Chapter 44: Another Trash?

In the real world, the light surrounding Michael’s body gradually retracted inside his body. Seeing this, Leo immediately caught Michael so he wouldn’t fall to the ground.

The situation should have been similar to when he awakened, but Michael looked a bit strange right now. His twisted, ugly face was full of despair, like someone who was the world’s richest man one second and turned into a beggar the next.

"What’s going on? Did this happen when I awakened?"

Leo scratched his head in doubt and then checked Michael’s body a bit to see if anything was abnormal. After confirming everything was still okay, he calmly tossed Michael into a corner of the tree and continued practicing using his current panda body.

For him, as long as Michael’s body had no problem, then there was no problem. Problems with his spirit? What nonsense, how could a god’s spirit have problems so easily? If a genie went crazy right after signing a contract, that would be a bit too trashy.

---

Nearly three days later, Michael bounced up from the bed. The time he woke up was a bit earlier than Leo’s, not sure if it was because of a different body or because the experience in that space was shorter.

"Noooooo!!!"

As soon as he got up, not even clear where he was, he wailed miserably. Someone who didn’t know would think he was about to die.

"Shut up."

A large, firm paw slapped him, causing Michael’s head to hit the ground. Though crude, it was very effective, the screaming immediately stopped.

The one who could easily stun Michael with one slap was none other than Raphael. Leo is also strong for his age, but to knock Michael out cold with one hit still requires a lot of strength.

"Leo, what’s wrong with this kid? When you awakened, you weren’t like this."

Every year there are strange things, but this year there are especially many. Leo awakening was one thing, now another six-year-old kid also awakened, and what’s more, both are acquainted with him. Something unprecedented happens twice in just a few days.

Raphael originally had no intention of turning the whole world upside down, but it seems like he has to. So many coincidences like this make him suspect fate has arranged for him to do things he doesn’t like doing.

"How would I know? Right after he awakened, he looked utterly despairing too. When I finished awakening, I felt extremely refreshed, completely opposite to him."

Leo shrugged, he didn’t know, and really wanted to know what exactly was wrong with Michael. In three years, he had never seen Michael wail so miserably. Even when beaten black and blue, he didn’t scream that loudly.

"Hurry up and wake him to ask clearly. If he really has gone mad, I’ll just bury him to avoid the eyesore." Raphael snorted but didn’t look like he wanted to kill anyone.

Leo knew full well his father didn’t like him or Michael, but he also wouldn’t do anything. The talented value the talented; even if he hated them, there was some appreciation.

Moreover, Raphael, while not what you’d call a good person like his old comrades, also couldn’t be considered a bad person. At the very least, he was much better than those nobles who were an eyesore just to look at.

If he slapped Michael’s head again now, he probably wouldn’t wake up, so it was better to find another way. Looking around, he saw a water jug nearby; Leo didn’t hesitate to pour the water on Michael’s face.

"Cough, cough, cough... Which bastard?"

Michael cursed loudly after being made to choke on water. Water flowed into his nose, making his nasal bridge sting, and the sudden cold made him even more uncomfortable.

"What are you screaming about? Did you successfully awaken or not, looking so depressed?"

Leo ignored Michael’s discomfort; he just wanted to know what had happened. That despairing expression looked like a failed awakening, but Leo didn’t think that was the correct answer.

Mentioning the awakening, Michael’s face turned as black as a pot’s bottom. He did awaken a god-grade talent, but didn’t get any clue about a divine artifact.

The feeling of losing something is clearly more unpleasant than never having had it from the start. If before awakening he knew he would awaken a max-level talent, of course he would be very happy. Now, even though he really received that talent, he couldn’t be happy at all.

"No, I awakened successfully."

"If you awakened successfully, why do you look so miserable? Bad side effects?" Leo frowned in doubt, unable to figure it out for a moment.

Michael opened his mouth to complain but finally stopped. The matter about the divine artifact could be told to Leo but not to Raphael.

Even though Raphael is an ally, for now, the fewer people know about this, the better. He could tell Leo because Leo is also an heir of a god like him.

"The process just startled me. Maybe I’m quite timid, I get scared when I encounter something strange."

Michael said, a trace of fear could be seen from him. Of course, this was him pretending for Raphael to see, as he himself felt nothing but regret.

Raphael looked somewhat suspiciously straight at Michael. Logically, the awakening experience could be considered a strange event. The point he doubted was Michael calling himself timid. Michael might not be as reckless as Leo, but calling him timid is a bit wrong.

"Quick, show me your ability."

He still felt it was better to see directly. Perhaps Michael had made a contract with something relatively scary.

"Wait a second, let me try..."

Reality isn’t like the world of consciousness. Michael needed to get familiar with his new power a bit before he could use it.

As soon as he finished speaking, a small speck of light, like a star in the sky, flew out from the top of Michael’s head. The star shone and then enveloped his entire body, his form gradually grew larger, and four more arms grew on his body. Not long after, the light gradually dissipated; his height now was about ninety percent of Leo’s panda form height.

"Good, very good. Another trash with a one-star talent."

Raphael’s face was beaming as if every chance for Leo to realize his ideals had vanished. Luckily, he was professional and managed not to laugh right in the two kids’ faces.
