool could see that.
"Zhi has been pestering me to go to the countryside for the past few days. That’s because of you, isn’t it?" Sang Yan asked.
’The little stick-in-the-mud wants to go to the countryside?’
Ye Qianning paused, then covered her mouth and started to giggle. ’That little stick-in-the-mud is so naive. He’d probably still be counting the money after being scammed.’
"Zhi has had an eye condition since he was young and doesn’t like interacting with people. He doesn’t have many friends. The fact that he’s willing to talk to you means he likes you a lot." Sang Yan knew his younger brother well, and this was the first time he’d ever seen him listen to a young girl like this.
"No way. The little stick-in-the-mud thought I was your daughter. He was afraid I’d embarrass the royal family, so he insisted on teaching me about rules and decorum." Ye Qianning didn’t think the boy had any sort of eye condition.
The other day, when he looked at Iris, his eyes had lit up, clearly reflecting color.
"Even so, you’re the first person Zhi has ever willingly offered to teach. Perhaps you two could even attend school together in the future. You might become very good friends."
"Who wants to be good friends with him?" Ye Qianning muttered under her breath.
