I Became a Kindergarten Teacher for Monster Babies!-Chapter 293 Jealousy
His jaw flexed. Why is she looking at her like that? he thought, a faint irritation rising in his chest. Is she admiring her?
Georgia, completely unaware of the dark look forming on the demon lord’s face, was still holding Alina’s hands cheerfully. "You’re too sweet," she said with a warm laugh. "You have such kind eyes, no wonder the children adore you."
Alina blushed slightly, smiling shyly. "You’re very kind yourself," she said sincerely.
Dante’s lips curved into a faint, polite smile, but his eyes told a very different story. "Yes," he said quietly, his voice smooth but sharp beneath the surface. "Healer Georgia has a... very charming way with people."
Georgia blinked, sensing something strange in his tone. Her bright green eyes flicked up to his face and what she saw made her pause. There it was again: that heavy, dark look, quiet but intense, the kind that could make even fire hesitate.
For a second, she blinked in surprise. Then, to Alina’s relief and Dante’s displeasure, she burst into a carefree laugh. "Hahaha, oh Lord Dante, you’re too serious!" she said, waving her hand playfully. "Come, come, we can talk more on the way. Let’s go!"
Before Dante could say anything, Georgia reached for Alina’s hand and pulled her along gently toward the exit.
It was a bad move.
Dante’s expression darkened immediately, the polite mask slipping for just a heartbeat. His jaw tensed, his eyes narrowing slightly as he watched Georgia lead Alina away, laughing, chatting, holding her hand like they’d known each other forever.
His aura seemed to change, heavier, colder.
When Dante followed them out to the parking lot, Alina sat inside her small car, her brows drawn together in worry as she turned the key again and again. The engine sputtered weakly but refused to start.
"Oh no... not now," she murmured, tapping the steering wheel anxiously. She tried one more time, nothing. Her shoulders slumped.
"Is something wrong?" Dante asked, his calm voice breaking the quiet.
Alina looked up at him, startled. "Ah... it’s just my car. It’s not starting." Her tone was apologetic, almost embarrassed. "I think the battery’s dead," she said as she opened the car door and got out.
Dante stepped closer, hands tucked into his coat pockets, his expression unreadable. "Don’t worry," he said evenly. "I have a car too."
Alina blinked, surprised. "You do?"
He nodded, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "I brought it in case of emergencies," he said smoothly, his tone casual but his eyes glimmered with amusement.
Alina’s worry melted instantly, replaced with relief and excitement. "Really, sir? That’s perfect!" she said brightly, her eyes lighting up.
What she didn’t know and what no one would ever dare tell her was that Dante had bought that very car a week ago. He’d seen her talk lovingly over her tiny old one, heard her talk about cars like they were loyal friends, and quietly decided he wanted her to have something worthy of her smile.
With a small flick of his fingers, he gestured to the air beside him. A ripple of shadow opened, and within seconds, a gorgeous white car glided forward, polished to perfection, reflecting the sky like glass.
Alina gasped. "Sir... it’s so pretty!" she exclaimed, her voice full of awe as she circled around it. "It looks like it came out of a dream!"
She almost hugged it, her hands pressed to the smooth surface as her eyes sparkled. "It’s beautiful."
Dante watched her quietly, the corners of his mouth softening. Then, in a voice so low it almost blended with the breeze, he murmured, "Not as beautiful as you."
He hadn’t meant to say it aloud. But Georgia heard.
The healer, standing a few steps away, froze mid-step. Her eyes widened slightly, and then her lips parted in silent disbelief.
"Oh my," she whispered under her breath, staring at Dante with both amusement and shock.
Dante straightened his collar calmly as if nothing had happened, though a faint hint of color brushed the edge of his cheekbones. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Alina turned toward him, smiling innocently. "Sir, what did you say?"
"Hmm?" He cleared his throat lightly, eyes fixed on the car. "I said... it’s reliable."
Georgia snorted quietly, barely holding back laughter. Reliable, huh? she thought, smirking to herself. That’s not what I heard.
Dante shot her a warning glance without turning his head, the kind that could silence thunder. Georgia lifted both hands in mock surrender.
"Oh, relax, my lord," she teased under her breath. "Your secret’s safe with me, for now."
Alina, still admiring the car, didn’t notice any of it. "It’s so perfect," she said happily. "You really think of everything, Sir."
Dante’s eyes softened. "Only when it comes to you," he murmured quietly.
And this time, Georgia wisely said nothing, but her grin said everything.
Since Dante didn’t actually know how to drive, Alina ended up behind the wheel, her hands resting delicately on the steering. Georgia happily claimed the passenger seat beside her, humming a soft tune as she adjusted the air vents and admired the car’s luxurious interior.
It was a warm afternoon, sunlight spilling gently through the windshield, painting soft golden streaks across the seats. The sound of the engine filled the air, peaceful and calm, though the atmosphere inside the car was anything but.
Dante sat in the back, composed as ever, expressionless, still, and intimidatingly quiet. His crimson eyes watched everything, every flicker of movement, every sound. His gaze, however, seemed to linger far too often on the healer sitting beside Alina, since the passenger seat beside Alina, which was supposed to be his, was stolen, as well as Alina’s attention from him.
Georgia, cheerful as always, was talking animatedly about her Plant Domain, explaining how roots absorbed emotions and how trees could sense truth. "When the wind blows just right," she said with a bright smile, "you can even hear the forest whisper secrets. Isn’t that fascinating, Alina?"
Alina nodded with a polite smile, glancing at Dante through the rearview mirror, and her smile faltered a little.
He was staring again.
Not at the scenery. Not at her hands on the wheel. But at Georgia. His gaze was calm but deep, the kind that could make even fire nervous.
Alina felt her heartbeat quicken for reasons she couldn’t name. Her fingers tightened around the steering wheel. Why does it feel like he’s looking at her too much? she thought, her chest tightening slightly.
