I Became a Kindergarten Teacher for Monster Babies!-Chapter 289 Caught
Vlad Jr. stood under a tree, shaking his head with a sigh. "Such uncivilized behavior," he muttered, brushing imaginary dust off his uniform—right before Boo zoomed past him and nearly knocked him over.
Even Boo, who usually floated proudly, was actually running—or at least trying to. His short glowing legs flickered awkwardly as he scowled. "Boo hates gravity! Boo prefers floating!" he complained, glaring down at his feet.
Felix was laughing so hard he nearly fell to the ground, while Kelpie splashed a tiny puddle of water toward Luna, shouting, "Water attack!"
Sable, meanwhile, was sitting quietly on a patch of grass, clapping softly whenever someone did something silly. His face lit up when he saw Alina approaching. "Teacher!" he called happily, waving his little hands.
Alina smiled warmly and waved back. "Everyone’s having fun, I see."
Boo immediately spotted her and gasped, forgetting all about his short legs. "Teacher’s here! Everyone, act natural!" he shouted, then tripped over Drake’s tail and rolled like a glowing snowball.
The others burst into laughter, their giggles ringing through the air like tiny bells.
Alina shook her head with a helpless smile as she sat down beside Sable on the soft grass. The sunlight filtered gently through the trees, warm and golden, and the laughter of the children echoed around them like a distant melody.
Sable held something in his small hands—a tiny crown made of dried leaves and flowers, its colors faded but still beautiful in its own way. He looked up at her with a shy smile. "Teacher, I made a crown for you," he said softly. "But it’s dried now." He remembered picking those pretty grasses and flowers for her and making the crown carefully, hiding it in the bushes to surprise her. But when he took it out today, it had already dried up, and that made him sad. He had really wanted Miss Alina to like it.
Alina blinked in surprise, touched. "You made it for me?" she asked, her eyes lighting up.
He nodded quickly, though his shoulders slumped a little. "Mm-hmm. But it’s not pretty anymore."
Alina’s heart melted. She placed a gentle hand on her chest and smiled. "It’s okay, Sable. Even if it’s dried, I think I already received your effort."
"Really?" He tilted his head, confused. "But how?"
"Well..." Alina chuckled softly, thinking for a moment. "When you think or do something with love for someone, that feeling reaches them—even if they’re far away."
Sable’s brows furrowed as he tried to understand. "It reaches them?"
She nodded. "Yes. Because we’re all connected somehow—by our hearts, by energy, by life itself."
"Oh..." he whispered, still puzzled, but there was wonder in his little eyes.
Alina smiled warmly, brushing a few strands of hair from his forehead. "When you grow up, you’ll understand it better," she said with a small laugh.
Sable nodded firmly, his eyes shining with determination. "Then I’ll grow up fast! So I can understand everything!"
Alina laughed softly, her heart warming at his innocent seriousness. She looked at his small, thoughtful face and for a moment, she wished she could be like him again—free, curious, and unburdened by the weight of the world.
As the wind ruffled Sable’s soft hair, Alina leaned back on her hands, watching the children play. "Maybe," she thought quietly, "the happiest people are the ones who never forget how to see the world like a child." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Her gentle thoughts vanished the moment she heard loud footsteps and saw Drake charging toward her, his little arms spread wide like a flying eagle.
"Teacher!" he yelled, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Can you hug me too like you hugged the Principal?!"
Alina froze. Her eyes went wide as she blinked at him, stunned. "W-what?!" she stammered. "Drake... how do you know about that?"
Drake stopped right in front of her, puffing his chest proudly. "If you hug me, I’ll tell you!" he said, flapping his arms like wings.
"Drake..." Alina began, trying to sound stern, but his grin was too adorable to resist. She sighed and gestured with her hand. "Alright, come here."
He let out a joyful squeal and immediately threw himself into her arms. His little wings brushed against her shoulders as he wrapped his arms around her neck, pressing his warm, chubby cheek against hers.
"Teacher," he mumbled with a pout, rubbing her back in small circles, "if you marry someone, you’ll still come to teach us, right? I don’t like other teachers."
Alina blinked, caught between shock and laughter. She gently pulled away and looked at him, her lips trembling with amusement. "Drake," she said with a soft laugh, "who told you I’m getting married? I don’t even have a boyfriend!"
Drake tilted his head, confused. "What’s a boyfriend?"
Alina chuckled, unsure how to explain it to a four-year-old dragon. "Well... a boyfriend is someone you want to spend your life with," she said kindly.
Drake’s eyes sparkled immediately. "Then can I be your boyfriend, Teacher?!" he asked, his tail wiggling in excitement.
Before she could answer, a small voice piped up beside them. "I want to be your boyfriend too, Teacher!" Sable said eagerly, his cheeks turning pink as he clutched her sleeve.
Alina nearly burst into laughter but managed to keep a straight face. "No, no, sweethearts," she said gently, trying not to giggle. "A boyfriend is like a husband—like how your mom and dad stay together, okay?"
Drake blinked slowly, his little brow furrowed as he tried to understand. "Ohhh..." he said, nodding solemnly, though it was clear he didn’t.
Then Alina leaned closer, narrowing her eyes in mock suspicion. "But tell me this—who told you that I’m getting married and hugged the Principal?"
Drake’s tail twitched. He looked left, then right, as if deciding whether to confess. "Uh... oh... Boo told us," he finally said, fidgeting with his hands.
Alina sighed and pressed her fingers to her forehead. "Of course he did."
From somewhere nearby, faint giggling could be heard—followed by a panicked little "Uh-oh!" as Boo realized he’d been caught.
Alina exhaled slowly, shaking her head with a tired smile. "That ghost is going to be the end of me," she murmured.
