Chapter 471: Chapter 469: I’ve Loved You for Six Years (3)

Andre Colin didn’t say anything, just handed over the phone, Vera Wave took it and put it to her ear.

"Hello?"

"Vera, Grandma is so worried..." It’s Grandma Wave’s voice on the phone, "Where are you? Come back quickly!"

"You..." Vera’s lips trembled, "Where are you?"

On the other end, the elderly woman sounded full of concern, "Where else would I be? I’m at home. Are you lost again? How about... I ask Kendrick to pick you up?"

"No... no need." Vera wiped her eyes with her hand, "Wait for me, I’ll come back right now!"

"Do you know the way home?"

"I do."

"Be careful on the road."

"Okay."

Returning the phone to Andre Colin, Vera looked at Kris Cooper before turning to Nathan Leafcastle.

"Brother Nathan, Grandma has been found."

Upon hearing this, Nathan Leafcastle’s face filled with joy, quickly striding over.

"Where?"

"At..." Vera pursed her lips, "She’s at the old house, I’m going to pick her up now."

"Alright. I’ll take you there."

Her gaze swept past Kris Cooper’s dripping wet hair, Vera bit her lip, turned around and rushed down the steps towards the exit.

Nathan Leafcastle followed suit.

Andre Colin tugged on Kris Cooper’s sleeve, "Stunned? Why are you standing still? Hurry and chase her?"

Kris Cooper stood his ground, gritting his teeth, "She’s leaving, what am I chasing after?!"

His tone was angry, yet mostly disappointed.

She asked him to let go?

She actually asked him to let go!

The mere thought of Vera’s earlier behavior made him so mad he wanted to kill someone.

"This isn’t the time for pride, go back and pacify her later, just comply a little!" Andre Colin dragged him down the steps, "You’re... too aggressive, why can’t you just speak clearly? Hurry up!"

Andre Colin forcefully pushed him down the last step and dragged him all the way to the car at the door before initiating the drive back to the old house.

The two returned just as Nathan Leafcastle’s car too had arrived. Vera jumped out in a hurry, rushing up the steps.

Andre Colin stopped the car at the bottom of the steps, gesturing towards Nathan Leafcastle already ascending.

"You understand the strategy of ’retreat when the enemy advances’ better than I do. If Vera really leaves this time, it’s you giving the other guy the chance. Are you really willing to let her be taken away by that man?"

Kris Cooper raised his head, looking at Nathan Leafcastle who’s climbing the steps alongside Vera.

"Even if she leaves, it’s me letting go, not being taken away by anyone else!"

With a slam, he pushed open the car door, running up the steps without even closing it, blocking Nathan Leafcastle.

Andre Colin glanced at the car door hitting the stone pillar and merely shook his head.

"My newly bought car, you really have no reservations!"

Stepping onto the steps, Kris Cooper turned his body, blocking their path.

"Move aside!"

Nathan Leafcastle frowned, on the verge of losing his temper.

Kris Cooper stood on the steps with his arms crossed.

"The old house is mine now; only those I permit can enter, and you’re not included. If you take one more step, I’ll call the police for trespassing."

"Shameless!"

Nathan Leafcastle cursed under his breath.

Kris Cooper’s gaze shifted sideways, landing on Vera beside him.

He initially intended to trouble her, but seeing her small face made the harsh words stuck in his throat.

Andre Colin rushed over in time, supporting Vera’s arm.

"Hurry up, don’t keep the elderly waiting!"
