I Am An Illegitimate Child With A Legitimate Reason For Revenge-Chapter 163: By giving him a wife
Meanwhile on Serena’s part, she was fuming red with rage after finding out Raymond Stein took Alexa away in the dead of the night.
There was no time to even stop him if she had heard of his appearance that moment.
It was so infuriating and what was even more maddening was the fact that he didn’t make prior plans. He just got up in the middle of the night, called his pilot and flew to Germany.
Why? Why was he being such a pain?
"Tell me you have a solution." She said and turned around. "Henry."
Her razor sharp gaze and her displeased expression made him feel he was a failure once more. Though it wasn’t possible to predict what Raymond would do the next moment, he felt he would’ve been able to do something if he had been more attentive.
"My apologies." He said with his head bowed.
"Would apologizing change anything?" Serena yelled at him. "Raymond Stein is not stupid. He has met up with her more than once and probably thinks the things he sees are mere coincidence but if she stays with him any longer then he is bound to recognize her." She walked out from her table and approached him.
She pointed at his chest and said,
"She has scars." She pointed out. "And she has that damn necklace she didn’t want me to throw away. Raymond will eventually fall for her with that face of hers and then he will gradually realize that the similarities weren’t just coincidences. What are you going to do then?"
Henry was silent. He had definitely messed up there.
"And what? You’re telling me he’s refusing to go to work? What could possibly keep a workaholic from work?" She shut her eyes, held her head and walked back to her seat.
She shut her eyes for a second and opened them.
"I need her back in my grasp, do you understand?" She stated and he nodded,
"Yes, ma’am."
This was all what Serena wanted to avoid. She has done everything so perfectly so far and her plans have never failed so why? Why was it different with Alexa? The plan has been going great till Rachael, that brat, caused trouble.
She really needed to get rid of that brat so that when she got Alexa back, something like this wouldn’t repeat itself.
Raymond deserved to suffer more. Suddenly, an idea hit her and her lips curled up. This was it. He was so attached to that brat, wasn’t he? One more loss would send him to his death for sure.
"That brat needs to die by Raymond’s hand." She said and Henry looked up.
"I have a better idea." He bravely said and she looked up at him, wondering what sort of brilliant idea he had come up with to counter hers.
"Tell me."
"You need Miss Alexa out of Raymond Stein’s life for good so instead of killing the child first, we need to get her out."
"And how do you suggest we do that?" Serena asked him.
Henry gave out a little breath and looked up, staring directly into her eyes.
"By giving him a wife."
Serena was silent. What sort of solution was that? Everyone knew Raymond would never fall for anyone else, not to talk of marriage.
"I know what you’re thinking." Henry said. "But that’s not it. He doesn’t need to fall in love to get a wife. All we need to do is make him indebted."
Serena thought about it and finally saw some sense in it. Her lips curled up sinisterly and she chuckled.
"What a brilliant plan you’ve come up with. I like it."
In Alexa’s room, she felt someone’s gaze on her. She turned around, only to catch Raymond staring at her. She quickly raised her towel that was wrapped around her waist and covered her body with it.
"What...What are you doing here?" She yelled and he jolted out of his lost thoughts.
"I’m sorry, I..." He turned around but there was no way to unsee what he had seen. What was even more shocking was that the scars on her back were very similar to the ones in Ariel’s back. "You have scars."
"I know but what are you doing here? You weren’t supposed to see them. No one was. They’re so ugly." She said, clutching onto her towel.
"I didn’t mean to walk in while you were undressed." He said. "Next time, I’ll make sure to knock."
Even though he said that, Alexa could not wipe off the embarrassment she felt.
"And also, have you heard of this? Scars are trophies." He said. "Forget how ugly they look, what matters is that you were able to scale out of that situation. Though it may remind you of the awful things you went through, you can also gladly remember that you were able to overcome them."
Alexa threw her face aside and gritted her teeth.
"That’s the thing. I don’t remember so all I can tell is that these scars are ugly and I hate them." She said and Raymond stayed silent. So it was true.
"You don’t remember your past, do you?"
"How did you...?"
"You just said so." He said. "You just said you couldn’t remember so I guess something happened that left you with no memories?"
Alexa lowered her head and slightly nodded.
"That’s right." She said, "I don’t remember my past from five years ago."
The word five years ago suddenly hit Raymond hard on his chest. What sort of coincidence was this? It was too much. He found himself gulping as he opened his mouth to ask,
"And you got those scars before losing your memories?" He asked and pursed his lips.
The dots that he never knew were there were already connecting and everything else depended on her answer.
"Yes, that’s right. I got these scars before losing my memories."
Thug! Raymond felt a thug on his chest. This wasn’t happening. It felt impossible yet all the clues were in front of him. What would he have to do to confirm the feeling he was having in his heart.
"Wait, we shouldn’t be talking about this," Alexa said, shaking her head at this odd subject. "What was so important that you came over in person?"
"Your daughter is outside." Raymond said, shocking Alexa.
"Please, don’t let her in. I... I’ll come out soon so make sure she doesn’t come in." she pleaded and Raymond asked,
"Is it because of your scars?"
"Yes. I... I don’t want her to get scared." She said and Raymond walked out.
Once he was gone, her legs gave in and she crumbled on her knees. She gave out a sigh and touched her chest. Her heart was beating so fast that she didn’t know how to calm herself.
"I’m okay." She told herself. "I’m okay."
