I Am An Illegitimate Child With A Legitimate Reason For Revenge-Chapter 43: Exercise with me
Ariel kept scrolling and there seemed to be no end to what she was looking at.
"What are you doing?" Raymond asked, approaching her and she looked up. He was wearing a pair of grey sweatpants and a plain white t-shirt that stuck right on to his skin and showed the shape of his abs.
Not to talk of his biceps that, for how long, had been waiting to be showcased like that. It was rare seeing him wear simple clothes.
"What are you doing?" Raymond asked again, seeing that his first question had sunk into oblivion.
"Well, I’m... " She looked away, her face suddenly flushing. "... I’m reading the comments."
"The one under your video?" He asked, suddenly leaning closer and she instinctively moved away.
"Sir... Sir Raymond, can you be a little self aware?" She asked in whispers but he did not understand. "Anyway, I’ve not seen White for a while now. Did you send him away."
"He’s in Hong Kong." Raymond answered.
"When did he leave? I didn’t even notice." She said, putting down the tablet.
Raymond’s eyes rolled as he thought of what to say. He couldn’t tell her that he let him go alone on an important business trip because he didn’t want to leave her alone after seeing her cry.
Yes, for some reason, he ignored his business just to take care of a crying Ariel and sent White to Hong Kong that very night.
Raymond simply didn’t want to let her be alone. And since he didn’t go in person, the deal over there was a bit stretched out so White still wasn’t done even after four days.
The call to Hong Kong was a last minute stuff so he used the excuse that he had other things going on in the country to send White in his place.
"He left four days ago." Raymond answered and Ariel nodded, though she didn’t think too much about it. Her mind was trying to fight the urge to look at Raymond’s body.
"So, what are you doing for you to wear that?" She asked.
"This?" He looked at his body. "I’m going to exercise at the fitness room." He said and she tilted her head in confusion.
"Fitness room?"
Unknowing to Ariel, there was a room where gym equipments were. That was actually Raymond’s private gym since he preferred exercising alone, rather than in crowded places. And he didn’t need a coach, since he knew how to use the equipments well.
"It’s not everyday I get a day as free as this. Do you want to exercise with me?" He asked and she got even more confused.
"Eh?"
Ariel, curious to know exactly what the fitness room looked like, got dressed for it and went to the fitness room, with Edward’s guidance.
As soon as Ariel opened the door, she realized that the fitness room was another name to call a home gym. Though she hadn’t been to a gym before, she knew how it looked like.
She entered the place and realized Edward wasn’t going in with her. So that meant it would be just Raymond and her, right?
For some reason, she found herself blushing. The thought of staying alone with Raymond in a wide space such as this made her blush.
’Why am I blushing? It’s not like we haven’t been in a closed space before? It’s probably because of the way I saw him today. He has such a nice body.’ She fanned her face and cleared her throat. "Sir Raymond?" She called.
"Over here." He responded and she followed his voice, only to find him lifting weights. He saw her approaching so he threw down the heavy weight.
The ground felt the impact of it’s heaviness and vibrated accordingly. This scared Ariel.
"And what does that do?" She found herself asking.
"It strengthens my bones, reduces the chances of getting an heart attack and diabetes. Also," he picked up a towel. "It helps burn calories."
"So you do this everyday? How did I not notice?"
"I don’t do it everyday." He refuted. "Besides, I don’t even have the time to visit as often as I did in the past."
"Right." Ariel scrolled her eyes. "So, what can you recommend for me, coach?" She winked and Raymond paused. "Oh, come on. Can’t I call you coach?"
"It sounds... Never mind." He went to where the dumbbells were placed and picked up two little ones. "Try lifting these." He said and handed them to her. "Be careful with them."
"These?" Thinking they were as light as they looked, Ariel care freely accepted the dumbbells only for her arms to feel like they were being pulled down by force. "Ah." She let go of them and fortunately avoided them from falling on her feet.
"I told you to be careful with them."
"How was I supposed to know they would weigh so much? They looked so light." She said.
"It weighs just two pounds. I thought you’d be able to handle that." He said, bending down to pick them up.
"Clearly, I can’t." She mumbled with pouted lips. "I don’t need that. I’ll just skip ropes instead." She said, sighting the skipping ropes at the corner.
She made her way to get it while he followed her in order to keep the dumbbells.
Ariel held the ropes with confidence but as soon as she started, she got her legs tied with the rope and was headed straight for the ground.
Luckily, Raymond was able to catch her but that did not stop him from falling with her.
They both landed on the floor. Lucky for them both, none of them sustained any injuries.
"Are you alright?" Raymond asked and she nodded.
"Yeah."
"You have a really bad balance formation." He pointed out.
"It’s not my fault. I’ve never exercised in my lif..." Her words hung on to her throat once she realized the situation she was in.
Right at that moment, they were both on the floor and Ariel was right on top of him. And her hands... They were right where they always wanted to be. His sturdy chest muscles that seemed to be as hard as a rock felt really good to the touch.
"Mammamia." She mumbled in exclamation.
