I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 393: Reunion with Nathan Leafcastle (Part 1)
Seeing the name "Top Pick" on the screen, she immediately answered the call.
"Honey, are you here?"
On the other end, Kris Cooper’s voice held a bit of helplessness, "I’m still in Desberg. It’s pouring rain here, and there are clouds in the sky. All flights have been grounded, and I’ve changed my flight to tomorrow morning."
"Is that so..." Vera Wave felt a little disappointed, but quickly smiled again, "Then find a hotel near the airport to rest for the night, and come back when the rain stops tomorrow. I’m flying to Yiwu tomorrow morning, so we’ll only see each other on Monday... Oh, and please tell your parents that I’ll visit them when I get back, okay?"
"I’ll call them right away." Kris Cooper sighed, "I’m sorry, honey."
He had originally planned to come back today to have dinner with his parents and her in the evening. But who would’ve thought the weather wouldn’t cooperate, thus delaying their meeting.
"It’s not your fault it rained. I wasn’t quite ready anyway, and it’s good to have a few more days to prepare, hehe." Glancing at the approaching hotel through the car window, she smiled, "Should I cancel the private room then?"
"Yes, make sure to take care of yourself."
"Don’t worry. It’s getting late, so you should quickly find a place to eat. We’ll meet again on Monday."
After hanging up, Vera paid the fare, got out of the car, and looked at the gift box in her hand, raising her eyebrows slightly.
On this journey, she had been tense, but now that she didn’t have to meet Kris Cooper’s parents tonight, she was somewhat relieved.
Getting out of the car and walking into the hotel, she headed straight into the lobby and hurried her steps as she saw the elevator doors about to close.
"Wait a moment!"
The almost-closed elevator doors reopened.
Stepping into the elevator, Vera politely thanked the person standing by the keypad.
"Thanks..."
Her gaze met the person’s face, and she froze, her thanks stuck halfway through.
Inside the elevator were one man and two women. The tall man standing at the side was none other than Nathan Leafcastle.
She paused for a moment and awkwardly greeted him.
"B-Brother Nathan, what a c-coincidence!"
Even though they had agreed not to meet, chance encounters made it unreasonable not to at least exchange greetings.
Nathan Leafcastle hadn’t expected it to be her either, and his gaze fell on her.
He saw the young girl dressed in a delicate cream-colored outfit, her long hair draped smoothly over her shoulders, her face with subtle makeup, and wearing silver high heels.
This outfit added a rare touch of femininity, making her seem even more beautiful than the last time he saw her.
"Yes, quite the coincidence!"
He spoke softly, his voice a bit hoarse, and those four words carried a mix of emotions.
Beside him, Liliana Davis’s eyes also shifted towards Vera, and recognizing the familiar face, she immediately realized who Vera was.
"Nathan, this is Vera, right?"
"Oh..." Nathan Leafcastle came back to his senses, "Vera, let me introduce you. This is my mother, and this is my friend, Sally Dalton."
With his introduction, Vera’s gaze moved over to Liliana Davis and Sally Dalton, and then she smiled and extended her hand to Liliana Davis.
"Auntie, hello, long time no see; please don’t mind that I didn’t recognize you."
"How could I mind?" Liliana Davis extended her hand and gently shook hers, then held Vera’s arm, "It’s been so many years since we last met, you’ve grown so much that I barely recognized you."
