Chapter 310: Chapter 310 Sable’s Answers

Finally, with a triumphant grin, he pulled out a bottle of peach juice and a pack of dried peaches.

"I pick these!" he announced proudly, holding them up like trophies.

The classroom erupted in cheers and laughter.

"Yay, Felix!" Luna clapped her hands.

"You did good, snack king!" Drake shouted, flapping his wings excitedly.

And Boo—well, Boo immediately started spinning midair, glowing pink and giggling. "Disco time!!" he declared dramatically, twirling in circles above the desks while humming an off-key tune.

Alina burst into laughter, shaking her head. "Alright, alright, settle down, you little party ghost," she said fondly. "There are plenty of snacks for everyone, but only if you keep behaving like this."

Boo stopped mid-spin, saluted proudly, and floated back to his seat.

Alina reached for the next notebook from the stack, and her smile softened the moment she saw its cover. It was a gentle shade of blue. She turned the page and saw uneven little doodles of clouds and stars drawn across the front—some in pencil, some in faint purple crayon, as if their maker had hesitated halfway through. In the corner, written in small, round handwriting that leaned a little to the right, was the name Sable.

Her heart melted instantly.

"It’s time to see what our little Sable has written," she said warmly, glancing at the tiny boy sitting near the back.

Sable froze. His soft black hair fell slightly over his eyes as he peeked up from behind his desk, his tiny hands clutching the edge nervously. The faint shadows around his feet quivered like shy ribbons of smoke, curling and uncurling as if they, too, were nervous about being seen.

Boo leaned over toward him, whispering loudly, "Don’t worry, I bet you wrote about shadows and secret things!"

Sable’s cheeks flushed pink, and he shook his head quickly. "N-no... not secret things..." he murmured in his small, breathy voice.

Drake grinned. "Maybe he wrote about snacks! I’d give him full marks already if he did."

"Drake," Alina said in a mock-stern tone, "no bribing the teacher with snack ideas."

The class giggled softly, and Sable’s shoulders relaxed a little.

Alina opened the notebook carefully to the page where he had written his answers.

The handwriting was neat but tiny, like he was afraid to take up too much space on the paper. Tiny doodles of suns and moons peeked from the corners, making her smile even more.

She looked up, her voice gentle. "Alright, let’s see what our sweet Sable wrote."

Sable immediately hid his face behind his hands, peeking through his fingers as the class leaned forward in anticipation.

Alina’s tone softened as she read aloud, "Question one: Describe the sky."

Her eyes warmed the moment she began to read. "The sky is big and soft. Sometimes blue, sometimes gray. I like it when it rains because the sky cries, and I don’t feel alone. But I like shadows more, because they stay with me even when there’s no one else."

The room went quiet. Even Boo stopped glowing for a second.

Alina looked up, her heart swelling with tenderness. "Sable," she said softly, "that’s such a lovely way to describe it. You love shadows, don’t you?"

Sable nodded shyly, his little fingers tracing circles on his desk. "Mm-hmm... shadows don’t talk, but they always stay," he murmured, voice barely above a whisper.

Drake tilted his head, curious. "So... your best friend is your shadow?"

Sable blinked and nodded again. "Yes. It follows me everywhere."

Boo gasped dramatically. "That’s so spooky—but also so cute!"

The class burst into laughter, and even Sable smiled shyly, hiding his face behind his small hands.

Alina giggled softly before turning the page. "Question two: Write five words that start with S." She smiled as she read aloud, "Sky, Shadow, Soft, Sleep, Snack."

Drake threw his hands up. "Everyone’s writing ’snack’! I think we all have the same dream!"

Alina chuckled, shaking her head. "Maybe snacks are your class spirit animal," she teased.

Then she turned to the next page and continued, "Question three: Name five animals you know." She read gently, "Wolf, Bat, Cat, Bird, Rabbit."

She smiled proudly and looked at him. "You did such a wonderful job, Sable. I can see how carefully you wrote everything."

Sable’s cheeks turned pink as he gave a tiny nod. "Thank you, teacher," he whispered.

Alina’s smile brightened. "You’re very welcome, sweetheart." She reached into the cookie box and handed him his share. "Three cookies for our quiet little thinker."

Sable took them carefully, holding the cookies like treasures.

From the back, Boo whispered to Drake, "I think his shadow helped him write those answers."

Drake smirked. "Then I want a shadow too."

"Sable, choose your favorite two snacks from the bag too!" Alina said.

He hesitated for a moment, his tiny fingers hovering over the edge before he leaned forward and peeked inside. The moment he saw it, his eyes sparkled.

Nestled between the other snacks was a small black box, cute and glossy, with tiny white stars printed on it. On the side, in bold silver letters, it said Star Candies.

Sable’s lips curved into a rare, soft smile. "Candies..." he murmured under his breath, his voice filled with quiet delight. He picked up the box carefully, holding it close as if it were something precious.

Alina’s heart melted at the sight. "You like candies that much?" she asked gently.

He nodded quickly. "They’re sweet and tasty," he said honestly, making the whole class giggle.

Alina laughed softly too, then gestured to the snack bag. "Alright, and your second one?"

Sable peered inside again, scanning with a thoughtful little frown before reaching for a shiny orange packet. "Crunchy chips," he said, holding it up proudly.

Drake immediately groaned. "Nooo! That was my target!"

Boo gasped. "He stole the legendary crunch!"

Sable blinked innocently. "There’s more..." he murmured, confused.

The class burst into laughter again, and even Luna smirked while Vlad Jr. sighed, muttering, "Honestly, you’d think snacks were treasure in this classroom."

Alina smiled warmly, patting Sable’s head. "Good choices," she said softly. "Candies and chips—perfect rewards for our little Sable."

Sable nodded, clutching his prizes tightly to his chest as he made his way back to his seat, his soft shadow twirling behind him like it was celebrating too.
