I Am Extraordinary Alone-Chapter 622 - 620 Wang Ye’s Plan
Chapter 622: Chapter 620 Wang Ye’s Plan
"What have you found out?" Leng Kai asked.
"The people here are all devotees called by Him. I just ran into a woman who said she could hear the sacred sound, I guess she’s been converted," Wang Mingxue said.
"So that means... everyone staying here is part of the family?" Leng Kai said.
"Not necessarily, there are those like us who can’t hear the sacred sound, but what’s the difference? They are all determined to side with Him," Wang Mingxue said.
"What else? Why don’t they go into the city?" Leng Kai asked.
"There are too many people in the city. The sacred sound told the newcomers to wait outside, that’s what I’m worried about, maybe those Iron Men got converted inside the city..." Wang Mingxue said.
"Wait until those in the city are assimilated, then let the outsiders in, a continuous stream," Wang Ye interjected.
Wang Ye, chewing on beef jerky and eyeing the people in the vehicle town with an ill-intent look, made Wang Mingxue worry. At this moment, the mental state of this companion was developing towards something uncontrollable, she was concerned that this teammate might drag their small team towards doom.
But Wang Ye seemed to have his own plans. After finishing a strip of beef jerky, he put the packaging back in the car, then knocked on the roof to catch Leng Kai’s attention.
"Come here, come on, let’s talk, I have a plan," Wang Ye said softly.
"What are you going to do?" Leng Kai was somewhat surprised.
Wang Mingxue walked over to the car, curious to hear what this silent companion had to say.
"Look over there, at the blue SUV," Wang Ye gestured with his eyes.
Everyone looked and saw a sky-blue SUV parked not far away, with a travel case on top. A family of four was playing with a video game console they had taken out of the car, the door half-open, with something resembling an electrical current adapter half exposed.
"What about it?" Leng Kai asked.
"That electrical converter, we could use that. Then look over there, a group of young people having an open-air barbecue. They probably didn’t know before they came that you don’t need to eat or sleep here. They brought canned gas, blowtorches, and fuel," Wang Ye said.
"You want to create an explosion? I know what you’re planning! Forget about it..." Wang Mingxue flatly refused.
"Even if you don’t help, I’ll do it myself, unless you want to stand with these cultists and stop me," Wang Ye said.
Leng Kai saw Wang Ye getting agitated and quickly walked around the back of the car to stand between him and Wang Mingxue, saying, "Wait, wait. Are you planning to... blow this place up? Kill everyone here?"
"She said it too, the people here can hear the sacred sound, either dedicated followers or just raw materials for His army! I don’t think you can talk them into going back just with words. I was in a terrorist organization before, those brainwashed idiots and extremists can’t be convinced by talking! And these people... these people are even more pitiful, their brains have been corroded by Him, they’re not human anymore, they’re demons skin-clad... demons deserve to die... they must be exterminated..." Wang Ye uttered in a low voice.
Leng Kai knew Wang Ye was right, he couldn’t refute it, but he didn’t quite agree with the idea either. After some thought, he said, "It’s too risky, we don’t have enough ammo, and we’ve used some. If we use up what’s left here, how are we going to get George out? It’s bound to be troublesome all the way."
"There are too many vehicles here, I saw oil trucks, and electric cars, not to mention a bunch of equipment for generating electricity and starting fires. This place is basically a tinderbox, just not ignited yet, we only need to light a fire," Wang Ye said.
"Let’s... let’s not pursue this idea for now," Wang Mingxue said.
"Count for yourself, how many people do you think are here?" Wang Ye asked.
Wang Mingxue instinctively looked back. This vehicle town was neither too big nor too small, very much like those impoverished areas also known as slums. At a brief glance, there could be tens of thousands of people gathered here.
"If you don’t kill them, what we’ll be facing later on is a large bunch of those ash-colored guys," Wang Ye said.
Leng Kai propped his hands on the car roof and let out a breath, pondering for a long while, then said, "This is not an easy thing to do. Even if these people are all ordinary now, if what we do is discovered, we probably won’t escape."
Wang Ye leaned closer and said, "We do it stealthily. Let’s take a look around first, find some tools, and look for a break-in point."
"If we find that it can’t be done, then we’ll drop the plan," Wang Mingxue said.
Wang Ye thought it over and nodded, "Okay."
So, the three dispersed temporarily, wandering through the vehicle town, looking for the tools and ways to detonate all the vehicles.
Wang Ye slipped his hands into his pockets and walked down the narrow crowded path, his eyes constantly peering into the cars on either side to see what was inside. After hearing the "sacred sounds," these people knew very little about the Red Zone, so they brought a lot of living supplies, including batteries and gas storage tanks.
These things could cause an explosion with just a little heat.
Those electric cars had their chassis full of batteries, and all it would take was blasting a hole in the chassis for the batteries to ignite.
These fools’ cars were loaded with combustibles; one car catching fire could start a blaze.
Wang Ye pondered that he needed to find a good spot to start the fire, then he would see where those driving gas cars were...
Ignite, explode... burn everyone to death...
Alas, there was no night here, and people wouldn’t sleep. They couldn’t take advantage of the cover of darkness to operate, unable to burn people to death in their dreams.
Taking a few more steps, Wang Ye saw several people sitting behind a black car, wearing cross faces, which stood out in stark contrast to the surrounding blissful believers.
He walked up to them, stood in front of them with his hands on his hips, looking down at the group.
The group was all Caucasian, men and women, with nothing but their presence in the empty car, either they knew that no food or drink was needed in the Red Zone, or...
Wang Ye didn’t speak, just stared at them. They didn’t speak either, just stared back at Wang Ye. After a long silence, one of the women couldn’t hold back and whispered, "I see you... don’t believe in that thing like us."
"I am like you; I didn’t bring anything," Wang Ye replied.
"What do you want?" the man sitting next to the woman asked.
"I want to set off some fireworks, have a barbecue," Wang Ye responded.
The people exchanged glances and asked, "Military? Or...?"
"I work alone," Wang Ye stated.
"Oh... you’re courting death," the man said.
"And you?" Wang Ye inquired.
"We are observing," replied the woman.
"Observation is pointless. You can understand the situation here with just a few glances," Wang Ye declared.
"Alright, do you need help?" the man offered.
"I will come back for you," said Wang Ye, and then he turned and left.
He wandered around some more, checked his watch, and after roaming for almost half an hour, he headed back to their car.
Leng Kai was the first to return; he had jotted down some notes and, seeing Wang Ye return, slid the notebook over from the top of the car and said, "Take a look. I’ve drawn a rough map. There are three exits in the eastern area, and I also found a school bus filled with a lot of liquor. I chatted with that group of people for a bit, all a bunch of drunkards."
"Liquor can burn. We can steal it and pour it into the cracks of the engine hood to ignite the car," Wang Ye explained.
At that moment, Wang Mingxue also returned, carrying a shopping bag.
"What’s that?" Wang Ye asked.
"The group on the west side is planning a big outdoor BBQ. I saw them moving the site... they even invited us to join. Look, this bag is full of barbeque utensils," said Wang Mingxue while opening the bag, revealing a bunch of knives, forks, small plates, and even napkins to wipe one’s mouth with.
"Damn them, they think we’ll join them around the bonfire singing hymns..." Wang Ye commented.
"Did you find anything useful?" Leng Kai asked at that time.
"I found a few like us..." Wang Ye said.
