Chapter 47: 47: Screaming Won’t Do Shit

Theasre looked at the chimpanzee he meant humans jumping at Noel and slamming him down one after another.

"Did you think I am alone?"

"No... You are equally hated by everyone."

"The trash needs to be killed as quickly as possible, and you see, we have people to do it without me wasting time."

Theasre then turned around.

Beating Noel and putting him in his place was one of his goals, but in the end, winning this competition was all that mattered.

With a cheeky, self-satisfied smile, he turned to leave when

BANGHGGG!

A loud, catastrophic blast shook the place, sending a jolt through the ground and pieces of flesh flying here and there.

Theasre snapped his head to see a figure walking out, after throwing everyone aside, holding a blade in his left hand.

"Haa..." he cracked his neck, like he just woke up from a nap instead of getting jumped.

"Sorry... I am too in a hurry, so I am gonna finish this now..."

"Now...?" Theasre felt as if this guy was deliberately humiliating him and doing a damn good job at it.

"You think you can defeat me easily?"

"Of course... Is there even any doubt?" he spoke, extending his sword in his left hand and what Theasre saw next gave him a shock of horror.

CRUNNGGGGGG!

The sword in his hand glowed with a purplish tint, covered with darkish flashes. Particles of darkness coagulated, forming a bulb like it was showing off on purpose.

"You... Are you copying me?" Theasre roared, his ego cracking faster than the ground earlier, and shot forward towards Noel, raising his sword that also glowed.

"You think... any random Tom, Dick, and Harry can copy this, which requires talent...?"

"And out of all... YOU..."

"Can a talentless bastard copy me?"

SWOOSH!

Within a blink, he appeared before Noel and slashed his sword because clearly, anger was his only strategy left.

Noel also moved and struck his sword.

CLANG!

A crisp metallic sound echoed, vibrating across the battlefield. Then two opposite forces of energy struck one another, trying to overpower.

One fueled by pure arrogance and the other by even bigger arrogance.

CLANG!

The moment the two blades collided,a violent shockwave burst out from the point of impact, ripping the ground apart like paper. The air itself distorted, bending unnaturally as a ring of force exploded outward.

BOOOOOOM!

The cadets who were standing even far away were thrown off their feet like ragdolls, smashing into trees, rocks, anything unlucky enough to be in their path.

Two figures stood locked.

Theasre’s face twisted, and veins bulged across his forehead, his teeth clenched so hard it felt like they would shatter.

His sword howled with the energy of his aura that tried to detonate and overpower Noel.

But on the other side, darkness surged.

"You... think... THIS... is enough?!" he roared, pouring more power into his blade, his aura flaring wildly like a man trying to prove something he himself wasn’t sure about.

On the other side Noel stood calmly.

His left hand held the blade with lazy ease, as if he wasn’t in the middle of a clash that was tearing the battlefield apart.

The purplish darkness around his sword shot up, trying to overpower the other side.

"Too loud..." Noel muttered, his eyes half-lidded.

"What?" Theasre’s eyes widened in disbelief.

"You are too loud. Lower your volume, this isn’t a street fight."

The world shifted.

The purplish aura engulfed Theasre’s aura entirely and exploded.

CRRRRRAAAAAACK!

A horrifying sound split the air as the balance broke. That terrifying, gut-wrenching realization

He was losing and screaming at the top of his lungs.

"No...!"

"Buddy, screaming won’t do a shit..You ain’t Goku."

BOOOOOM!

The energy from Noel’s blade surged forward like a tidal wave.Theasre’s aura shattered, and his sword trembled violently.

CRACK!

A fracture ran across its surface.

CRACK! CRACK!!

His eyes filled with horror.

"This... this is impossible—!"

"Yeah, yeah... file a complaint later."

A single cold word.

And everything ended.

BOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

The clash detonated.

A pillar of dark-purple energy shot straight into the sky, tearing through clouds as the ground beneath caved in, forming a massive crater.

And from that explosion a figure was sent flying.

Theasre’s body shot backward like a broken projectile, smashing through one tree—

BOOM!

Then another..

BOOM!

Then another..

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!!!

Three massive trees exploded upon impact, wood and bark bursting into splinters as his body didn’t even slow down.

His bones cracked and his vision blurred.

His blade was broken so was his pride that shattered long before his body.

"Impossible..." a broken whisper escaped his lips.

But the force didn’t stop.

It dragged him across the ground, grinding his body against stone and soil, carving a long, ugly trench behind him.

SKRRRRRRRRRRRRRR—

The final impact came with a sudden tug.

BOOOOOOM!!!

His body slammed into a massive boulder.

His body broke apart under the overwhelming force, crushed, torn, and grinded into dust as the remaining energy swallowed everything whole.

Before getting knocked out, he saw a figure looking down at him.

"You might have a big ego... but mine comes with a premium subscription." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

....

Meanwhile at the mountain path.

The mountains trembled as two absolute lunatics tried to kill each other mid-sprint.

Eleanor’s boots barely touched the jagged cliffside as she surged upward, her body leaning forward like a predator chasing blood. But this wasn’t just speed..

Flames coiled around her legs.

Each step left behind a brief explosion of fire, scorching the rock as she kicked off with bursts of heat, propelling herself higher.

The wind howled past her ears, slicing against her skin, but the flames wrapped around her like a mantle, deflecting the bite of the cold.

Behind her..

"GET BACK HERE, YOU MENACE!"

Elderic’s roar exploded through the valley as he launched upward.

His foot touched the cliff.

A pulse of mana surged.

Then.

BOOM!

The rock beneath his foot detonated as if struck by an invisible hammer, launching him forward like a missile.

He detonated the things his way up.

Grabbing onto a protruding rock, he poured mana into it.

"IF I CAN’T WIN..NO ONE CLIMBS!"

The moment his fingers tightened there was an explosion.

KABOOM!

The entire chunk exploded in his grip, turning into a high-velocity projectile that shot toward Eleanor.

"Are you trying to climb or destroy the mountain?!" Eleanor snapped, twisting mid-air—

Flames burst from her back, forming a concentrated blast that shifted her trajectory mid-air, the boulder grazing past her before shattering into dust.

"That’s not how climbing works, you caveman!"

"IT’S WORKING, ISN’T IT?!"
