Chapter 183: This mister pushed us

After Rachael and Romeo went to the monkey bars, Rachael looked away from it and asked,

"Where are the monkeys?" Hearing this, Romeo immediately burst out laughing.

"It’s not called a monkey bar because of that." He said and swiped the tear from his eyelids.

"Then what?"

"It’s actually because when you climb it, you climb like a monkey." He said but she looked like she still didn’t get it. "You know when a monkey swings from one branch to another, it’s like hanging from their hands. When we climb the monkey bar, it’s almost the same thing."

Rachael was silent for a while. She looked at the money bars and thought about it. It did make sense.

She watched other kids play on it and nodded.

"I get it now."

"So, do you want to try climbing it?" Romeo asked with excitement but Raxhwle flat out refused.

"No, too dangerous." She said,

"Um, but I want to climb." Romeo siad, tapping his fingers together.

"But it looks dangerous. Will your mummy approve?" She asked him and he looked back at Paige who was still on the phone. Then,Rachael held his hand. "Other kids may know how to do it but you’ve not tried it before. You may get hurt." She said and pointed at the swing. "Let’s go sit over there."

Romeo looked at the swing and nodded. As soon as they left there to the swing set, more children crowded the monkey bars and started climbing the bars recklessly.

The guards decided to go closet oy the kids but as they were passing the monkey bars, one of the kids fell off and they caught her. Pure luck.

The kids suddenly surrounded them yelling how heroic they looked and asking questions about if they were superheroes or if they were undercover spies.

They tried to break through but the crowd of kids just kept increasing.

"It seems the guards are having a hard time." Romeo said and Rachael nodded before lowering her head.

Then, she raised her head, only for her to see a lady trying hard to hide from a suspicious looking guy.

"Something’s going on over there." She said and Romeo turned to see the same thing.

She was a blonde lady hiding behind the bushes. Would that fool anyone? They didn’t know and they weren’t sure either.

"Should we yell for help?" Romeo asked but then Rachael got down. "What are you doing?"

"I’m going to get a lollipop from the ice cream man." She said and Romeo got down, following after her.

They got to the ice cream stand and bought a dozen lollipops. Romeo didn’t know why she was buying so much but followed her lead, believing she had some sort of plan.

"Why did you buy so much?" Romeo asked while carrying his own dozens and Rachael asked him,

"You too, why did you buy so much? Are you copying me?" She asked and Romeo darted his eyes aside. She glanced back and whispered to him, "On my mark, we’re going to bump into that suspicious man and drop all the lollipops."

Romeo looked behind her and saw the suspicious man coming their way. He immediately knew what she was planning to do and though it seemed risky, he nodded.

The man got closer and Rachael nudged Romeo. They both turned and bumped into the man, falling all the lollipops and fell on their butts.

The man tried to take steps back but ended up stepping on the lollipops and he fell.

"Ugh, fuck. Where did these two freaks come from?" He cussed.

Rachael suddenly started crying. Romeo did the same thing and put the man on a spot. Parents and other people started gathering around wondering what was going on.

"Wahh, my lolis." Rachael wailed.

"This mister pushed us." Romeo accused him and this made everyone look at the man suspiciously.

"What’s a person like that doing at a children’s playground?"

"He looks suspicious, should we call the cops?"

"Maybe he tried to kidnap those innocent kids? Where are their parents?"

Then, Paige pushed through the crowd and saw the two on the floor, putting her heart at ease. She was just about to call a mob of guards to come search the entire vicinity when she heard the commotion.

"Oh God, you’re both here." She hugged them but wondered why they were crying. "What’s going on?" She asked and hugged them, allowing Romeo to whisper to her.

"Mummy, he’s a suspicious person." He said and kept wailing.

She looked up at the man who wanted to make his escape.

"Who are you? What did you plan to do to my kids?" She asked but he frantically shook his head.

"I didn’t. I don’t even know them. They bumped into me and not the other way round."

"So you’re saying the two innocent kids planned all this and pushed you down, a grown man." She flatly accused him

The man looked speechlessly at the lollipops on the ground, the angry crowd and the kids. There was no way to escape that so it was better to run.

But I’m his attempt to run, he got caught by the two guards.

"I’m going to take you to the station and there, you’re going to tell us what your plans are."

"I’m innocent. I don’t even know these kids." He defended but the guards took him away.

Once that was done, the crowd started to disperse while murmuring how glad they were that such a suspicious person was caught before any child went missing.

It was over but Rachael was still crying. She wanted to stop but the tears wouldn’t stop flowing.

"I’m okay." She said, "I... I really am but..." she cried more.

A little girl holding on to her mom’s hand, came over and stretched her lollipop to her.

"Don’t cwy." The little girl said and smiled.

Rachael took it and hugged Paige, hiding her face in embarrassment. She was probably embarrassed that a girl younger than her was consoling her.

The little girl chuckled and left with her mom.

"Mummy, is Rachael okay?" Romeo asked and Paige smiled.

"It’s alright. She’s just a little emotional." She said while patting Rachael’s back.
