Rachael was waiting for her mother in her office. She was in possession of her mother’s things and was waiting patiently for her to return when she heard the phone ring.

She looked up to see if her mother would come in anytime soon and then looked at the phone.

It rang for a while and then it stopped. Relieved that it stopped, she sighed. Only for it to ring again.

’I should just answer it.’ she thought to herself, picked up the phone and answered the call. "Hello. My mummy’s a bit busy right now so can you call back later?" She hoped that would work.

"Rachael." She heard the voice of the mister she liked so much and her face beamed in delight.

"Handsome mister?" Her voice echoed and the manner at which she called him earned a chuckle on his part.

"Yes, it’s me." Raymond said. "Why are you with your mother’s phone?"

"She’s currently at... " she paused and looked at the door, wondering if it was a good idea to disclose what her mother was doing and thought against it. "...She’s busy. I can’t give the phone to her right now. Sorry."

"It’s alright." Raymond said, his face looking a lot more lively than before.

Steve could not help but clean his glasses every now and then as he saw the expression on Raymond’s face. This little girl was probably a miraculous being.

"Is something the matter, mister?" Rachael asked.

"I need to talk to your mother about something." Raymond said and she nodded. "Anyway, how are you?"

"I’m good. And what about you? Are you still feeling sad for the thing you lost?" Rachael asked him and he subconsciously smiled. "I hope you didn’t cry."

"Don’t worry. I didn’t cry and thanks to you, I didn’t miss them too much so I wasn’t sad anymore." He explained and this made Rachale happy.

"I’m glad to hear that." She said and looked up to see that her mother was coming out of the room. "I would like to talk to you more, mister but my mummy is here so I should probably give the phone to her."

"Yes, do that. But make sure to take care of yourself, okay?"

"Okay." She smiled.

"Rachael?" Alexa called and Rachael stretched out the phone to her.

"Here, it’s the handsome uncle from last time." Rachael said to Alexa’s surprise.

’Raymond Stein? Why is he the one calling me and not his assistant?’ She wondered and took the phone. "Hello?"

"Yes, Miss Alexa. How are you?" Raymond asked and Alexa nodded as she made her way to sit next to Rachael.

"I’ve been fine. Thank you for asking." She said and lightly brushed Rachael’s hair. "May I know the reason for this call?"

"I would like to know what time you’ll be ready on Friday?" He asked and Alexa’s eyes widened. With all that was going on, she had completely forgotten that she had to leave the country on Friday.

"Oh, that. Morning. No, noon." She felt confused. She couldn’t even remember if she had something scheduled that Friday. "You know what? I’ll take a look at my schedule and let you know."

"No problem." Raymond closed his eyes, ready to cut the call. "Then I will anticipate your phone call."

"Yes." She said and looked over at Rachael who was eagerly looking at her. She looked like she wanted to take the phone back and continue whatever conversation she was having with Raymond. "Um, Rachael looks like she wants to speak to you."

"She does? Then give her the phone. I’d also like to talk to her."

Alexa placed the phone on loud speaker and gave the phone to Rachael.

"Here. Your handsome mister wants to speak with you." She said, spiking Rachael’s excitement all the more.

"Mister, mister." Rachael called as she took the phone from her mother.

"I’m here."

"What are we going to do together? Are there any fun places over there?" She asked and Alexa felt she should’ve warned her daughter beforehand that they were not going there just to play.

Plus, there was also the fact of Raymond being busy most of the time. She hoped Rachael wouldn’t be disappointed if she got turned down.

"Hm, I don’t know." Raymond said and he sounded like he was seriously thinking about it. "I’ll have to check."

"Please do. I really want to play with you." Rachael happily said.

"Me too. And don’t worry, I’ll make sure to treat you to a lot of sweet things too." he assured and Rachael’s smile grew even wider.

"Alright. I’ll hold on to that." She said,

"Do you have any preferences? We already went to the aquarium last time but if you’d like to go there again, I can make the necessary arrangements." Raymond explained and Rachael gave it some thought before shaking her head.

"Not the aquarium again." She said, "We’ll go somewhere different, like the amusement park."

Raymond made a very brief pause and Alexa thought he was finally going to deny her request but then he said,

"Alright. We’ll go to the amusement park and have fun."

"Yay." She looked really delighted but Alexa was speechless.

How much longer was Raymond Stein planning to accommodate Rachael’s behavior?

How much more would he do just to sooth this little girl’s whims? Did he like her that much?

Now, she really had to think of the possibility that he would steal her daughter away with all the gifts and attention he was giving her.

’Guess this was what Rachael had always longed for. And she’s not holding back either.’ She smiled sadly. ’But that isn’t her father. How long can I let this go on? I have to stop it at some point?’

"Alright, mister." Rachael said. "But one more thing."

Alexa’s attention was brought back with those words.

"What is it?" Raymond asked, ready to do anything.

"Can I stop calling you mister and call you something else?" She requested and he saw no problem with that.

"Of course. You can call me anything. What would you like to call me?" He asked and Rachael stole a glance at her mother before closing them.

"Can I call you padre?"
