I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 522 - 520: Then Sober Up (Part 4)
Vera quietly turned her face, and he raised his hand to turn her little head back.
"No need to look, she doesn’t look as good as you."
"Come on, that’s just love is blind."
Kris Cooper shrugged.
"Why are you competing with a flamingo?!"
Flamingo?!
Vera turned her face with confusion. It seemed that to fully display her long legs and tower over Vera in height, Irene Spencer specifically wore a pair of ultra-high fashion leather shoes with high waterproof platforms today, and chose red to match her handbag.
Such heels wouldn’t be comfortable to wear, so she rested one of her legs to save energy. From afar, indeed, she looked a bit like a flamingo.
Pfft!
She couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
"Honey... you are too talented!"
As she spoke, the two of them had already walked into the VIP Hall.
Once Deputy Director Daffa Perkin saw the two of them, he hurriedly came over to greet them.
"Please, come inside, Mr. Kenton and the others are here, and the seats are reserved for you!"
The two walked to the table where Kenton Maverick, the director, and main actors including Logan Miles stood up to greet them.
As everyone had arrived early and casually sat down, naturally, they were seated side by side, leaving three empty seats at the table.
Vera immediately walked over and sat in the middle seat.
It went without saying that these three seats were prepared for her, Kris Cooper, and Irene Spencer; she wouldn’t allow that woman to sit next to her husband.
Kris Cooper helped her lay down the napkin and sat down next to her, and the two began to chat with the others.
By this time, Irene Spencer had also walked into the hall.
Daffa Perkin led her to the table, and seeing her, everyone was a bit surprised.
After all, two people wearing the same clothes and sitting together always seemed a little odd.
Firstly, because Vera indeed suited this outfit better, and secondly, because Vera entered first, everyone had the initial impression of her, making Irene Spencer seem like a knock-off, which made them a bit uncomfortable.
Irene Spencer, of course, realized this point as well, and she regretted it immensely.
She originally arrived early, but because she heard Vera hadn’t arrived, she purposely waited by the elevator, planning to enter with Vera, hoping to overshadow her with her height and outfit.
Unexpectedly, everything went wrong, and Vera’s smart move left her feeling very frustrated.
The director, uninterested in Irene Spencer’s petty thoughts, only smiled and gazed in the direction of Kenton Maverick and Kris Cooper.
"Mr. Kenton, Mr. Cooper, since everyone is here, should we... start the meal?"
"Go ahead, Vera has been hungry for a while," Kris Cooper said.
"Alright." The director chuckled in response, then turned to look at Daffa Perkin, "Daffa, tell them to serve the dishes!"
Daffa Perkin went to find the manager to pass along the message, while Irene Spencer adjusted her mood and turned to Kris Cooper.
"Kris, the company is busy with the game beta test lately, isn’t it?"
Before Kris Cooper could reply, Vera chuckled softly.
"Sister Irene, it’s not called a beta test, it’s called an alpha test. The beta test is still a week away!"
Irene Spencer secretly gritted her teeth.
"It seems I really am no match for Vera in game expertise!"
The implication being that acting was her real expertise.
"Games aren’t my field either!" Vera could easily detect her disdain and immediately responded with a big smile, "Games, acting... I just dabble in those. My real expertise is in planning. Our new project at Ashton will soon launch, Director, Logan... you must remember to honor us with your presence at the launch event!"
