I Am An Illegitimate Child With A Legitimate Reason For Revenge-Chapter 57: Human beings are supposed to be born with a conscience but ...
Clara immediately stumped towards them and grabbed Ariel’s hand, pulled her away from Mason and slapped her hot across the face.
A shocked Mason couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw Clara.
"You... What are you doing here?" He asked her and she stumped towards him, giving him his very own slap.
"You shameless duo." She accused them.
"How dare you slap her?" Marco asked in shock but Clara did not simply answer his question and fired back.
"How dare you ask me that? You’re here with..." She pointed at Ariel with a disgusted expression. "With this bitch. How dare you cheat on me with her?"
"Excuse me?" Ariel called out and the moment Clara turned to her, she got a tight slap across her cheek. "I don’t appreciate getting hit by fools." She said, glaring down at her. "How dare you raise your hand at me?"
"You..." Clara raised her hand to slap her again but Marco immediately grabbed her.
"Enough." He said, looking angrily at Clara. "Don’t act like a foolish woman, Clara."
"Oh, so now I’m a foolish woman?" She struggled but couldn’t get her hand out of his hold. "You’ll regret this. Let go of me."
Ariel watched them and touched her cheek. She secretly grinned as her eyes trailed off to the reporter that was secretly filming the whole thing as well as taking pictures.
It had been long since she got hit so when Clara hit her, she couldn’t help but hit back. And hitting Clara back after all the torment she had forced her to endure over the years, it felt so refreshing.
But that slap couldn’t compensate her for all her sufferings. After all, a lady’s hands were light compared to that of a mans’.
This brought her gaze to Marco. His beatings, she could never forget how painful they were.
’Human beings are supposed to be born with a conscience but these two... ’ She paused and shook her head.
"You bastard, after I stooped so low to marry a beggar like you." Clara ranted. "And that wasn’t enough, you went ahead to cheat on me just a month after our wedding. How can you be so shameless?"
"I didn’t beg you to marry me, did I?" Marco asked her, his gaze piercing into her. "You just needed someone to marry into your family. I must have been dumb. Only a fool would agree to live as a live in son-in-law."
"Haha." Ariel suddenly laughed and they both turned to her, wondering what was funny. "Oh, I’m sorry. I just got bored and remembered something funny."
Marco glanced at Clara and heavily pushed her back.
"I already did what I could as a son-in-law. I helped your father in ways that no other could. It’s thanks to me that he got to win that bid yesterday so you should show me a bit more respect and stay away from my business." He declared.
Clara landed on the floor after being pushed and she looked up at the both of them whose eyes seemed to be mocking her very existence.
"You two... " She clenched her fists and her teeth. There was no way she was going to let them have their way.
"Let’s go, Peppa." Marco said, shielding Ariel from Clara’s sight.
"But shouldn’t you comfort your wife at this point?" Ariel asked him. "I mean, you two might really break up if you don’t resolve this now."
"I don’t care." Marco said. "I was planning on it anyway. After today, I’ll get a divorce."
"Then what?" Ariel asked.
"I’ll be your personal pleasure pet." He admitted, leaning in as if asking for a kiss and she laughed.
"Oh, really?" She stopped laughing and grinned, her eyes saying more than her words could ever admit. "And what if I get tired of you? What would you do then?" She asked, shocking him.
"What?"
Ariel had finally invited the idea into his head and so she decided to change the topic.
"Oh gosh. I’m no longer in the mood to celebrate." She said and checked her phone. "Hm, maybe I should go home and comfort my hubby instead of wasting time here. He seemed pretty down after losing the bid yesterday." She said and Clara laughed.
"Yeah right." She said and found her way to her feet, dusting her pretty dress that was now crumpled. "Yes, he was down alright." She added and laughed more.
"What exactly are you laughing for? You’re about to get divorced." Ariel acted oblivious to the whole thing, secretly giving Clara the push to spill and she spilled.
"Your ’hubby’ knows of your little cheating streak, you hear that?" Clara said proudly.
"Oh? And how would you know that?" Ariel asked her, showing no interest in her words.
Clara stood with an air of confidence as she folded her hands and grinned.
"Yesterday, he called me." She said, "How do you think I managed to get in here? He booked a room just for the both of us in order to get back at his cheating girlfriend." She smirked. "You can keep Marco. I’ll take good care of Raymond Stein and be Mrs. Stein." She boldly declared and Ariel burst out laughing.
"Wow! Wow! Wow! This is just wow." She wiped the tears from the corner of her eye and looked up. "To think you would go to such lengths." She said and chuckled. "Way to fabricate an amazing fantasy story. Really, you need the award for best story teller."
Clara immediately got pissed by her words.
"You don’t believe me? Well, I don’t need to explain everything to a bitch like you. Watch what happens when he comes in a minute. You’re done. Let’s see how long you can be arrogant for." She said and grinned.
"You’re being serious?" Marco asked her, staring in horror. "Raymond Stein is coming here?"
"Better believe it."
"What are you scared of? She’s just bluffing and trying to save face." Ariel said. "And besides, the only reason why Raymond Stein would come here is if I called him."
"What?" Marco looked at her confused. "I don’t understand. Did you call him?"
"And what if I did?" Ariel tilted her head.
"What’s that supposed to mean?"
Suddenly, slow and heavy footsteps were heard advancing towards them from the path that they could not see. As they watched, wondering whose footsteps those belonged to, Marco’s entire body froze up in fear.
’No way. It can’t be. If Raymond Stein catches me with his lover, he won’t let me off. Forget about climbing up the ladders, I might even lose my job.’ he thought, his body trembling with the thought.
Ariel spotted this and her lips curled. She saw the happiness in Clara’s expectant expression and her lips curled up even wider.
The owner of the footsteps finally showed himself and Marco flinched. But that wasn’t Raymond but rather a random bodyguard.
Relief suddenly coursed through Marco’s body as he let out a sigh of relief. Then, he sharply turned to Clara.
"To hell with your fake delusions. There’s no way Raymond Stein agreed to meet up with you. Do you think you’re something simply because your family has some money?" He snorted and an annoyed Clara talked back at him.
"But he did." She said, clenching her fists. "Just you wait. He’ll come for sure. I even have the call logs." She took out her phone and showed them the call history as well as the text telling her to meet in this hotel. "We made plans."
"Wow." Ariel said in a lame tone and took a step back. "I’m already bored." She flung her hair in the air and sighed. "I didn’t think there was a married woman who was very proud of her cheating affair. She’s even shoving the evidence in her husband’s face." She sneered. "Anyway, I didn’t come here to get hit and listen to disturbing words. I’m going home." She said and attempted to walk away when Marco held her hand.
"Wait a minute." He said and she turned to him.
