"Please don’t worry." The doctor smiled reassuringly at him. "The elderly woman’s wound is healing very well, and her overall physical condition is quite good. But... the recovery of the brain isn’t something that can be accomplished overnight. After all, Alzheimer’s disease is a global problem. We’ve already tried very hard, but it seems the results aren’t significant. Lately, her moods have been fluctuating quite a bit, and she keeps insisting on going home. The doctors from our department have held a treatment meeting, and our suggestion is, if possible, that you take her home for a period of recuperation. Perhaps a change of environment might help her recovery."
Kris Cooper secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Vera’s work had finally gotten on track, and if something happened to Grandma Wave now, it would definitely affect her.
"Then... can I take her home today?"
The old house has plenty of space; they just need Mrs. Feng to prepare a room.
"Hmm..." The doctor pondered briefly, "I can prescribe some medication for you, but the discharge procedures can only be completed tomorrow."
Kris Cooper nodded, "Is there anything we should be cautious about?"
"Not much else; however, she’ll definitely need someone to take care of her, considering her current mental state isn’t very good," the doctor reminded.
"Alright, then please prescribe the medication."
Kris Cooper stepped out of the ward, called Andre Colin, and explained to him briefly.
He also called Mrs. Feng to prepare the room, then returned to the ward and instructed Mrs. Lee to help Grandma Wave pack.
"You’ve been taking care of Grandma Wave for quite some time now; why not come along with me. Besides the salary Vera gives you, I’ll double it, just don’t tell Vera."
Doubling the salary for the same work, Mrs. Lee was naturally delighted, and she immediately and excitedly helped Grandma Wave pack her belongings.
Kris Cooper went to get the medication, and Andre Colin personally came downstairs to see them off.
Mrs. Lee carried the belongings, and the two of them helped the elderly woman off the hospital bed.
"Where are we going?" Grandma Wave asked curiously.
"Grandma!" Kris Cooper refocused his thoughts, smiling as he held her arm. "I’m taking you home."
Grandma Wave immediately showed a child-like expression of surprise, "Really?"
"Really." Kris Cooper supported her towards the door, "Haven’t you been missing your flowers and fish? If we don’t go back, the peach blossoms will wither."
"Good, good, good!" The elderly woman’s eyes were filled with tears of joy, "I miss home so much."
"You don’t have to miss it any longer. We’ll be back shortly!" Andre Colin also smiled and said.
The two of them helped Grandma Wave downstairs, and Mrs. Lee placed the luggage and some fruit in the car, bid farewell to Andre Colin, and Kris Cooper sat in the driver’s seat.
He noticed the fruit placed on the passenger seat and his mind was stirred.
"Did anyone come to see Grandma today?"
"They came right after you, said it was Mr. Leafcastle’s mother."
Nathan Leafcastle’s mother?
Kris Cooper immediately recalled the two people he encountered at the elevator.
"Was she with a foreign assistant?"
"Yes, blonde hair and blue eyes, quite attractive, surprisingly fluent in Chinese."
Indeed, it was her!
"Did she say anything?"
Mrs. Lee shook her head, "Not much. She said she heard Grandma was ill and came to check on her. She said a few words to Grandma, and asked if Grandma recognized her. Grandma said she didn’t know her, I explained briefly, she stayed for a while and then left."
Kris Cooper started the car and drove towards the hospital, and the image of Liliana Davis’ face flashed through his mind again, raising his eyebrows slightly.
That woman seemed vaguely familiar, as if he’d seen her somewhere before.
