Hubby's Deep Love Will Never Change-Chapter 1111 Heather of the Other Shore Flower Sea (135)
No one who’s ever dealt with her would say she has a good temper.
Some things can be tolerated, but others cannot. And when she can’t tolerate something, the ones who provoke her often meet a grim end.
Yi Yang smiled but didn’t argue with her. "Miss Hai, this way, please."
Heather walked behind him, moving slowly. When they reached the door, she asked, "Is he alone? Or is someone else inside?"
"Miss Qu is inside." Yi Yang wouldn’t dare to hide this detail.
Heather paused, her gaze flickering briefly before disappearing. She smiled faintly at Yi Yang. "Then forget it. I’ll come back another day to see Mr. Nian. No need to announce me."
"Hey, Miss Hai—"
As Yi Yang called out, the door in front of him opened. Nian Shen appeared at the doorway, his deep voice carrying command: "Come in."
Heather turned and saw Nian Shen freshly out of the shower, wrapped in a towel around his waist, water droplets still sliding down his upper body. Her expression didn’t change; she tugged the corner of her lips into an almost-smile. "Forget it. I really don’t have anything urgent. I won’t disturb you and Miss Qu. I’ll come back another time."
"I told you to come in," Nian Shen frowned, a look of displeasure already forming. "You’re not the kind to drag things out, are you?"
Heather’s eyes darkened slightly, and she stepped inside.
Yi Yang stepped aside to let her pass and then closed the door behind her.
This was a presidential suite, but the living room showed no sign of Qu Leqi’s presence.
"I know you two had a bit of a falling out on set and don’t want to see each other. She’s in the room and won’t come out."
Heather stood there, bowing slightly. "Mr. Nian, I came here today to ask you one thing. The offer you made for me to be your bodyguard—does it still stand?"
"Of course it stands. I told you, no matter when you agree, I’ll accept you," Nian Shen said as he sat down, pouring himself a glass of red wine. His gaze swept to the empty seat beside him. "Sit down."
But Heather didn’t move. Her eyes were fixed on him, momentarily lost in thought.
"Heather?" Nian Shen called her again. "Sit down."
She snapped out of her daze and gently shook her head. "No need. I came today just to tell you this in person. That’s all I wanted. I’ll take my leave now."
"I told you to sit down!" His voice deepened, carrying a touch of frustration. "You’re acting strange today. Why so hesitant? You came to me on your own to say you wanted to be my bodyguard. And now, you’re just going to leave? What’s that supposed to mean?"
"What? Am I supposed to start work today?"
"Why not? From the moment you agreed, you’re officially my personal bodyguard. Do you know what being a personal bodyguard means? Twenty-four hours, sticking by my side."
"Twenty-four hours?"
"It means you’re staying here tonight. There’s an empty room for you. Tomorrow, I’ll have Yi Yang move your belongings here. As long as I’m in Linyang, you’ll be living here with me. Understand?"
"..."
Just as her lips parted to speak, Nian Shen cut her off with a voice that brooked no dissent: "Have you ever heard the saying, ’A boss’s orders are paramount’? Since I’m your direct superior, what I say goes. You don’t have the right to negotiate with me. If you agree, stay."
She couldn’t help but think, if he kept talking, would his next sentence be, "If you don’t agree, the door’s over there"?
What a domineering man!
But really, who could she blame? She had walked into this herself.
"Fine, I agree."
