I Am An Illegitimate Child With A Legitimate Reason For Revenge-Chapter 145: Headache that blocks her memories
Alexa turned away from the screen. There was no internet access. That was too much of a coincidence. What were the odds that Serena was not the one behind this?
Now, she couldn’t even do anything but suspect her.
Alexa wanted to clear the air. She wanted to know the truth behind those mini cameras, wanted to know why she was so obsessed with her and why... she suddenly became insensitive and cold hearted.
"Headache." She grunted and went to get a glass of water. This headache was becoming rather unusual. "Where’s my medicine?"
Alexa went to take her medicine she kept in her drawer. These headaches were getting more frequent because she took her medicines irregularly. It was already bad enough that she couldn’t remember anything about her past, she also had to deal with headaches.
Just as she was about to take them, she paused and looked at the bottle. Really, she couldn’t recall anything from her past no matter how hard she tried and when she tried too hard, she’d get that headache again.
It was as if each time she was about to recall, the headaches would block them. Why was that?
Come to think of it, Serena was the one who took her to the doctor to get these sets of medicines. Was there something in it hindering her from recalling her past?
But why would Serena do such a thing? They were sisters, weren’t they?
Her heart suddenly throbbed and she grabbed her chest. She has this suffocating feeling that was keeping her from feeling good about Serena.
She noticed this a while ago but whenever she had a complex question about some certain topics of her past and she got a headache, her heart would also ache.
It was as if since her head wasn’t able to remember, her heart would end up responding. Yeah, her head couldn’t remember but her heart knew too well. Then this ache, did that mean Serena was actually a bad person?
The reason why she did all that was because... they weren’t actually sisters?
It all made sense now. Her strict supervision, going as far as planting mini cameras to watch over her and controlling her life. A sister wouldn’t do that. It was...
"Helt vildt." Alexa grunted and she gasped, covering her mouth. What did she just say?
That was a foreign language. It wasn’t German. It was...
"Danish?" The words slipped out of her mouth and she wondered. Did she know how to speak Danish before losing her memory? It wasn’t such a common language to learn so why did she learn it?
Trying to remember would only give her a headache so she shook her head.
"I’m so confused." She complained.
Everything suddenly seemed unfamiliar and she was scared. She grabbed her head and thought about this in a distressed state. Her life... What if her life was also a lie? What was going on? She was really scared now? Being lied to for so long...? Was it true?
"Mummy?" Rachael’s little voice broke her out of her distressed state and she raised her head.
"I’m here, baby." Alexa said while wiping off any trace of tears from her eyes. She got down from the stool and Rachael walked towards her.
Suddenly, she hugged her legs and sunk herself in it.
"What’s wrong, baby?" She asked but Rachael shook her head, not wanting to say anything. "Did you have a bad dream?"
"Mummy," Rachael called instead of answering and said, "Did you fight with aunty Serena because of me?"
Alexa’s eyes widened. Did she hear them? This made her feel even more bad and she lifted Rachael from the floor and into her arms.
"It’s not because of you, baby. Your aunt and I just had something serious to talk about." She said, trying to smile.
"It didn’t go well?" Rachael asked and she shook her head.
"It didn’t." She said and saw Rachael’s sad face. "But don’t worry, we’ll get back together soon. Misunderstandings don’t last long, okay?"
"Alright." Rachael nodded and wrapped her arms around her mother’s neck, hugging her with all she had.
Alexa stroked her head and then suddenly asked,
"Baby, do you like this place"
Rachael raised her head and looked straight into her mother’s face. She could tell she was sad and so she kissed her forehead.
"I like wherever mummy is." She said and hugged her neck again. "As long as mummy stays with me, I will like any place."
Alexa hugged her daughter tight, feeling relieved and light at heart.
"That’s nice to hear." She said and let the tears she had been holding back slide done her cheeks and onto her daughters arm
Rachael patted her back and hugged her even more tighter, hoping to make her mother feel better.
Now, Alexa was scared. She was scared that the life she had been living all along had been a lie. Scared that her every move was being monitored in that house and scared that her daughter would get dragged into whatever mess there was.
Serena had already made it clear that she saw Rachael as an eyesore from the way she acted and that meant Rachael was in trouble but then... she didn’t want to think too much about it.
Whatever Serena’s plan was, she had to find out and make sure it didn’t hurt her daughter.
First, she’d have to take Rachael away from that school, keep her where she could see and also monitor their surroundings. For all she knew, Serena also had guys watching her when she went out.
It was possible.
God, how did her life become so complicated in just one day?
"I love you, my cinnamon pie." She said and kissed Rachael’s temple.
"I love you too, mummy."

Hey, someone told me I’m rushing this so I need honest reviews on how this part went. Was it too hasty for Alexa/Ariel to find out she was being lied to? Know she’s a psychologist and all that.
Anyway, please let me know what you think in the comment section. Thank you and I hope you’re enjoying this story
By the way, that Danish word meant ’crazy’
