Chapter 308: Chapter 308 Cookies and Apologies

Alina put the snack bags from her chair carefully on the floor, leaning it against her desk before sitting down with a little sigh of contentment. She took out her small pocket diary and her phone, flipping through her notes as the quiet classroom buzzed softly with the sound of tiny hands writing. Her babies were unusually well-behaved today, and that made her smile.

Just as she began jotting something down in her diary, she heard a voice from outside the door.

"Miss Alina?"

She looked up in surprise. That voice—she knew it.

Setting her diary aside, she walked to the door and opened it, only to find Professor Hobb standing there, looking a little awkward, holding something that looked suspiciously like a small box of cookies.

"Sir?" she blinked, surprised. "You’re here?"

Professor Hobb cleared his throat, his round glasses slipping a little down his nose. "Ah, yes. My students are having a short break, and I wanted to come and apologize to your class."

Alina was taken aback. "Apologize?" she repeated, but her tone softened immediately. "That’s very kind of you, Professor. Please, come in."

The moment she stepped aside to let him enter, every single baby in the class froze. Their tiny heads turned in perfect unison like a pack of suspicious detectives.

Boo’s glow dimmed slightly. Drake stopped writing mid-sentence. Vlad Jr. looked like he was already preparing a report for court. And Luna’s furry ears perked up sharply, twitching like radar as she sniffed the air.

Professor Hobb cleared his throat again, clearly feeling the weight of several judgmental little eyes.

Alina clapped her hands gently to get their attention. "Everyone, put down your pencils for a moment. Professor Hobb has something to say."

The room fell silent. The babies stared at him, completely still except for Drake, whose tail twitched with restrained energy.

Boo floated closer to Sable and whispered loudly, "Is he here to steal teacher again?"

Sable’s eyes went wide. "No... no way, I can’t let him steal our teacher..."

"Shh," Vlad Jr. hissed, adjusting his tiny bow tie. "Let’s hear what he has to say."

Alina, trying very hard not to laugh, looked encouragingly at Professor Hobb. "Go ahead, sir."

The poor professor smiled nervously at the sea of suspicious, adorable faces staring back at him. "Ahem... well, I wanted to apologize to all of you for doubting your abilities yesterday."

A few babies exchanged glances, their expressions curious.

"You are all very bright," he continued, his tone gentle and sincere. "And I shouldn’t have expected you to act like adults when you’re still learning and growing. So... I’m sorry."

"So... you’re not mad egg anymore?" Drake asked, blinking his wide golden eyes.

Alina’s smile froze, and she turned to him slowly with that calm but dangerous teacher tone. "Drake," she said sweetly, "what did I tell you about respecting elders?"

The color drained from his little face. His wings drooped, his tail curled around his feet, and he stared at the floor like a guilty puppy. "S-sorry, teacher..." he mumbled, voice tiny.

Professor Hobb raised a hand quickly, chuckling softly. "Oh, don’t scold them, Miss Alina. I wasn’t exactly the kindest to them either," he admitted, looking genuinely regretful. "They’re good children. Mischievous, yes—but bright."

Alina’s expression softened, and she gave a small nod.

The professor smiled faintly and reached into the small box he’d been holding. "I actually came to make peace with Class D today," he said, his tone lighter now. "A peace treaty of sorts. And I brought cookies."

Instantly, the room filled with gasps and tiny squeals.

"Cookies!!" Boo spun in the air like a firework, his glow flickering pink with excitement.

"These are from my wife," Professor Hobb continued with a kind smile, offering the box to Alina. "You can distribute them evenly—three pieces each."

"Three!" Felix repeated in awe, already counting invisible cookies on his fingers.

Alina smiled warmly, touched by the gesture. "That’s very kind of you, sir. I’m sure the children will love them."

Professor Hobb chuckled. "Then I’ll consider us all friends again."

"We forgive you!!" Boo shouted dramatically, floating close to him and doing a happy little spin midair.

The professor laughed heartily. "Thank you, Boo. I feel honored."

But as the laughter settled, Alina noticed Drake sitting quietly, his chubby hands fidgeting against his notebook. His eyes were wet, his lips trembling slightly.

"Drake?" she asked softly, kneeling down beside him.

He sniffled, unable to look up. "I’m... I’m sorry, Professor Hobb," he said in a small voice. "We called you egg... and that was bad." His words broke midway, and before anyone could stop him, tears spilled down his chubby cheeks.

"Oh, no, no..." Professor Hobb hurried forward, kneeling too. "Hey, little guy, it’s alright. Really."

Drake hiccupped, his face scrunching. "We... we were just mad ’cause we thought you didn’t like us..."

Professor Hobb’s eyes softened. "I did like you. I just didn’t understand you before." He smiled, patting Drake’s head gently. "And now, I think I do." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Boo floated closer, sniffling. "Teacher, this is emotional! I can’t take it!"

Alina chuckled softly as the rest of the class gathered around, watching the moment unfold. Drake’s sniffles faded into shy giggles, and the professor smiled at them all.

After Professor Hobb left, Alina turned back toward her class, her warm gaze settling on Drake. The little dragon had stopped crying, though his cheeks were still pink, and his tail flicked nervously under his chair. Seeing him like that made Alina’s heart soften.

She smiled gently and crouched down beside his desk, her tone tender but firm. "Drake, I’m sorry teacher scolded you earlier," she said softly. "But I want you to understand something important."

The whole class had gone quiet now, tiny eyes watching her. Even Boo floated closer, hovering just above Sable’s desk, curious.

Alina continued gently, "We should always respect our elders, even when they seem unfair or strict. They’ve lived longer than us, and sometimes they just forget how to see things from our point of view. But being respectful doesn’t mean you have to agree with everything they say. It means showing kindness, listening first, and choosing to act with patience instead of anger."

Drake sniffled and looked up at her. "Even if they call us naughty?"
