I Became the Eye Candy: Four Bigshots Claimed to be My Dad?-Chapter 101: He Has to Call This Little Kid Martial Aunt
"Dean, I’m too heavy." Ye Qianning was well aware of her own weight.
"How heavy could you be? Don’t mind your master’s old age. I practiced martial arts when I was young, and it wasn’t just for show." As he spoke, Dean Chen picked up the chubby little girl.
His expression didn’t betray a thing, but inwardly, he couldn’t help but think, ’She really is heavy!’
The three tutors and four instructors who followed him down all stared at Ye Qianning. Dean Chen was a man of immense prestige; countless people had begged to become his disciple, yet he had refused them all. Now, he was actually taking a chubby toddler as his Direct Disciple.
How bizarre!
"Let’s go, let’s go. The apprenticeship ceremony is all prepared; we were just waiting on you." Dean Chen had been mulling it over for days. If they hadn’t arrived soon, he was going to go to the General’s residence to get her himself.
"Dean..."
"None of that ’Dean’ business. Call me Master," Dean Chen chided.
Since Ye Qianning was already prepared to become his disciple, she didn’t act coy. "Master."
"Ah, my good disciple." Dean Chen chuckled, his heart melting. He coaxed the little girl to start her way up the mountain.
The onlookers were speechless. From now on, this little girl would be a full generation above them—the tutors—in seniority. When they met in the future, what were they supposed to call her?
Gu Shuo hadn’t known about the apprenticeship. He had assumed that Ye Qianning’s admission to Lou Mountain Academy was simply a case of Xiang Minghou using his power and influence to open a back door for her. Rumors to that effect were already spreading through the streets and alleyways.
But now, he saw that Dean Chen himself had led a group of tutors to the foot of the mountain to welcome her.
’The Dean’s Direct Disciple... Doesn’t that mean her seniority is even higher than that of the young masters from the noble families in the Capital City?’
’More importantly, her seniority is higher than ours! If we follow the academy’s generational rules, does that mean I’ll have to call this little girl... Martial Aunt?’
’Martial Aunt?’
’What was Xiang Minghou thinking? When he let the girl become a disciple, did he even stop to think that he himself graduated from Lou Mountain Academy?’
’The generational seniority is completely messed up!’
The large group wound its way up the mountain from the base, a magnificent procession. As the saying goes, some rejoice while others worry—though, of course, not many were rejoicing.
"Master, please let my daddy carry me," Ye Qianning suddenly piped up.
Dean Chen chuckled. "Little girl, are you underestimating your master? Don’t worry about this little mountain path. I wouldn’t get tired even if I carried you all the way up Hongqing Mountain."
"But this disciple is worried about you, Master." Before Dean Chen could reply, Ye Qianning reached her arms back toward Xiang Minghou. "Daddy, carry me."
The path up the mountain was long. The Dean was around eighty years old, and she was worried he might get sick from the strain of carrying a child who weighed dozens of pounds.
Zhan Chi had sobered up considerably after his nap and was now at the head of the group.
Xiang Minghou bumped him aside and lifted the little girl into his arms.
Zhan Chi rubbed his shoulder. Ordinarily, he would have flown into a rage, but today, he was surprisingly silent.
"Haven’t seen you in two days, Young Master Zhan. Did you have a personality transplant?" Gu Shuo quipped, strolling past him while waving a folding fan.
"I’d say *you’re* the one who’s changed, Mr. Gu," Zhan Chi snorted. "You’re usually so busy you can’t even catch your breath. How is it you now have time to hover around a little girl?"
Gu Shuo’s eyes glinted, but he had no desire to argue.
Dean Chen smoothed his robes. "In a little while, your master must carry you through the academy gates himself."
"Okay." Ye Qianning nodded.
She had discreetly taken Dean Chen’s pulse just now. He appeared robust, but his health was actually not good at all. There were latent conditions suppressed within his body. It was fine as long as they didn’t flare up, but the moment they did, he would be in critical condition.
’If the Dean doesn’t take proper care of his health, his condition will definitely flare up within two to three years.’
Ye Qianning rested her head on Xiang Minghou’s shoulder and turned her focus inward to her personal dimension. The records there showed several types of fruit with medicinal properties. Now that she had a master, she certainly wasn’t going to be stingy.
’Choosing the largest Two Qi Fruit as a gift for her master would be perfect!’
