Inside the venue, there was a moment of silence.

One chairman immediately stood upright, "Mr. President and Mr. Maverick are just joking, everyone wishes for Ashton to flourish, why would anyone challenge you two?"

"Indeed!" Another chairman also stood up, "We are all President’s troops, anyone who challenges the President, is challenging us!"

"Exactly, no need for you two to step in, we’d take him down ourselves!"

They’re all a bunch of old hands, how could they not see the situation, they quickly took the initiative to show their stance and loyalty.

All the chairmen were so obsequious, not to mention the higher-ups at Ashton, when they look at Kris Cooper, their eyes are filled with respect and even a bit of apprehension.

"Thank you all for your hard work, let’s call it a day!" Kris Cooper nodded slightly, his gaze fell on Vera Wave who had already stood up, "Ready to leave?"

"You head back first!" Vera smiled apologetically at him, glancing around, "I’ve still got work here, right?"

It’s important to finish what one starts, since she’s the head in charge of this project, she can’t leave until everything is sorted out here.

"Alright." Kris Cooper nodded, "Then Kenton and I will head back, take care."

"Got it." Vera responded with a smile, her gaze moved over to Kenton Maverick, "Bye, cold deity!"

The cheeky girl, already wearing his ring yet still flirting around?

"No need for ’bye’, get back to work!" Kris Cooper raised his large hand and pushed Vera away by her face, his gaze then fell on Kenton Maverick, "Where are you headed?!"

Kenton Maverick shrugged his shoulders and stepped towards the exit.

Vera’s head was pushed by his large hand, yet she still tilted her head to wave at Kenton Maverick.

When she saw the man turn his face, she immediately withdrew her hand, showing him an innocent smile.

"Mr. President, be safe on the road!"

You cheeky girl, wait till tonight to see how I’ll deal with you!

The group of chairmen and higher-ups all nodded to Vera Wave in farewell, then turned and followed behind Kris Cooper and Kenton Maverick like he was the center of their universe.

Watching everyone walk away, Merlin Bradley and Lily Wong moved to either side of Vera Wave.

"Mrs. President, you’ve really kept it well hidden!"

"Exactly, such a big thing and you didn’t even give us a hint, treating us like outsiders?"

"Sorry!" Vera gave a bow to each of them, "This little girl apologizes to the two eldest sisters, is that okay?"

"Who are you calling the eldest sister?" Merlin Bradley rolled her eyes at her, "I’m young and beautiful, nothing like an elder sister!"

"Exactly!" Lily Wong raised her chin, "Someone as beautiful as me, like an elder sister?"

"Alright, alright, you two aren’t elder sisters, you’re young misses, okay?" Vera grinned mischievously.

Both shot her a look simultaneously.

"Silly Vera, who are you calling a young miss!"

Vera’s lips curved slightly as she was about to speak.

"Daring to call our dear Vera smelly, aren’t you afraid Mr. President will cut your funds!" Mary chuckled as she came over, "Vera, anything you need me to help with?"

Now that Vera is the president’s wife, Mary has every reason to curry favor.
