I Became a Kindergarten Teacher for Monster Babies!-Chapter 306 Mission Successful
"Like cancelling recess. Or replacing playtime with cleaning duty." Boo gasped suddenly. "What if they make us polish Professor Egg’s head?! It’ll shine like the sun!"
Drake’s eyes went round with horror. "Nooo! I don’t wanna see my reflection on his bald head again!"
"Shh! You’ll blow our cover!" Boo panicked, slapping his little hand over Drake’s snout.
"Mmmph!" Drake mumbled behind his hand, eyes watering. "Can’t... breathe!"
"Stop breathing fire then!" Boo hissed, trying to hold his ghostly form steady as Drake’s warm breath started to make his mist flicker. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
And then—
Drake’s nose twitched once... twice... and before Boo could stop him—
"Aah... AH-CHOO!"
A small puff of fire escaped, hitting the window and leaving a perfect round smudge of smoke on the glass.
Inside the room, every adult stopped talking.
Miss Kelly frowned. "What was that?"
Professor Hobb turned toward the window, blinking in disbelief. "Did something just... sneeze outside?"
Alina’s eyes widened immediately. She knew exactly what that sounded like.
Meanwhile, outside—
"Drake!!!" Boo squeaked, waving his little hands wildly. "You blew our cover again!"
"I didn’t mean to!" Drake whispered desperately, wiping his snout. "It’s dusty! My nose is sensitive!"
"Oh no—oh no—they’re coming!" Boo said, spinning frantically in circles.
"Hide!" Drake hissed, jumping down from the ledge.
The window creaked open, and Alina’s voice floated out. "What on earth...?"
But by then, the two spies had vanished into the bushes below—one coughing smoke, the other glowing faintly like a scared lamp.
"Drake," Boo whispered as they hid behind the flowers, "we’re the worst spies in the world."
Drake rubbed his nose with his tail and pouted. "Yeah... but at least teacher’s safe."
Boo nodded seriously. "Mission accomplished."
Both of them exchanged terrified glances. After two minutes, then without a single word, Drake spread his wings and Boo clung tightly to his back. The little dragon shot into the sky so fast that his golden scales blurred like streaks of sunlight, and Boo squealed, "Go! Go! Before Big Big eats us alive!"
"Don’t say that!!" Drake wailed, flapping faster as they darted back toward their classroom window. Within seconds, they slipped inside, landed on the floor with a soft thud, and straightened up as if they had never left.
The rest of the class turned to look at them. Vlad Jr. raised an unimpressed eyebrow from his desk. "And?" he asked. "Did you save teacher from your imaginary egg villain?"
Drake stood proudly, hands on his tiny hips. "Yes. Mission successful. We spied on the teacher!"
Boo nodded vigorously, glowing like a lantern again. "You won’t believe what we saw! Teacher was surrounded by enemies! Professor Egg, Miss Kelly, Gabriel, and even Big Big himself!"
Gasps rippled through the class.
Luna narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "And what did they say?"
Drake puffed out his chest. "They said... um... they said we’re going to have a math exam!"
The entire classroom erupted in panic.
"WHAT?!" Felix yelled, jumping onto his desk. "No! I’m too young to die!"
"I knew it," Luna groaned, covering her face. "This is why I told teacher not to leave us alone—adults plot evil things when we’re not looking."
Sable’s shadow trembled slightly. "M-Maybe it’s not that bad..."
"No, Sable!" Boo cried dramatically, twirling in the air. "It’s worse! I saw with my own eyes—Professor Egg was smiling! Smiling! That’s a sign of danger!"
Vlad Jr. sighed and closed his tiny pocket watch. "You two are hopeless. You probably misunderstood everything as usual."
Drake gasped. "You don’t believe me?!"
"Not when you make stuff up every time," Vlad said dryly.
Boo crossed his arms, looking offended. "We never lie! We improvise facts!"
Rocky, who had been quietly watching from the corner, whispered nervously, "So... are we really going to have a math exam?"
And just as Boo opened his mouth to confirm dramatically, the classroom door clicked open—
"Good morning, everyone!"
Alina’s cheerful voice filled the room as she stepped inside, holding two bags filled with snacks. Her smile was bright and warm, but there was a faint glint of knowing mischief in her eyes. Every head in the room turned toward her, the laughter and chatter freezing midair. Boo and Drake shared a look of pure terror.
She walked in calmly, pretending nothing was wrong. She had noticed faint scorch marks on the staffroom window when they heard the sound outside, and everyone had already seen Drake—though she told them not to catch them because it might scare or startle them. So instead of scolding, she simply set the snack bags on the chair beside her desk, her smile never faltering.
"Good morning, Miss Alina!" the babies shouted together in excitement.
"Well," she said in her gentle, teasing tone, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear, "yesterday I forgot my treasure chest gifts—but today, I brought so many!"
The classroom instantly came alive. Eyes sparkled, tails wagged, wings fluttered. Drake nearly leapt out of his seat, his little hand gripping the desk as if holding himself back. "Treasure chest!!" he cried, eyes glowing gold with excitement.
Alina laughed softly. "Yes, but you’ll have to wait until I—"
Before she could finish, she felt something soft and cold behind her. She turned and found Boo hovering right over the bag, his tiny ghostly hands already reaching inside.
"Boo!" Alina called sharply, giving him a firm teacher glare.
He froze midair, a guilty smile flickering across his transparent face. "Heheh... I’m just... checking..."
Without saying another word, Alina calmly reached out and picked him up by his tiny ghost body—his glow flickering like a startled candle. The moment her fingers brushed him, she felt the strangest mix of softness and chill, like touching a cold puff of mist that somehow had weight. It was fluffy yet see-through, almost like holding a piece of frozen cloud. She placed him gently back on his desk. "You’ll check after everyone gets one," she said, voice calm but firm.
Boo sat there, stunned, blinking wide-eyed as if he couldn’t believe what had just happened.
And then, the classroom exploded with laughter.
Drake was laughing so hard he rolled halfway off his chair, wings flapping wildly. "HAHAHAHAHA! Teacher just—just picked you up like a balloon!!"
Boo puffed up, crossing his little arms and pouting. "It’s not funny! Teacher is too strong!"
"Strong?" Luna giggled. "You weigh less than a bubble!"
"I do not!" Boo protested, glowing brighter with embarrassment. "I’m—uh—fluffy!"
The laughter grew louder until even Alina couldn’t help but smile, hiding her amusement behind her hand.
She shook her head softly. "Alright, alright, that’s enough. Let’s not tease Boo."
But inside, she was trying not to laugh too. His round face and puffed-up expression were just too adorable.
