Chapter 420: Chapter 419: The Girl from Six Years Ago (23)

When he reached the door, he called Tommy Taylor in to give some instructions. He then found a nurse, ensuring she would listen attentively, after which Kris Cooper strode out of the emergency department’s main entrance.

The driver waiting outside quickly followed him, opening the car door. By the time Kris Cooper sat in the car, his face had turned completely cold.

"To the outdoor filming location!"

Inside the ward, Vera Wave withdrew her gaze from the door and immediately focused it on Tommy Taylor.

"Assistant Taylor, I’m fine here. Please, quickly follow him. I’m worried something will happen."

"This..." Tommy Taylor hesitated. He was also worried about Kris Cooper’s temper, and he knew that leaving Vera Wave alone here meant Kris Cooper would inevitably vent his temper on him later.

Vera Wave looked at Tommy Taylor with a pleading expression. "Please, go quickly. I have a nurse and a doctor here; nothing will happen to me. I’m afraid he might impulsively do something foolish! If he doesn’t listen to you, remind him of what he promised me."

"Alright!" Tommy Taylor nodded and handed her his phone. "If anything happens, you can call the President at any time."

Vera Wave acknowledged this. Tommy Taylor then hurried out of the emergency room and took a taxi to the outdoor filming location.

...

...

As this matter was critical, the police arrived swiftly.

When Kris Cooper returned to the filming location, the staff had already started collecting evidence and investigating.

All relevant personnel, from the leading actor Logan Miles to the director and extras, were standing to the side, waiting to be questioned.

Irene Spencer, Anabel Wilton, and others were chatting while they waited.

"If this is traced back, it could be murder!"

"Whoever did this is ruthless, using such methods!"

"I know, right? It’s terrifying!"

Anabel Wilton gently nudged Irene Spencer’s arm. "Irene, who do you think it is?"

"How would I know?" Irene Spencer sighed. "But these methods are truly wicked."

"Vera is so unassuming, yet she ran into such a calamity. Ah, it really shows you can’t judge a book by its cover!" Daffa Perkin shook his head. "If it turns out this was done deliberately, I’d really like to give the culprit a good slap!"

"To gamble with so many lives, is that person still human?"

...

Everyone was chattering animatedly. Irene Spencer stood amongst them, appearing unaffected, but her gaze was fixed nervously on the table.

The driver stopped the car. Kris Cooper got out and walked towards the table. "What’s the situation?"

A staff member, not recognizing him, glanced up and asked, "Who are you?"

"Mr. Cooper?!" An office worker from the management department had also rushed over. Seeing Kris Cooper, he immediately approached respectfully. Noticing Kris Cooper was covered in dirt and mud, the worker asked with a bewildered expression, "What happened to you?"

Kris Cooper didn’t explain, merely stared at him and spoke with gravity.

"The truth *must* be uncovered today!"

"Rest assured, sir, I’ll tell them to speed up!" The manager from the management department nodded and bowed to him, then turned to the crowd. "This Mr. Cooper is also one of our major stakeholders. This matter must be thoroughly investigated."

"Can we retrieve any fingerprints?" a plainclothes detective asked in a low voice.

Another staff member shook his head. "The mouse is covered in dust; the fingerprints are useless!"

Before the incident, there had been multiple test explosions, and the scene was covered in dust. Not only the mouse but also the computer keyboard had a lot of accumulated dust, making fingerprint extraction completely impossible.
