I Am Genie-Chapter 114: Danger Approaching

Leo looked at his two 'reliable' comrades who hadn't even walked a few minutes before showing signs they were about to fight, and then reluctantly sighed.

He himself didn't see any problem, but if they kept this up once they got into the city, it wouldn't be good. Could a noble lady act like a thug? Could a slave hit their master like that?

Sooner or later, someone would get suspicious of behavior that didn't fit the norm. When danger came, even if they had Raphael's help, afterward it'd be hard to move around freely.

The worst-case scenario was that Raphael's appearance would drag in a bunch of old enemies that even he couldn't beat. If that happened, no matter how god-level talented the three of them were, they'd still just end up dead.

"We're about to reach a crowded place. Are you two going to keep acting like you live deep in the wilderness?"

Both Michael and Iris gave him a weird look. Hadn't they all been hiding in the mountains for the past six years? And if you were talking about living in the forest, wasn't Iris always in the forest?

Two weird stares fixed on Leo, along with the sudden silence, making him feel a little awkward.

"Ahem, it's true we used to be in the mountains. What I mean is, we're moving to a new place so we have to get used to a new way of living. That way we won't raise suspicion."

Leo still held a tiny hope that these two comrades would actually listen to what he said, but he was dreaming.

"Huh? A bunch of pathetic humans want me to change my habits? Are you looking down on me?"

She glared at him, her threatening intent clear and undisguised. Was the great Dragon God really going to change for some mortals? No way in hell.

"I agree with Iris on this. Why the hell do I have to change? I do what I want. I'm a genie, immortal and eternal. No one can make me change."

Michael also made a bold declaration. If his face weren't bruised, maybe his words would've been a bit more convincing.

What Iris said, Leo couldn't refute. But what Michael said was a complete joke.

"Hah, you talk big, but why were you so scared of Iris before? If you didn't have some strength now, you'd still be afraid of her."

Leo curled his lip in contempt. Even though Michael had toughened up a lot after Iris's 'training', deep down he still had that habit of cowering when facing someone strong and putting on airs when facing the weak.

"Hmph, what's so great about bringing up the past? I'm way stronger now. Even Iris can't beat me easily. If she doesn't use a divine artifact, I even have a chance to win."

Michael raised his chin and answered arrogantly. He was nothing like before; his strength had increased a lot. In a one-on-one fight without domains, he had about a forty percent chance of winning against Leo.

If they both used domains, at this point he would definitely win. Chaotic World domain had good potential, but right now in a solo fight it wasn't as good as Supreme Kitchen domain.

"Hmph, don't get cocky. Even if you also had a divine artifact, you'd still lose."

Although Iris gave a snort, she didn't deny what Michael said. That domain of his was really strong in the early stages because of that teleportation ability.

Her domain wasn't bad either, but to use it to its fullest, she had to use a divine artifact. If she threw rocks or normal weapons, it was too weak. Throwing a divine artifact was way more effective.

Later on, if she could use energy-release type attacks, she could replace physical weapons. But it still wouldn't be as good as a divine artifact.

So she had to admit, without the Seven-Hued Celestial Dragon Spear, it'd be very hard for her to beat Michael.

"But you can't deny what I just said."

Michael was smug. Roughly eighty percent of his pent-up frustration had disappeared. He wasn't the type to hold a grudge, so he got mad easily, but he also forgot about it easily.

Sometimes bringing up old stuff would annoy him a little, but he wasn't the type to completely lose his temper when angry.

While they were talking, suddenly a few footsteps ahead caught their attention. Judging by the number of steps, there were probably several people. And they are not the big tall type either.

Three figures slowly emerged from below the slope. When they saw their legs, all three were surprised because what stood before them were definitely three kids.

They each had an old small sack over their faces, with two holes cut out to see where they were going. Judging by appearance, the one in front was a girl and the other two were boys. Their weapons were also extremely ordinary: a piece of wood, a rusty broken half-sword, and an old kitchen knife.

These three kids posed no threat to any of the three of them. They were such weak trash that they wouldn't even bother looking at them if they didn't start trouble on their own.

"I planted this road… this tree… this tree I uproot?"

The kid holding the piece of wood stammered incoherently, like he hadn't memorized his lines yet. And Michael seemed to have heard something similar to this line before.

"Iris, looks like these brats wanna rob you."

Michael grinned and nudged Iris's shoulder but she didn't react. Her gaze was fixed straight ahead.

"Even with Raphael following behind for protection, we shouldn't be this careless. Something's not right."

Suddenly seeing Iris so serious, Michael and Leo both went on alert at once, but they couldn't figure out what she was staring at.

Raphael, hiding in the distance and observing, now also focused on the three kids. He put on a device that looked like glasses over his eyes.

The lenses looked pretty much like regular glasses, but carved into them were strange symbols that bore some resemblance to the things drawn on the paper used for awakening.
